Short videos are becoming more popular in mobile Internet age. Not only people's media consumption patterns have been changed by the rise of this new media form, but also it has posed challenges to public psychological well-being. For many netizens, their entertainment needs have been met by watching short videos. However, many side effects, such as addiction and anxiety, reduce users' subjective well-being instead of satisfying the entertainment motivation after watching short videos. Therefore, it has become a significant research problem in short videos to figure out how to get audiences to watch short videos on a regular basis while avoiding side effects like anxiety and addiction and improving audiences' subjective well-being. Based on the theory of Internet addiction, this study analyzed short video users using the 2×2×2 research method and explored the relationship between the length of use, addiction, anxiety, and subjective well-being of short video users. The results showed that short video users with different usage lengths showed significant differences in addiction, anxiety, subjective well-being, and online social support; innovative different short video users showed significant differences in addiction and anxiety, as well as a triadic relational interaction of short video users' anxiety under the interaction with self-efficacy and online social support. This study contributes to the advancement of internet addiction theory research and application, assisting short video users in avoiding addiction and anxiety, and improving the subjective well-being of short video users, thereby promoting the growth of the short video industry.
Tubulin is synthesized in the cell body and must be delivered to the axon to support axonal growth. However, the exact form in which these proteins, in particular tubulin, move within the axon remains contentious. According to the "polymer transport model", tubulin is transported in the form of microtubules. In an alternative hypothesis, the "short oligomer transport model", tubulin is added to existing, stationary microtubules along the axon. In this study, we measured the translocation of microtubule plus ends in soma segments, the middle of axonal shafts and the growth cone areas, by expressing GFP-EB3 in cultured Xenopus embryonic spinal neurons. We found that none of the microtubules in the three compartments were transported rapidly as would be expected from the polymer transport model. These results suggest that microtubules are stationary in most segments of the axon, thus supporting the model according to which tubulin is transported in nonpolymeric form in rapidly growing Xenopus neurons.

Objective : The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of Interactive Metronome (IM) training on short-term memory and attention for children with mental retardation. Methods : For this study, single-subject experimental research was conducted using an ABA design. We observed two children, twice a week for 9 weeks, which was 18 sessions in total. We evaluated the children's brain waves without intervention and the child's pseudo randomly selected sample of one short-term memory task as assessed in the baseline A phase for three sessions. In the intervention phase the children received 40-50 minutes of Interactive Metronome training twice a week, a total of 12 sessions. The short-term memory test and long form test as assessed after treatment, without brain wave in short form test measuring. During the baseline A phase, data were collected using the same procedure as the baseline A phase. Results : After the interactive metronome training, positive changes was observed in brain waves, attentions and short-term memory. Conclusion : The results of this study expect that IM training has a potential for improving cognitive functions of children with mental retardation. In addition, the results of this study can be used as basic data in attention and short-term memory of occupational therapy intervention for children with mental retardation.
In this paper, a new algorithm is derived for short term load forecasting. The load model is represented by the state variable form to exploit the Kalman filter techniques. The suggested model has advantages that it is unnecessarty to obtain the coefficients of the harmonic components and its coefficients are not explicitly included in the model. Case studies were carried out for the hourly power demand forecasting of the Korea electrical system.
Endoglin (also known as CD105 or TGF-${\beta}$ type III receptor) is a co-receptor involved in TGF-${\beta}$ signaling. In atherosclerosis, TGF-${\beta}$ signaling is crucial in regulating disease progression owing to its anti-inflammatory effects as well as its inhibitory effects on smooth muscle cell proliferation and migration. Endoglin is a regulator of TGF-${\beta}$ signaling, but its role in atherosclerosis has yet to be defined. This review focuses on the roles of the various forms of endoglin in atherosclerosis. The expression of the two isoforms of endoglin (long-form and short-form) is increased in atherosclerotic lesions, and the expression of the soluble forms of endoglin is upregulated in sera of patients with hypercholesterolemia and atherosclerosis. Interestingly, long-form endoglin shows an atheroprotective effect via the induction of eNOS expression, while short-form and soluble endoglin enhance atherogenesis by inhibiting eNOS expression and TGF-${\beta}$ signaling. This review summarizes evidence suggesting that the different forms of endoglin have distinct roles in atherosclerosis.
Genetic and morphological variations of Korean Hynobius leechii were surveyed. Starch gel electrophoresis was used to study genetic variation at 23 loci. H. leechii is genetically divided into three groups, each of which is named as Form-A, Form-B, and Form-C. These forms are clearly separated with 4-5 fixed or nearly fixed allelic differences. At a sympatry near Jangseong, Jollanam-do, a significant deviation from random mating between Form-A and Form-B was observed. Therefore, they are considered as two distinct taxi of specific rank. Form-A is widely distributed in the inland of Korea, whereas Form-B is distributed in the islands or near the coastal regions of Western and Southern Korea. Form-B had, in addition, a significant morphological difference from Form-A. On the other hand, Form-C was restricted to an area near Kori atomic power plant, Kyongsangnam-do, and the genetic similarities between this form and Form-A and Form-B were 0.742 and 0.736, respectively. Moreover, Form-C had a unique color pattern, short body and small coccyx. Thus, it seems reasonable to assign this form as another new species.
This topic presents an inductor short turn testing. From the rudimentary principles, the quality factor(Q) decreases due to inductor short turn. Frequency response varies because of the variation of circuit inductance and resistance. In general, short turn circuit testing is performed by comparing the ratio of an inductance and resistance of inductor in that particular circuit. An alternative method can be done by considering the response of second order circuit which can give both dynamic and static testing, whereas static testing give an error results not more than 2 turns. For dynamic testing, the result is more accurate, which can test fur the short turn number form 1 turn onward.
We derive a generalized statistic form of Q control chart, which is especially suitable for short run productions and start-up processes, for the detection of process mean shifts. The generalization means that the derived control chart statistic concurrently uses within lot variability and between lot variability to explain the process variability. The latter variability source is noticeably prevalent in lot type production processes including semiconductor wafer fabrications. We first obtain the generalized Q control chart statistic when both the process mean and process variance are unknown, which represents the case of implementing statistical process control charting for short run productions and start-up processes. Also, we provide the corresponding generalized Q control chart statistics for the rest of three cases of previous Q control chart statistics : (1) both the process mean and process variance are known (2) only the process mean is unknown and (3) only the process variance is unknown.

Short stature homeobox-containing gene (SHOX) is a well-known causative gene for the short stature in Turner syndrome. The clinical manifestation of SHOX gene related disorders varies from SHOX haploinsufficiency, presenting with idiopathic short stature, disproportionate short stature, or Leri-Weill dyschondrosteosis (LWD) to recessive form of extreme dwarfism and limb deformity in Langer mesomelic dysplasia. LWD is usually diagnosed upon suspicion based on short stature and skeletal abnormalities, and it is rarely accompanied with respiratory failure in the neonatal period. Here, we report the case of a newborn infant with LWD presenting with severe micrognathia that caused respiratory distress, which was diagnosed using microarray testing. Even when the manifestation of Madelung deformity is not yet apparent, LWD should be considered as one of underlying diseases related to congenital micrognathia.
The primary objectives of this study are twofold. One is to examine the psychometric properties of Family Empowerment Scale(FES) developed by Koren, DeChillo and Frisen(1992). The other is to develope a short-form FES. Data collected from 337 members of Parents' Solidarity of Children with Disabilities were used. FES had good internal consistency, but the results of confirmatory factor analysis(CFA) did not support the theoretical factor structure of the scale. Basic analyses such as correlation and descriptive analysis were performed to examine the characteristics of individual items and identify the limitation of the orignal FES. In addition, a series of CFA were carried out to develop a short-form FES. Finally 15 items were selected based on theoretical rationale and the results of CFA. Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ and the model fit indices for the short-form FES indicated that this measure has good construct validity as well as internal consistency. In discussion, usefulness and potential contribution of this study were explored in relation to content development in the area of measuring instruments.
