  • For a positive square-free integer $d$, let $t_d$ and $u_d$ be positive integers such that ${\epsilon}_d=\frac{t_d+u_d{\sqrt{d}}}{\sigma}$ is the fundamental unit of the real quadratic field $\mathbb{Q}(\sqrt{d})$, where ${\sigma}=2$ if $d{\equiv}1$ (mod 4) and ${\sigma}=1$ otherwise For a given positive integer $l$ and a palindromic sequence of positive integers $a_1$, ${\ldots}$, $a_{l-1}$, we define the set $S(l;a_1,{\ldots},a_{l-1})$ := {$d{\in}\mathbb{Z}|d$ > 0, $\sqrt{d}=[a_0,\overline{a_1,{\ldots},2a_0}]$}. We prove that $u_d$ < $d$ for all square-free integer $d{\in}S(l;a_1,{\ldots},a_{l-1})$ with one possible exception and apply it to Ankeny-Artin-Chowla conjecture and Mordell conjecture.

  • Let A be a commutative ring and M an Artinian .A-module. Let $\sigma$ be a torsion radical functor and (T, F) it's corresponding partition of Spec(A) In [1] the concept of Cohen-Macauly modules was generalized . In this paper we shall define $\sigma$-co-Cohen-Macaulay (abbr. $\sigma$-co-CM). Indeed this is one of the aims of this paper, we obtain some satisfactory properties of such modules. An-other aim of this paper is to generalize the concept of cograde by using the left derived functor $U^{\alpha}$$_{I}$(-) of the $\alpha$-adic completion functor, where a is contained in Jacobson radical of A.A.

  • In this paper, we first show that for any space X, there is a ${\sigma}$-complete Boolean subalgebra of $\mathcal{R}$(X) and that the subspace {${\alpha}{\mid}{\alpha}$ is a fixed ${\sigma}Z(X)^{\sharp}$-ultrafilter} of the Stone-space $S(Z({\Lambda}_X)^{\sharp})$ is the minimal basically disconnected cover of X. Using this, we will show that for any countably locally weakly Lindel$\ddot{o}$f space X, the set {$M{\mid}M$ is a ${\sigma}$-complete Boolean subalgebra of $\mathcal{R}$(X) containing $Z(X)^{\sharp}$ and $s_M^{-1}(X)$ is basically disconnected}, when partially ordered by inclusion, becomes a complete lattice.

  • The IMD(International Institute for Management Development) report said that national competitiveness of Korea is declined in this year. The main reason for Korea's decline is a largely related to the weakness of corporate competitiveness. The new product development is a necessary ingredient for improving the national competitiveness. The analysis of changing of technologies and customer's needs is needed for successful new product development. In this paper, We found out successful factors of the project by use of DFSS(Design for Six Sigma) and proved them by case study of K-company. Result from this paper is applied to the new product development planning step for K-company and it made a great success rate. It is expected that the result is applied to the same kind industries.

  • A semi-empirical polarimetric backscattering model for bare soil surfaces is presented. Based on measurements by using polarimetric scatterometers and the JPL AirSAR, as well as the theoretical models, the backscattering coefficints $\sigma$$^0_w$, $\sigma$$^0_{hh}$ and $\sigma$$^0_{vh}$, and the parameters of the copolarized phase-difference probability density function, namely the degree of correlation $\alpha$ and the copolarized-phase-difference $\zeta$, are modeled empirically in terms of the volumetric soil moisture content m$_v$ and the surface roughness parameters $k_s$ and $k_l$, where k=2$\pi$f/c, s is the rms height and l is the correlation length.

  • This paper presents a low power and high resolution incremental delta-sigma ADC that utilizes a passive integrator instead of an opamp-based active integrator. Opamp is a power-hungry block that involves tight design tradeoffs. To avoid the use of active integrator, the s-domain characteristic of an active integrator is first analyzed. Based on the analysis, an active integrator with low gain design is proposed as an alternative design method. To save power even more aggressively, a passive integrator with no static current is proposed. A 1st order single-bit incremental delta-sigma ADC using the proposed passive integrator is implemented in a 65nm CMOS process. Transistor-level simulation shows that the ADC consumes only 0.6uW under 1.2V supply while achieving SNDR of 71dB with 22kHz bandwidth. The estimated total power consumption including digital filter is 6.25uW, and resulting power efficiency is on a par with state-of-the-art A/D converters.

  • Six sigma is a management innovation strategy which improves all managerial processes in an integrated manner, Six sigma can be applied to every aspect of managerial functions such as marketing, engineering, purchasing, accounting, and so on. Six sigma is trying to solve quality problems from the customer's viewpoint in the scientific manner, thus maximizing profits through the elimination of quality costs. This paper is presented to verify empirically the successful factors of implementing six sigma through the survey of blackbelts of Korean firms. The bluechip companies in Korea and across the world have already adopted Six Sigma, and it is becoming an integral part of the corporate culture of these companies. In conclusion, the most important factors to the success of six sigma are found to be the leadership of top management, and the compensation/ incentive system. The analysis also shows that the important factors are different in terms of both the process type and implementing stage.

  • This paper presents a CMOS interface circuit for MEMS acceleration sensor. It consists of a capacitance to voltage converter(CVC), a second-order switched-capacitor (SC) integrator and comparator. A bandgap reference(BGR) has been designed to supply a stable bias to the circuit and a ${\Sigma}{\Delta}$ Modulator with chopper - stabilization(CHS) has also been designed for more suppression of the low frequency noise and offset. As a result, the output of this ${\Sigma}{\Delta}$ Modulator increases about 10% duty cycle when the input voltage amplitude increases 100mV and the sensitivity is x, y-axis 0.45v/g, z-axis 0.28V/g. This work is designed and implemented in a 0.35um CMOS technology with a supply voltage of 3.3V and a sampling frequency of 3MHz sampling frequency. The size of the designed chip including PADs is $0.96mm{\times}0.85mm$.

  • In this paper, we have constructed subclasses of bi-univalent functions associated with ${\lambda}$-bi-pseudo-starlike functions in the unit disc U. Furthermore we established bound on the coefficients for the subclasses $S^{\lambda}_{\Sigma}(k,{\alpha})$ and $S^{\lambda}_{\Sigma}(k,{\beta})$.

  • In this paper, under some suitable integrability and smoothness conditions on f, we establish the central limit theorems for $$\sum_{k{\leq}N}k^{-1}f(S_k/{\sigma}\sqrt{k})$$, where $S_k$ is the partial sums of strictly stationary mixing random variables with $EX_1=0$ and ${\sigma}^2=EX^2_1+2\sum_{k=1}^{\infty}EX_1X_{1+k}$. We also establish an almost sure limit behaviors of the above sums.
