보조전원장치의 단락부하 차단기 개방을 위한 제어방법 (Control Method for Cut-out of Shorted Load in the Auxiliary Power Supply)

  • This paper describes the control methods to cut out the NFB(No Fuse Breaker) of shorted load in the auxiliary power supply, Generally, when the short-circuit occurs in the load of the auxiliary power supply, the auxiliary power supply stops the operation according to the protection sequence. Finally, the other auxiliary power supply stops the operation by the same fault, To resolve this problem, we suggest the control method to trip the NFB of shorted load. That is, when the short circuit occurs, the controller changes control mode from voltage mode to current mode without the operation of output contactor(SIVK) in the auxiliary power supply. The auxiliary power supply provides a large current for the short-circuit load. After some time, the NFB of the short-circuit load is cut off and the auxiliary power supply Provides stable voltage for the loads except for the short-circuit load.

  • This paper analyzes how to calculate the three phase short-circuit currents for ac electrical system and select the high & low voltage circuit breaker based on IEC60609, IEC60056 and IEC60947-2 standards. We proposed the multiplying factor considering system time constant and circuit breaker rating to select circuit breaker accurately.

  • This paper describes a new ac-to-dc power converter using a multilevel converter. A conventional multilevel ac-to-dc converter has large output dc filter capacitors. When a short circuit happens in a load, the stored energy in the capacitors should be discharged through the load with a high short circuit current. The high current may cause considerable damage to the capacitors and the load. The output dc capacitors of the proposed converter do not discharge even under load short circuit condition. In the case of a load short circuit, the capacitors become a floating state immediately and remain in the state. Then the stored capacitor energy is supplied to the load again as soon as the short circuit has been cleared. Therefore, the rising time of the load voltage can be significantly reduced. This feature satisfies the requirement of a power supply for a load with frequent short circuits. The proposed converter has the characteristics of a simplified structure, a reduced cost, weight, and volume compared with conventional power supplies with frequent output short circuits. Experimental results are presented to verify the usefulness of the proposed converter.

A CMOS Charge Pump Circuit with Short Turn-on Time for Low-spur PLL Synthesizers

  • A charge pump circuit with very short turn-on time is presented for minimizing reference spurs in CMOS PLL frequency synthesizers. In the source switching charge pump circuit, applying proper voltages to the source nodes of the current source FETs can significantly reduce the unwanted glitch at the output current while not degrading the rising time, thus resulting in low spur at the synthesizer output spectrum. A 1.1-1.6 GHz PLL synthesizer employing the proposed charge pump circuit is fabricated in 65 nm CMOS. The current consumption of the charge pump is $490{\mu}A$ from 1 V supply. Compared to the conventional charge pump, it is shown that the reference spur is improved by dB through minimizing the turn-on time. Theoretical analysis is described to show that the measured results agree well with the theory.

  • Welding quality is closely related to the arc state. So, it is very important to estimate the arc state in real time. In the short circuit transfer region of CO2 are welding, the spatter , as it is well known, is mainly generated on an instance of short circuit or on an instance that the are is ignited after short circuit, or on the cases of an instantaneous short circuit. If the short circuit period or the arc time is irregular, the spatter is generated more than it is regular. Thus there is a close relationship of the amount of the spatter generation with the arc stability. In this paper, to develop the index for estimating the arc stability in short circuit transfer range Of CO2 arc welding, the welding current and are voltage waveforms were measured and the spatter generated was captured and measured. The correlation analysis of the measured amount of the spatter with the factors (the components and the standard deviations of the components) was performed, and the factors that have a considerable influence on the spatter generation among all factors were selected. And some cases of models consisted of the factors were presented, and a mathematical index model which can make an estimation the amount of the spatter from these models with multiple regression analysis. Also, it was compared how much the amount of the spatter generated under the selected welding conditions do these index models fit, and the index model to estimate the arc stability which represent the spatter generation most appropriately was developed

  • High-voltage gas-insulated circuit-breaker must interrupt short-circuit current successfully when breakdown occurs in electric power system.   • The major causes of electrical fire are classified to short circuit fault, overload fault, electric leakage and electric contact failure. The occurrence factor of the fire is electric arc or spark accompanied with such electric faults, specially short circuit faults. Earth Leakage Circuit Breaker (ELB) and Molded_case Circuit Breaker (MCCB), that is, Residual Current Protective Devices (RCDs) used on low voltage distribution lines cut off earth leakage and overload, but the RCD can not cut off electric arc or spark to be a major factor of electrical fire. As the RCDs which are applied in low voltage distribution panel are prescribed to rated breaking time about 30ms(KS C 4613), the RCDs can't perceive to the periodic electric arc or spark of more short wavelength level. To improve such problem, this paper proposes a prevention apparatus using the line voltage drop of neutral wire and some semiconductor switching devices. Some experimental tests of the proposed apparatus confirm the validity of the analytical results.

  • A load flow and short circuit fault simulation of AC electrified railway distribution systems is presented with DIgSILENT PowerFactory software. Load flow of electrified railways distribution system with concerning multi train lines and dynamic characteristics of train load is studied for different time laps. The dynamic characteristics of train load in starting and braking conditions with different starting and stopping times and its moving positions makes the load flow complicated so there is a great need in studying the effects of electrified railways on load flow. Short circuit fault transients is also studied and simulated for both power system or traction distribution system and their effects on the operation of the train sets is investigated.
