The shrinkage properties of the high strength concrete using the cement of Type I, Type III and Type IV was examined, and the following results were obtained. (1) Consideration of the autogenous shrinkage when evaluating appropriately the shrinkage properties of the high strength concrete is indispensable. (2) The autogenous shrinkage prediction expression of JSCE can estimate the properties of autogenous shrinkage of the cement made from korea with in general sufficient accuracy. (3) It is necessary to advance examination which used Korean aggregate about dry shrinkage from now on, and to attain highly accuracy of the autogenous shrinkage prediction expression.

Concrete with low water to binder ratio (W/B) is prone to large autogenous shrinkage. Early age cracking of concrete would be caused by tensile stress induced by large autogenous shrinkage under restrained condition. Therefore, it is necessary to measure autogenous shrinkage to control the early age cracking of concrete. An objective of this study is to investigate the effects of W/B and blast furnace slag (BFS) on autogenous shrinkage of concrete. Autogenous shrinkage of concrete with various W/B ranging from 0.42 to 0.27 and BFS contents of 0, 30 and 50% were measured. Test results show that the autogenous shrinkage of concrete increases as the W/B decreases, and all BFS concretes showed larger autogenous shrinkage than OPC concretes with the same W/B. Moreover, the higher BFS content, the larger autogenous shrinkage.

This study discusses the use of anti-shrinkage agent as the method to reduce autogenous and drying shrinkage. According to results, as for the fundamental properties of high performance concrete, fluidity and strength decrease with an increase of the adding ratio of anti-shrinkage agent, but air content increases. Compared with plain concrete, autogenous and drying shrinkage are reduced by 12~52% and 4~22% respectively upto the adding rario of anti-shrinkage agent of 2.0%. When expansive additive is added by 5.0%, they are also reduced by 38~95% and 15~50% respectively. Therefore, as expansive additive of 5.0% and anti-shrinkage agent of 1.0% are added to high performance concrete of around W/B 30%, it is considered that fluidity and strength are hardly influenced, and in addition, crack by shrinkage can be prevented effectively.

In this study, the shrinkage properties of concrete with the high-performance shrinkage admixture and the crack reinforcing materials applied to the high-flatness flooring of hypermarkets, outlets and warehouses was evaluated. The concrete with the popular shrinkage admixture is significantly reduced compared to the plain concrete without shrinkage admixture for the dry shrinkage deformation, and the difference of shrinkage ratio between the concretes has been shown to increase with increasing age.
In cofiring of multilayered alumina with tungsten, the change of camber with lamination condition was experimented and the effect of sintering shrinkage of alumina and tungsten was investigated. From the exact measurement of sintering shrinkage of tungsten thick film, as lamination pressure increased, the sintering shrinkage of alumina decreased but that of tungsten thick film was not changed. So it was though that the main factor which induced the sintering shrinkage difference between ceramics and metal with lamination condition was the change of sintering shrinkage of ceramics. In case of high lamination pressure, high green sheet density, the cofired specimen showed low camber due to low shrinkage difference between alumina and tungsten and there was a linear relation between camber and shrinkage difference. It was found that this shrinkage difference could change the thickness of tungsten film and the microstructure within via hole during cofiring.

In this study, the properties of autogenous shrinkage and dry shrinkage for high performance concrete using Type I and Type IV cement were discussed. According to experimental results, autogenous shrinkage of SN30(the high performance concrete using type I cement) shows values higher than SL30( the high performance concrete using type IV cement). But the dry shrinkage of SN30 is almost the same as SL30. It is observed that the total shrinkage strain of SN30 is higher than that of SL30, because the ratio of autogenous shrinkage of the total shrinkage is relatively large. Therefore, SL30 is more effective to control or minimize the cracking of the high performance concrete, compared with SN30.

Silk, polyester, cotton, and wool fabrics were embroidered with varying stitch length of 3mm, 5mm, and 10mm to examine the difference in fabric shrinkage in terms of sewing direction, fabric thickness, cover factor, stitch length, and fiber type. Warp, filling, and bias direction of sewing resulted in no difference in fabric shrinkage. Within the samples with same stitch length, there was less fabric shrinkage in fabrics with higher fabric thickness or higher cover factor. There was larger shrinkage when sewn with longer stitch length. Comparing fabrics with different fiber types but similar fabric thickness, silk and polyester fabrics showed the smallest fabric shrinkage and wool fabrics showed the largest shrinkage. It is shown that similar fabric shrinkage between silk and polyester is due to the similarity in cover factor.
It is true that the plastic shrinkage is inevitable. Shrinkage rate in effect at the time of mold design will soon determine the size of the global product. Process for the shrinkage of the plastic that provides how made, yet it has identified a process for making the question whether the shrinkage that can be trusted, and by the experimental results were as follows: as shrinkage, see ISO but, according to circumstances the process can go to the agreement between the parties. shrinkage ratio of the pressure sensor installed in the specimen mold is essential, amount of pressure sensor is that it is appropriate approximately 2-3. proper holding pressure is a significant effect on shrinkage Mitch, so that the effect of selecting the contraction ratio data according to the appropriate holding pressure during mold making. shrinkage CAE analysis results are difficult to utilize in the mold-making chamber. Based on these results, it concluded by looking forward to the improved products produced shrinkage.
This paper proposes a model for simulating concrete shrinkage taking into account aggregate restraint. In the model, concrete is regarded as a two-phase material based on shrinkage property. One is paste phase which undergoes shrinkage. Another is aggregate phase which is much more volumetrically stable. In the concrete, the aggregate phase is considered to restrain the paste shrinkage by particle interaction. Strain compatibility was derived under the assumption that there is no relative macroscopic displacement between both phases. Stresses on both phases were derived based on the shrinking stress of the paste phase and the resisting stress of the aggregate phase. Constitutive relation of paste phase was adopted from the study of Yomeyama, K. et al., and that of the aggregate phase was adopted from the author's particle contact density model. The equation for calculating concrete shrinkage considering aggregate restraint was derived from the equilibrium of the two phases. The concrete shrinkage was found to be affected by the free shrinkage of the paste phase, aggregate content and the stiffness of both phases. The model was then verified to be effective for simulating concrete shrinkage by comparing the predicted results with the autogeneous and drying shrinkage test results on mortar and concrete specimens.
The mechanism of transverse shrinkage for the butt joint weldig of plates is investigated in this paper. It was certified that the compressive plastic strain due to thermal expansion of materials during heating play an important role on the transverse shrinkage. It was also pointed out that the transverse shrinkage has to be treated with the samples of which the shapes are as close to real shapes of welded materials as possible, because the distribution of temperature and relative rigidity of materials during welding have great influence on the transverse shrinkage. The formulas for the calculation of transverse shrinkage were presented and the experiments were carried out in order to verify the formulas. the main results are as follows; 1. For the bead-on-plate welding, the transverse shrinkage in the begining parts of welding is the smallest, the end parts is next and the transverse shrinkage of mid section is the largest. 2. In bead-on-plate welding, the equations presented in this paper concerning transverse shrinkage coincide fairly well with the experimental values generally. 3. Transverse shrinkage increases generally as specific heat input per unit thickness increaes.
