  • The development of a vehicle-mounted radar to detect the location of enemy artillery is mainly mounted during operation to the mobility of the equipment and efficiency of utilization range. It is equipped with an electronic device responsible for the operation of the radar system. Electronic equipments is performed functionality imparted without an error-specific in spite of disturbances such as vibration / shock caused by vehicle movement. Therefore, vibration / shock resistance is held to prevent damaging from vibration / shock generated from the outside environment during operation. In addition, a standardized and specified cabinet structure equipped with electronic equipment is placed in shelter to ensure additional safety for vibration / shock. In this study, it is evaluated by analytical method with vibration / shock resistance of the cabinet structures for ensuring structural safety factor is applied to the aluminum. It is verified the reliability of the structure and structural dynamics to verify by calculated natural frequencies adding the weight of the cabinet structure and the structural displacement and stress results confirmed with vibration / shock caused by the vehicle movement.

  • The scope of ISO/TC 108/SC 6, revised in accordance with Doc. ISO/TC 108/SC 6 N 35, September 1997, is as follows: Standardization in the field of vibration and shock generating systems, for test purposes (including environment, seismic and dynamic testing, calibration and diagnostics) as well as auxiliary equipment and instrumentation normally associated with it. Vibration and shock generating systems as an object of standardization within ISO/TC 108/SC 6 are only those systems that are used during vibration/shock testing to determine properties of a specimen. Vibration and shock systems being used in such processes as transportation, milling, compacting, metal working, etc., as parts of vibration control systems or household appliances and in health services, are not covered by ISO/TC 108/SC 6.

  • The vibration and shock of the opto-electronic protective device was induced mechanical failure or fail to work correctly. In order to identify the exciting frequency components of vibration and shock, vibration signals are measured and analyzed from the mechanical power press. In addition, the modal test for the opto-electronic protective device was performed to investigate the dynamic characteristics. Some FEM simulations were carried out and then anti vibration mount was made for opto-electronic protective device. Based on the results of simulations, some kind of rubber mounts were tested to demonstrate the reduction of vibration and shock. It was verified by the test that a considerable amount of vibration and shock were reduced.

  • In this paper, the vibration and shock of an HDD car-holder are reduced through vibration analysis and a structural modification. In order to identify the exciting frequency components of vibration and shock, vibration signals are measured and analyzed from the wind shield or dashboard. In addition, the modal test for the current HDD car-holder is performed to investigate the dynamic characteristics of the car-holder. From these experiments, it is found that the exciting frequencies coincide to the natural frequencies of the car-holder. For the purpose of avoiding resonance, some FEM simulations are carried out and then structural modifications are made for the car-holder. Based on the results of simulations, a prototype of new car-holder are manufactured and tested to demonstrate the reduction of vibration and shock. It is verified by the test that a considerable amount of vibration and shock are reduced.

  • Shock vibrations are usually experienced in vehicles excited by impulsive input, such as bumps. The frequency weighting functions of the current standards in ISO 2631 and BS 6841 are to help objectively predict the amount of discomfort of stationary vibration. This experimental study was designed to develop frequency weighting shape for shock vibration having various fundamental frequencies from 0.5 to 16Hz. The specks were produced from the response of single. degree-of-freedom model to a half-sine force input. Fifteen subjects used the magnitude estimation method to judge the discomfort of vertical shock vibration generated on the rigid seat mounted on the simulator. The magnitudes of the shocks, expressed in terms of both peak-to-peak value and un-weighted vibration dose values (VDVs) , were correlated with magnitude estimates of the discomfort. The frequency weighting shapes from the correlation were developed and investigated having nonlinearity due to the magnitude of the shock.

  • In this paper, the development of a vibration reduction device for hydraulic breakers was studied. Generally, a hydraulic breaker generates shock vibrations while working. When using vibration-proof rubber, shock vibrations are reduced, but without this, shock vibrations are repeatedly generated. Such repeated shock vibrations not only lower the fatigue strength of hydraulic breakers and excavators equipped with them but also increase the fatigue of the workers. This paper proposes the possibility of reducing shock vibration by using a dynamic vibration absorber.

  • In this paper, we analyze the characteristics for the driving shock resistance of the military vehicle through the bump test. Prior to the experiment, theoretical analysis was performed by using the SRS(shock response spectrum) and VRS(vibration response spectrum) analysis method. And we estimated the characteristics for the driving shock resistance of the military vehicle. Bump test was performed using the acceleration sensor and the driving test at a different speed. We evaluated the characteristics for the driving shock resistance of the military vehicle based on the result. And predicted values were compared with the theoretical analysis. In addition, we evaluated the results of the theoretical prediction of the SRS and the VRS analysis. And we evaluate the suitability of the prediction method at military vehicle shock analysis.

  • Shock-type vibrations are usually experienced in vehicles excited by impulsive forces. Fifteen subjects used magnitude estimation to judge the discomfort of vertical shock-type vibration generated on a rigid seat. The shocks had different frequencies and magnitudes and were produced from the response of a 1 degree-of-freedom model to a half-sine force input. The magnitudes of the shocks, expressed in terms of both peak-to-peak value and un-weighted vibration dose values, VDVs, were correlated with magnitude estimates of the discomfort. In this study, equivalent comfort contour of shock-type vibration were obtained. From the contour, it was investigated that shock-type vibration at frequency below 0.8 Hz and between 4.0 Hz and 10.0 Hz is highly sensitive to the discomfort than at other frequencies.

  • Major equipment of combat vessels normally require the shock and vibration isolation to maintain its performance against environments of severe vibration and shock. In this paper, an optimal layout design method of resilient mounts for shock and vibration isolation is presented using simulated annealing optimization method. The reference levels of vibration and shock to isolate shipboard equipment are determined from the MIL-STD-167-1 and MIL-S-901 specifications. Through the numerical application, the validity of the presented method is investigated.
