The Detection Distance of Colored Target using Various Automotive Headlamps

  • As headlamp technology advances, newly developed various headlamps were introduced in the market. The objective of this study is to quantitatively analyze the detection distance of the recently developed LED headlamps and existing headlamps, complying with specific technical standard. Background: The detection distance of headlamps is very important to prevent automobile accident at night time. The studies of detection distance of LED, Halogen and HID headlamp have been conducted, but no study has shown the detection distance of pedestrian target with various colors (Black, White, Blue). Method: The experiment of detection distance was conducted with 30 people, which divide into 2 groups as 15 men and 15 women. Automatic transferable target on the rail was manufactured in order to reduce the error of study's result, and ANOVA also conducted to analyze the main effect with sign color, sex and headlamp classified by detection distance. In addition, the luminance by average detection distance was measured as well. Results: The detection distance of headlamps was HID > LED > Halogen. The luminance measure of LED headlamp was lower than HID and Halogen headlamps. Conclusion: The headlamp performs a very significant role for safety at night time but it needs to be improved through assessment of visual characteristics. Also, it needs to be suggested the need of test method for dynamic detection distance concerning technical development is suggested.

  • We proposed a neural network based “left shoulder”detector. The auto-associative neural network was trained with the “left shoulder”patterns obtained from the Korea Composite Stock Price Index, and then tested out-of-sample with a reasonably good result. A hypothetical investment strategy based on the detector achieved a return of 132% in comparison with 39% return from a buy and hold strategy

  • 본 논문에서는 주파수 자원 고갈에 대한 문제를 해결할 수 있는 실내 UWB (Ultra Wide Band) 무선 채널에 대해 소개하고, UWB 무선 채널에서의 신호를 획득하는 방법에 대해 제안한다. IEEE 802.15.TG3a 표준화 위원회에서 제시하는 채널 모델에 대한 이해를 바탕으로 차등 부호 상관을 적용한 신호 획득에 대해 설명하며 이를 UWB 무선 채널에 적용하여 모의 실험을 통해 성능을 분석한다. 신호 획득의 성능 평가 기준으로 신호대 잡음비에 따른 검파 확률을 (Detection Probability) 보여주며, 한 채널 모델에 대해 m-수열의 길이에 따른 성능과 수열의 종류에 따른 성능, 그리고 부호 상관을 적용하는 방법에 따른 성능을 분석한다.

  • In this paper, a range image segmentation method is proposed. This method consists of an initial segmentation stage by discontinuous edge detection and surface type labeling based on the sign of the principal curvatures. Initially type labeled image is oversegmented, this image is merged via stepwise optimal region merging stage based on polynomial function approxiamtion. The successful segmentation results are presented for two synthetic range images with noise and a real-world ERIM range image.

  • 본 논문에서 장난감 자동차를 이용한 차선의 검출과 신호등을 인식하는 자율주행 자동차 시스템에 관한 연구이다. 제안된 시스템에서는 장난감 자동차를 분해하여 라즈베리파이보드와 아두이노보드을 설치하고, 임의로 설치된 차선과 신호등을 인식하여 주행하도록 구현한다. 차선의 검출은 자동차의 상단에 설치된 파이카메라로부터 입력영상을 획득하고, 획득된 영상의 하단부분에서 차선검출을 통하여 자동차의 방향을 제어한다. 또한 트랙의 상단에 설치된 신호등의 초록과 빨강 신호를 검출하고 인식하도록 구현하였다.

  • 본 논문에서 제안한 종합주가지수 "왼쪽어깨" 패턴 검출은 자기 연상 학습 신경망을 사용하였다. 종합주가 지수 데이터에서 머리어깨모형 중 왼쪽 어깨에 해당하는 데이터로 신경망을 학습시킨 후 이를 이용하여 현재 혹은 테스트 데이터를 입력으로 주어 성능을 평가하였다. 결과는 비교적 우수하였다. 패턴 검출에 의한 투자를 하였을 경우 17개월간의 누적 수익률이 132% 였다. 이 기간동안 buy and hold 전략을 사용했을 경우의 수익률은 39% 였다.률은 39% 였다.

Simulation Analysis of Safety Evacuation in University Experiment Building

  • According to the actual situation of a university, the emergency evacuation simulation is modeled based on the physical sign, evacuation speed and personnel ratio using the pathfinder software.The experimental construction export utilization rate is compared with the preliminary simulation scenario. The simulation results show that the utilization rate of evacuation stairs and evacuation exits is significantly improved.The optimized solution can provide the most effective evacuation passage, and the research results can provide the basis for the rational planning and management of evacuation passage in university experiment building.

  • Early detection of premonitory symptom of slope movement ensures tremendous saving of lives and repair costs from catastrophic disaster. Therefore, it is essential to constantly monitor the performance and integrity of both reinforced and un-reinforced cut slopes. We developed a novel monitoring system by using tension wire sensors. It's advantages are highly sensitivity, simple installation, large displacement measurement, durability of system, capability of remote sensing. Real-time measurement of slope surface movement is shown graphically and it gives a warning when the monitored value exceeds a given threshold level so that any sign of abnormal slope movement can be easily perceived.

  • A respiration is one of the most useful techniques for vital checking and an abnormal respiration is often the earliest sign of critical illness. Detection of respiration is based on the photo-plethysmography (PPG) with photodiode technique. Because PPG sensor using photodiode can be easily miniaturized, it is suitable for wearable devices. A system to measure respiration rate based on PPG signal is implemented and for a reliable measurement an improved algorithm in accuracy using PPG signal pattern is proposed in this paper. As results regarding to three types of respirations (regular interval, free interval, and weak respiration) the proposed algorithm showed error rate of 0.047, 0.067, and 0.122 respectively.

  • A typical industrial data - monitoring scheme often requires trend detection Trend detection can be accomplished in many ways. Common statistical methods are the sign test, the run test, and the trend test. Graphical methods include various smoothing schemes and the cusum. The cusum has established itself as an efficient method of detecting changes in the mean level of a process being monitored. The cusum requires a "target value" with which the raw data are compared. At production start - up it is often difficult to designate the target value. This paper offers a means of initiating the cusum technique without a target value.
