  • The Haeng Chym(行鍼) which is the sixty seventh chapter of the Young Chu(靈樞), predominantly explicates the six kinds of needling reactions. The principle ideas of this thesis can be summarized as following, the Haeng Chym is divided into three parts in this thesis. 1st part: It shows that the six kinds of reactions occur from the excess and deficiency of yin-yang(陰陽) which is due to each different constitution(體質) in the acupuncture. 2nd part: It explains the excessive visceral-qi(臟氣) which is due to congenital constitution and the needling reaction which appears among the man of overabundant yang(重陽之人). It shows needling reaction of the man who has a little yin among the man of overabundant yang. 3rd part: It explains the quick and slow of the reaction whim occurred in the acupuncture, the presence of reaction by the times of acupuncture, abnormal rising of qi, bad needling reaction in the acupuncture and the side effect by frequent acupuncture.

Cofactor Regeneration Using Permeabilized Escherichia coli Expressing NAD(P)+-Dependent Glycerol-3-Phosphate Dehydrogenase

  • Oxidoreductases are effective biocatalysts, but their practical use is limited by the need for large quantities of NAD(P)H. In this study, a whole-cell biocatalyst for NAD(P)H cofactor regeneration was developed using the economical substrate glycerol. This cofactor regeneration system employs permeabilized Escherichia coli cells in which the glpD and gldA genes were deleted and the gpsA gene, which encodes $NAD(P)^+-dependent$ glycerol-3-phosphate dehydrogenase, was overexpressed. These manipulations were applied to block a side reaction (i.e., the conversion of glycerol to dihydroxyacetone) and to switch the glpD-encoding enzyme reaction to a gpsA-encoding enzyme reaction that generates both NADH and NADPH. We demonstrated the performance of the cofactor regeneration system using a lactate dehydrogenase reaction as a coupling reaction model. The developed biocatalyst involves an economical substrate, bifunctional regeneration of NAD(P)H, and simple reaction conditions as well as a stable environment for enzymes, and is thus applicable to a variety of oxidoreductase reactions requiring NAD(P)H regeneration.

집중력, 청각반응속도, 순발력이 민첩성에 미치는 영향 (The effects of a concentration, an auditory reaction time and a muscle power on an agility)

  • Background : The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between an agility and a concentration, an auditory reaction time and a muscle power. Methods : Twenty one healthy female college students who were 20-21 years participated in the experiment; after being introduced to the methods, they voluntarily signed a consent form. And they received several test related with this study; side step test for an agility, Harris & Harris test for a concentration, brain auditory evoked potential test for an auditory reaction time and vertical jump test for a muscle power. Result : There was no relationship between the agility and the concentration and the auditory reaction time. However, the muscle power related with the agility significantly. Conclusion : In conclusion, these findings suggest that a muscle power training is a good way to promote an agility. So, we can find out that, in an player who requires an agility, a muscle power training is the most important way for promoting an agility than a concentration training or an auditory reaction time training.

Aripiprazole-Related Oculogyric Dystonia

  • Objectives : Aripiprazole is unique drug among the SGA (Second generation antipsychotics) in its pharmacology and pharmacokinetics,but is similar in clinical efficacy. Aripiprazole acts as a partial agonist at dopamine D2 receptors, activating the receptor but eliciting a reduced response compared to the natural neurotransmitter. There are some side effects of aripiprazole, the most common side effects of aripiprazole are headache, nausea, vomiting, insomnia, tremor, constipation and EPS. Difficulty in opening eyes is not defined EPS yet, but it is a rare but important side-effect symptom of aripiprazole. Methods : This article is about a case of side-effect symptom of aripiprazole, 26-year-old single female suffering from schizophrenia had difficulty in opening eyes while she was taking antipsychotics. During the hospitalization, the relaxation therapy is helpful not only to reduce tension in the eyelids but also to headache. Results : It is important that early recognition of aripiprazole-induced oculogyric dystonia can prevent life-threatening complications. Education medical staff to this easily treatable reaction will improve overall quality of health care. Conclusions : This case notifies the need for awareness of the risk of acute oculogyric dystonia in adolescent female patients receiving aripiprazole.

가솔린엔진의 부하(負荷)에 따른 실린더 벽면 온도특성(溫度特性)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究) (An Experimental Study on the Cylinder Wall Temperature Characteristics for Load Variations in a Gasoline Engine)

  • The purpose of this study is to prevent the stick, scuffing, scratch between piston and cylinder, is to contribute the piston design such as piston profile, clearance by calculating reaction force by over-lap of piston skirt, as measuring the temperature distributions of cylinder wall. The experiment has been peformed to obtain data during actual engine operation. Temperature gradient in peripheral and axial distributions of cylinder wall according to torque and speed of engine were measured by use of an 800cc class gasoline engine. The results obtained are summarized as follows ; 1) The temperature of cylinder wall at TDC was about $50{\sim}75^{\circ}C$ higher than temperature of cooling water. 2) The rear side temperature of top dead center was $141^{\circ}C$(1/4 load) in axial distribution, whereas the rear side of midway position temperature was $98^{\circ}C$. 3) The temperature of cylinder wall increased in according to rising temperature of cooling water. 4) The thrust side temperature of cylinder wall was about $15^{\circ}C$ in all load test. 5) The rear side temperature of top dead center was $159^{\circ}C$ (1/2 load) in peripheral distribution, it was about $39^{\circ}C$ higher than thrust side temperature.

경호무도를 수련한 경호원의 우발 상황 시 경호자세의 반응시간 및 EMG 패턴 분석 (Reaction time and EMG pattern analysis of Body guards who have trained martial arts to accidental situations)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 경호 중 우발 상황 시 경호원들의 자세를 분석하여 객관적이고 정량적인 기초자료를 얻는데 있다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위하여 경호무도 수련한 4명을 대상으로 하였으며, 경호자세의 반응시간 및 근육의 활성도를 분석하기 위하여 EMG시스템을 활용하여 분석한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 경호자세의 전체반응시간은 평균 $1.38{\pm}0.07$초 소요되었다. 신호에 대한 1구간의 반응시간은 구간은 평균 $0.22{\pm}0.02$초였으며, 신호의 확인 이후 2구간의 반응시간은 평균 $0.62{\pm}0.10$초로 추진력을 얻기 위해 가장 긴 시간이 소요되었으며, 그다음 3구간은 $0.29{\pm}0.02$초, 4구간은 $0.26{\pm}0.02$초로 점점 시간이 단축되는 것을 알 수 있었다. 경호자세의 각 근육의 활성도는 1구간에서도 좌우 전경골근, 2구간에서는 좌우 전경골근과 우측 비복근, 3구간에서는 우측 전경골근과 비복근, 4구간에서는 좌우 대퇴이두근과 우측 대퇴직근의 활성도가 크게 나타내보였다. 또, 1구간과 2구간은 주로 하퇴근육을 많이 사용하였으며, 3구간과 4구간에서는 대퇴와 하퇴근육을 즉, 하지 전체를 근육을 사용하는 것을 알 수 있었다.

불균일 촉매를 이용한 CFC-113a$(CF_3CCl_3)$의 액상 가수소 분해 반응 (Hydrogenolysis of CFC-113a$(CF_3CCl_3)$ Catalyzed by Heterogeneous Catalysts in the Liquid Phase)

  • 여러가지 불균일 촉매$(Rh/Al_2O_3,\;Pd/C,\;Ni,\;Al_2O_3,\;Active\;carbon)$를 이용하여 CFC-113a의 가수소 분해반응을 액상과 기상에서 각각 조사하였다. 액상반응에서는 각 촉매에 따라 반응성은 차이가 났지만, 95% 이상의 높은 선택성으로 $HCFC-123(CF_3CHCl_2)$을 주었다. 특히 $Al_2O-3$가 액상반응에서 상당히 높은 반응성과 선택성을 보인 것은 주목할 만하다. 기상반응의 경우, 전이금속이 포함된 촉매(Pd/C, Pt/C)를 사용하였을 때에는 과수소화물인 $HCFC-133a(CF_3CH_2Cl)$HFC-143a(CF_3CH_3)$가 생성되었다. 한편, 액상반응에서 활성을 보이던 $Al_2O_3$는 기상반응에서는 거의 반응성을 보이지 않았다. $Al_2O_3$의 경우 용매로 THF를 사용하였을 경우에는 비교적 부반응 없이 깨끗하게 반응이 진행되었지만, MeOH를 사용하였을 때는 용매로 부터 $CH_3OCH_3$$CH_3CH_2OCH_3$ 등이 생성되면서 가수소 분해반응이 진행되었다. 따라서 액상반응에서는 용매의 역할이 중요한 것으로 해석하였다.

서모컬러를 이용한 회전 디스크의 레이저 온도 측정 (Laser Based Temperature Measurement of Rotating Disk Using Thermocolor)

  • In this paper, we proposed a laser-based non-contact temperature measuring method for high speed rotating polycarbonate (PC) disk using transparency change of thermocolor. The thermocolor has abilities to change color and transparency due to a change in temperature. The thermocolor is applied on one side of polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) membrane. The thermocolor applied membrane is attached to inside of reaction chamber in disk. An optical system consisted of a laser beam radiator and a laser photometer is installed. Laser is irradiated at the bottom side of disk and the transmitted laser beam is detected by the laser photometer at the opposite side of disk. During the disk is rotating, laser is irradiated and detected simultaneously. The laser photometer senses the transmitted laser power and generates voltage as output. The temperature of disk can be detected during the disk is rotating up to 3000 RPM.

  • This paper presents a multi-scale hybrid simulation for the design of a catalytic multi-tubular reactor with high performance. The multi-tubular reactor consists of shell and a large number of tubes in which various catalytic chemical reactions occur. To consider fluid dynamics in the shell-side and kinetics in the tube-side at the same time, commercial CFD package and process simulation tool are coupled. This hybrid approach allowed us to predict many kinds of meaningful results such as tube center temperature profile, heat transfer coefficients on the tube wall, temperature rise of cooling medium, pressure drop through shell and tube side, concentration profile of each chemical species along the tube, and so on., and to achieve the optimal reactor design.

Polysiloxanes Containing Alkyl Side Groups: Synthesis and Mesomorphic Behavior

  • A series of polysiloxanes containing alkylsulfonyl side groups were synthesized using a polymer analogous reaction beginning from poly(methylhydrosiloxane) and the corresponding olefins. These polymers showed a mesomorphic behavior with smectic liquid crystalline phases. The chemical and physical properties of these polymers were examined using nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, gel permeation chromatography, differential scanning calorimetry, optical polarizing microscopy, and X-ray diffraction.
