  • In Oriental medicine, Five Mental is a concept for understanding of man's mental structure. Spirit and body is inseparable relation in Oriental Medicine. Function of spirit and body is regarded as one in Oriental Medical physiology. Spirit is the essence of a function which an organism reveal, and it is regarded in the same with life. For this reason, identification spirit with life is special feature of Oriental Medicine. In Confucianism, Li(理) refers to nature's discipline, which everything under the sun shares. It is similar to the concept of Shin(神) in a broad sense and Sung(性) is similar to that of Shin(神) in a narrow sense. Confucianism's principle is similar to Oriental medicine's, in that they classify Sung(性) into Gi-Jil-Ji-Sung(氣質之性) and Bon-Yeon-Ji-Sung(本然之性), that Sung(性) acts upon man differently according to his disposition, and that materials have an effect on Shin(神)'s action. According to mind's action, there are Human mind(人心) and Moral mind(道心). Human mind(人心) is defined as a mental action of higher degree and Moral mind(道心) is conceived as a mental action related to body. It is similar to Oriental medicine's principle in which Shin(神) is classified into Hun(魂) and Beak(魄) according to its action. Yi(意) is self-control and application, and Zhi(志) is a conscious state in which basic acts towards the object are fixed regularly. Those are similar to the concepts of Oriental medicine.

  • This thesis was written in order to help set groundwork of the mutuality between brain hormon and Shin-myung(神明) activity. 1. Shin-myung(神明) means all spritual functions, and Shin(神) represents thinking, myung(明) represents consciounsness. 2. As a origin of Shin-myung(神明) activity, in ancient times Heart(心) was regared as one, but since Chung-Dynasty(淸朝), Brain(腦) is regared as a main controller to manage Shin(神) in human body. 3. Shin-myung(神明) activity would should between Brain(腦) and Shin-Sin(心神) 4. Hormon is chemical substance to serve convey infomations and stimuiate them. In Present day Western medical science, make an attempt to understand Shin-myung(神明) activity of Brain(腦) as a activity of hormon doings. In conculusion, Shin-myung(神明) represent that Brain(腦) inculde Mind-Sprit(精神) activety, and it can be able by the function of brain hormon activety.

  • The intention of this article is to check for the believers in Daesoonjinrihoe how to perceive the gods who they believe in. For that intention, I explained how the perception of gods in Daesoonjinrihoe is different from the perception of gods in other religions. To make a long story short, because of its polytheism the idea of god in Daesoonjinrihoe is different from monotheism such as Christianity, Islam. In addition, in spite of its polytheism it is different from other polytheism such as the religion in ancient India, especially rig-vedicreligion. In this article it is said that the believers in Daesoonjinrihoe have understood the distinction between Shin(神) and Shinmyung(神明). Nowadays Shin that has been used in Korea, China, Japan, is the word that was translated from English god. Therefore we need to reappraise the meaning of the word Shin. Anyway Shin that is being used in general means Shinmyung in Daesoonjinrihoe. Instead when they say the name of functional gods and the name to which the meaning of its origin affixed, the word Shin is used. Meanwhile, it has the advantage of classifying the ideas of god, but we can't explain all of them through the use of those classifications. I checked some classifications in this article and tried to apply the idea of gods in Daesoonjinrihoe. As a result, each classification has some critical points. There fore in this article I explained the distinguishing ideas of god in Daesoonjinrihoe from that in other religions, instead of the explaining fitted those classifications.

Dam type persons (膽體) are inclined to have night sweat, while Bangkwang type persons(膀胱體) are apt to have day sweat.

Neuropsychiatric symptoms in ${\ulcorner}Euhak-Ipmun\;Sang-Han{\lrcorner}$(${\ulcorner}$醫學入門\;傷寒${\lrcorner}$) are explained as Pal-Gang(八綱), which shows those are settled down to a systematic oriental medical theory. 2. Pal-Bup (八法) is used in the cure of symptomatische psychose in Euhak-Ipmun${\cdot}$Sang-Han (醫學入門${\cdot}$傷寒), which is intended to boost the effect of cure, choosing the respondent cure method about various causes. 3. PaI-Gang(八綱) and Pal-Bup(八法) in ${\ulcorner}Euhak-Ipmun\;Sang-Han{\lrcorner}$(${\ulcorner}$醫學入門;傷寒${\lrcorner}$) are improved by Lee-Chun who added Jang-Gi(張機)'s Sang Han theory and new medical thought in the ages of Geum Won. 4. • In this research we proceeded experiments to find the basis which make it possible to explain the physical and pathological process of Sasang constitutional medicine, in the way substituting hematopoietic-immune system(essence of life, blood, Ki and mental faculties : 精血氣神) Under these suppositions, the essence of life(精) is the multipotent stem cell which has the possibility to be specialized to any cell, the Ki(氣), blood(血) and mental faculties(神) are inferred that they are formed from specialized the essence of life(精), the blood(血) is the red blood cells and etc. that appears as the result of the genesis of circulation system. The Ki(氣) is from specialized basic immunity, the mental faculties(神) means long-term memories or combined immunity. Cytokines can act as specilaizing, growing factors and particiate in extremly combined procedure being controlled by both positive and negative specializing signals. Blood gathering was carried out in the morning and on empty stomach. The plasma was seperated and Erythropoietin, Stem cell factor, Granulocyte-colony stimulaing factor, Tumor necrosis factor, interlukin-3, Interleukin-6 were measured with ELISA kit. According to the result of post analysis by Duncan, each constitution is different in SCF(stem cell factor), IL-6(interleukin-6), EPO(erythropoietin). The value of Stem cell factor is high in order of Soumin(少陰人), Soyangin(少陽人), and Taeumin(太陰人), The value of interleukin-6 is high in Taeumin, Soumin, and Soyangin. Erythropoietin is high in order of Soumin, Soyangin, and Taeumin.
