In this paper, an advanced shift controller that supervises the shift transients with adaptive compensation is presented. Modern shift control systems for vehicle automatic transmission are designe d to provide smooth transients for passengers' comfort and better component durability. In the conventional methods, lots of testing and calibration works have been done to tune gains of the controller, but it does not assure optimum shift quality at all times owing to system variations often caused by uncertainties in shifting hydraulic systems and external disturbances. In the proposed control scheme, an adaptive compensation controller with intelligent supervisor is implemented to achieve improved shift quality over the system variations. The control input pattern which generates clutch pressure commands in hydraulic actuating systems, is updated through a learning process to adjust for each subsequent shift based on continuous monitoring of shifting performance and environmental changes. The proposed algorithm is implemented and evaluated on the experimental test setup. Results from the experimental studies for several operation modes show both improved performance and adaptability of the proposed shift controller to uncertain changes of the shifting environment in vehicle power transmission systems.
The vibration mode shape changed by the phase angle that can be controlled by phase-shifting ESPI system is discussed. For the phase-shifting ESPI experiment the stroboscopic illumination by using AOM(Acousto-Optic Modulator) is needed, and the initial phase angle can be adjusted by the program. The vibration mode shape is changed when the initial phase angle is changed. We examined the vibration mode shape change due to the initial phase angle change at each resonance frequency. Through this study, we found that in the vibration testing using phase-shilling ESPI the vibration mode shape is improved in the quality by adjusting exact phase angle and the error of the quantitative vibration analysis can be reduced.
A novel speckle-shifting ghost imaging (SSGI) technique is proposed in this paper. This method can effectively extract the edge of an unknown object without achieving its clear ghost image beforehand. However, owing to the imaging mechanism of SSGI, the imaging result generally contains serious noise. To solve the problem, we further propose a simple and effective method to remove noise from the speckle-shifting ghost image with a connected-region labeling (CRL) algorithm. In this method, two ghost images of an object are first generated according to SSGI. A threshold and the CRL are then used to remove noise from the imaging results in turn. This method can retrieve a high-quality image of an object with fewer measurements. Numerical simulations are carried out to verify the feasibility and effectiveness.
Nowadays, out of other transmission parts, the sleeve is getting more and more important part for exact and smooth shifting from gear ratio change whenever drivers are needed. To exact and smooth shifting when drivers are needed, all the parts connected with gear shifting should be machined exactly and having dimensions designers are intended. Especially, in case of the sleeve that the most important functional part to shift from gear ratio change that drivers are intended, it needs high precision grade and quality in both sides runout and outer dia runout as well as inner spline small dia & large dia. Because it's assembled with the synchro hub spline and shifted directly with the mating cone. So, it should be applied the hear treatment(hereinafter referred to H.T.M.T) to prevent the friction and percussion loss from shifting with mating cone. At this time, the deformation problems are raised from almost H.T.M.T. process and it makes the inferior part.
A novel data hiding technique based on modified histogram shifting that incorporates multi-bit secret data hiding is proposed. The proposed technique divides the image pixel values into embeddable and nonembeddable pixel values. Embeddable pixel values are those that are within a specified limit interval surrounding the peak value of an image. The limit interval is calculated from the number of secret bits to be embedded into each embeddable pixel value. The embedded secret bits can be perfectly extracted from the stego image at the receiver side without any overhead bits. From the simulation, it is found that the proposed technique produces a better quality stego image compared to other data hiding techniques, for the same embedding rate. Since the proposed technique only embeds the secret bits in a limited number of pixel values, the change in the visual quality of the stego image is negligible when compared to other data hiding techniques.
A series of reversible watermarking technologies have been proposed to increase embedding capacity and the quality of the watermarked image simultaneously. The major skills include difference expansion, histogram shifting, and optimizing embedding order. In this paper, an accurate predictor is proposed to enhance the difference expansion. An efficient sorter is also suggested to find a more desirable embedding order. The payload is differently distributed into two sub-images, split like a chessboard pattern, for better watermarked image quality. Simulation results of the accurate prediction and sorter based on the payload balancing method yield generally better performance over previous methods. The gap is wide, in particular, in low payload for natural images. The peak signal-to-noise ratio improvement is around 2 dB in low payload ranges.
Motion estimation (ME) algorithms supporting quarter-pixel accuracy have been recently introduced to retain detailed motion information for high quality of video in the state-of-the-art video compression standard of H.264/AVC. Conventional sub-pixel ME algorithms in the spatial domain are faced with a common problem of computational complexity because of embedded interpolation schemes. This paper proposes a low-complexity sub-pixel motion estimation algorithm in the transform domain utilizing shifting matrix. Simulations are performed to compare the performances of spatial-domain ME algorithms and transform-domain ME algorithms in terms of peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) and the number of bits per frame. Simulation results confirm that the transform-domain approach not only improves the video quality and the compression efficiency, but also remarkably alleviates the computational complexity, compared to the spatial-domain approach.
The first record of buckwheat in Korea was revealed from an old Korean book, "Hyangyakguguebbang(鄕藥救急方)" written in the era of king 'Gojong' who governed the country from AD 1236 to 1251 in the Korea dynasty. Buckwheat in Korea has been known to be introduced from China in 5th -6th century. One of the most famous buckwheat noodles, 'Naengmyeon' had been used popularly among the people in the Korea dynasty. It is true that buckwheat had been cooked and sold in temples during the Korea dynasty, and was regarded it as one of the temple foods at that time. Buckwheat has been cultivated as an alternative crop and buckwheat grains have been used as a hardy plant when the food situation for people was lacking in Korea. Buckwheat was an important crop in a slash-and-burn field(shifting cultivation) of the mountainous area in Kangwon province. A written history of the shifting cultivation in Korea was found in an old book "Taekriji" which was written by Lee, Jung-Hwan in the Chosun dynasty. The area and number of households of shifting cultivation in Korea was 40,000 ha and 135,000 household, respectively in 1973. Fifty to sixty kilogram of buckwheat grains per la was harvested at an altitude of 600 - 800m. Folk songs which have been sung among the people in shifting areas include buckwheat meal. One of the folk songs for buckwheat is as follows; "they do not eat rice with or without waxy property but eat buckwheat mixture." Since 1974, shifting cultivation has been legally prohibited to allow revegetation of destroyed mountains and rehabilitation of woodlands in Korea. Buckwheat has been traditionally marketed as noodle or flour for the manufacture of noodles, and also as groats for food in Korea. Consumption in markets has increased over the past several years. Buckwheat grains are mainly consumed in the form of noodles in Korea. However, many people have recently pursued a desire to make food products of high quality in processing buckwheat materials for health reasons.
