Commercially pure titanium(cp-Ti) and Ti-15wt%Zr-4wt%Nb-4wt%Ta alloy were melted in vacuum induction furnace. According to the chemical analysis, the content of carbon was above ASTM standard in the cast ingots because of using graphite crucible. The TEM micostructures of cp-Ti and Ti alloy shows that chemically stable TiC precipitates distribute in ${\alpha}-Ti$ matrix. In order to examine the properties of cp-Ti and Ti-Zr-Nb-Ta alloy for dental applications, mechanical properties and corrosion resistance were investigated. The anodic polarization properties of Ti-Zr-Nb-Zr alloy were almost same as that of cp-Ti in 1% lactic acid. However, as the results of the anodic polarization test in 5% HCl, it was known that Ti-Zr-Nb-Zr alloy showed a rapid decrease in current density at higher potential in comparison with cp-Ti. The yield stress and tensile strengh in Ti-Zr-Nb-Ta were ${\sigma}_{0.2}=623\;MPa$, ${\sigma}_{T.S.}=708\;MPa$ and these results showed 30% increase in yield stress in comparison with cp-Ti.

The drift force acting on a freely-floating sphere in water of finite depth is studied within the framework of a linear potential theory. A velocity potential describing fluid motion is determined by distribution pulsating sources and dipoles on the immersed surface of the sphere. Upon knowing values of the potential, hydrodynamic forces are evaluated by integrating pressures over the immersed surface of the sphere. The motion response of the sphere in water of finite depth is obtained by solving the equation of motion. From these results, the drift force on the sphere is evaluated by the momentum theorem, in which a far-field velocity potential is utilized in forms of Kochin function. The drift force coefficient Cdr of a fixed sphere increases monotononically with non-dimensional wave frequency ${\sigma}a$. On the other hand, in freely-floating case, the Cdr has a peak value at ${\sigma}a$ of heave resonance. The magnitude of the drift force coefficient Cdr in the case of finite depth is different form that for deep water, but the general tendency seems to be similar in both cases. It is to note that Cdr is greater than 1.0 when non-dimensional water depth d/a is 1.5 in the case of freely-floating sphere.
An experimental study of twin-fluid atomization for powder metallurgy has been conducted using a specially designed atomizer in which liquid is first spread into a thin sheet and then exposed on both sides to high-velocity air. Inner air jet worked for supplying liquid and outer air jets disintegrated liquid sheet. The first result of this study were confined to the effect of atomizing quality through experiments with water. The experimental data will be extend to include the influence of atomizing air velocities on mean particle size through experiments with molten material. An experimental equation on the relationship between SMD and the related parameters was taken out; $$SMD=0.00302\frac{{(\sigma_L\;\rho_L\;D_L)}^{0.5}}{\rho_A(V_1+1.155\;V_2)/2}(1+\frac{W_L}{(W_{A1}/3.33)+W_{A2}})+0.0148(\frac{{\mu_L}^2}{\sigma_L\;\rho_L})^{0.425} \;{D_L}^{0.575}(1+\frac{W_L}{(W_{A1}/3.33)+W_{A2}})^2$$.

The main function of Ball-Stop part is to operate power shift for vehicle with more than 5 ton when a driver changes gear using suitable force. This paper presents the implementation of a DFSS(Design For Six Sigma) for robust design of Ball-Stop part of power shift. The factors influencing Ball-Stop part performance is derived to find control factor. Based on this factor, contact force between head and detent pin analysis is performed to get optimal factor is analyzed and compared with contact force test result to verify reliability of design. This makes clear the reason why the proposed one is necessary and the role of DFSS.
We tried to design a Galilean telescopic spectacles for low vision which is with reference to goods of German. The design bases are that the magnification is 2.2X for general using and the diameter of aperture stop is 3mm. The Galilean telescopic spectacles is designed by using Sigma 2100 made in Kidger Optics Ltd. As a result, we have got the system that the MTF-value is more than 0.25 at 0.25 cycles/arc-minute and the distortion is under 1%. This system is judged to be useful for low vision.

In the present paper, a new calculation algorithm far solving large scale environmental or geophysical flows with free surface is proposed where the non-hydrostatic pressure component is taken into consideration. Predictor-corrector fractional step approach with explicit, forward time marching scheme in the sigma coordinate system is employed. In order to validate the present calculation algorithm and to estimate the effects of non-hydrostatic pressure on resultant flow and free surface movements, example calculations are carried out for typical steady and unsteady flow problems. Present method can be applied to the meso-scale free surface flows with complex bottom topography where MAC-like 3-d hydrodynamic calculations are quite ineffective and uneconomic.
The simulation analyses of a solar power system with monolithic concentrator by using a stirling engine are carried out to predict the system performance in four test sites. The site has different intensities and distributions of direct solar radiation respectively. Seoul, Pusan and Cheju in Korea, and Naha in Japan are selected as test sites. To accomplish the same demand of a 25 kW output that the power level of a system has, it needs to take the matching of collector/receiver with engine/generator systems. In such a case, also, the size of the collector is sometimes adjusted. In this study, the diameter of the collector is decided by using the solar radiation of design point, which is defined as the sum of average and standard deviation $\sigma$ of maximum direct solar radiation distribution for a day during a year in the respective test site. It is found that the average power output during the system operating time in the case of slope error ${\sigma}_s=2.5$ is within the range of 9 to 13 kW.

Concrete retaining walls are the most common types of geotechnical structures for controlling instable slopes resulting from lateral pressure. In analytical stability, calculation of the concrete retaining walls is regarded as a rigid mass when its safety is required. When cracks in these structures are created, the stability may be enforced and causes to defeat. Therefore, identification, creation and propagation of cracks are among the important steps in control of lacks and stabilization. Using the numerical methods for simulation of crack propagation in concrete retaining walls bodies are among the new aspects of geotechnical analysis. Among the considered analytical methods in geotechnical appraisal, the boundary element method (BEM) for simulation of crack propagation in concrete retaining walls is very convenient. Considered concrete retaining wall of this paper is Pars Power Plant structured in south side in Assalouyeh, SW of Iran. This wall's type is RW6 with 11 m height and 440 m length and endurance of refinery construction lateral forces. To evaluate displacement and stress distributions (${\sigma}_{1,max}/{\sigma}_{3,min}$), the surrounding, especially in tip and its opening crack BEM, is considered an appropriate method. By considering the result of this study, with accurate simulation of crack propagation, it is possible to determine the final status of progressive failure in concrete retaining walls and anticipate the suitable stabilization method.

Six sigma has been the most influential management innovation tool in order to achieve the customer's satisfaction and keep the competition in the age of limitless competition. The success in six sigma is to find the correct CTQ (Critical to Quality). QFD (Quality function deployment) is the efficient too ever created to tie product and service design decisions directly to customer wants and needs. One of the mistakes in QFD is to analyze using an inconsistent HOQ (House of quality) chart. An inconsistent HOQ chart is one in which the information from the correlation matrix is inconsistent with that from the relationship matrix. This study presents the consistency check and inconsistency check in case of failing the consistency check. Also we propose the procedures using the Limiting Probability in correlation matrix and the Median Rank in relationship matrix in order to be consistent in HOQ chart.
Proof correction to the equation in the third paragraph of the DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION has not been carried faithfully to the published version of the paper. The corrected equation should read ${\approx}10^{-3}\;M_8^4/^3(N_{\ast}/10^6\;pc^{-3})({\sigma}/300 km\;s^{-l})^{-l}(r/r_t)\;yr^{-1}$, where Ms is the mass of the SMBH in units of $10^8\;M_{\bigodot}$, $\sigma$ is the virial velocity of the stars, $r_t$ is the tidal radius of the SMBH. This estimates the frequency that a star would pass within a sphere with the radius r from the SMBH, rather than the frequency of the tidal disruption event. Therefore, it increases with the mass of the SMBH. However, the loss cone effect should also be taken into account, which reduces the actual event rate. Here, we adopted a factor of one hundred to consider the deficiency from the isotrophic rate. The authors sincerely regret this error.
