Concrete track on the new railway lines of the existing roads are built on high ground, or less than 400m radius of the sharp curve sectors will occur. sharp curve sectors the rail and wheel friction, stick-slip due to the band of 1,000Hz or squeal noise occurs from the increase in civil complaints about noise is a real situation. In this study, discussed in previous studies, noise measurements for each radius of concrete track and frequency analysis, followed by the radius of the curve in order to investigate vibration characteristics of urban railway sector sharp curve radius less than 400m and 400m ~ 1,000 m further to the point selected track components(rails, sleepers, ballast) according to the vibration measurements and analysis of the frequency characteristics and the results were derived.
The advance in technology of the CWR in Korea has led the establishment of the CWR on the sharp curve (i.e. less than R=600m). As thermit welding used in the sharp-curved construction site is carried out on the curve track, it is difficult to adjust a curve shape accurately and these difficulties have occurred in a number of cases. Therefore, in this study, the lateral buckling analysis of CWR track was carried out considering the actual ballast resistance force. In addition, the cant and vertical resistance force in ballast was considered in order to predict the initial behaviour of bucking in track under the more accurate method.

Recently, due to the saturation of ground structures and the overpopulation of pipeline facilities requires to development of underground structures as an alternative to ground structures. Thus, mechanized tunnel construction of the shield TBM method has been increasing in order to prevent vibration and noise problems in construction of the NATM tunnel for the urban infrastructure construction. Tunnel construction plan for the tunnel line should be formed in a sharp curve to avoid building foundation and underground structures and it is inevitable to develop a shield TBM technology that suits the sharp curve tunnel construction. Therefore, this study is about the structural stability technology of the articulation jack, shield jack and skin plate for the shield TBM thrust in case of the mechanized tunnel construction that is a straight and sharp curve line. The construction case study and shield TBM operation principle are examined and analyzed by the theoretical approach. The torque of the cutter head, the thrust of the articulation jack and the shield jack, the amount of over cutting for curve is important respectively in shield TBM construction of straight and sharp curve line. In addition, it is very important to secure the stability of the skin plate structure to ensure the safety of the inside worker. This study examines the general structure and construction of the equipment, experimental simulation was carried out through numerical analysis to examine the main factors and structural stability of the skin plate structure. The structural stability of the skin plate was evaluated and optimizes the shape by comparing the loads of the articulation jack by selecting the virtual soil to be applied in a straight and sharp curve line construction. Since the present structure and operation method of the shield TBM type in domestic constructions are very similar, this study will help to develop the localized shield TBM technology for the new equipment and the vulnerability and stability review.

In this study, core technologies of a traction system on a mountain tram operating on the track of mountain road full of sharp curves and steep gradients were developed. In domestic mountain resort areas, sometimes the transportation service is not provided in winter because of ice and heavy snow on roads, so a mountain railway service independent of the climate and geographic conditions is needed. A traction system was designed taking into account of the power of a traction motor to climb the gradient of 120 ‰, which is common in domestic mountainous areas. and power transmission system was designed to consider the installation space for the traction system. In addition, a reduction gear and a propeller shaft were developed. An elastic pinion was developed and applied to the rack & pinion bogie system for steep gradient so that noise and vibration generated by contact between the steel gears could be reduced. Impact comparison tests showed that the vibration level of the elastic pinion is one-third lower than that of previous steel pinion. Independent rotating wheels and axles were developed for the bogie system to operate on the sharp curve of a 10 meter radius. In addition, the band braking system was developed to enhance the braking force during running on the steep gradient. A test for the braking force showed it exerts the required braking force. The performance of the developed core components were verified by the tests and finally they were applied to the bogie system running on the track of steep gradient and sharp curve.
The Seoul Subway Line 4 crossing downtown diagonally constructed in February 1980 and opened on October 11, 1983. The line 4 is thus able to link southern and northern parts of Seoul with the downtown as well as with the Seoul outskirts. More than 810,000 people use it everyday. Line 4 was constructed like Line 1,2,3 with ballast track system causing much maintenance cost gradually and espicially much public discontent due to wheel and rail contact noise by railway viaduct with sharp curves. CWR on railway viaduct with sharp curves, 180m$\leq$R$\leq$300m, hasn't been designed and constructed ever in domestic. Therefore in order to reduce noise and vibration caused by interaction between wheel and rail the possibility and the methods of CWR(Continuous Welded Rail) on railway viaduct with sharp curve less than R300 will lead it to the maintenance free system.

Mountain trams are an environmental-friendly transportation system that run wirelessly on an embedded track constructed on previous mountain roads, and can run despite the frozen road. On the other hand, there is some difficulty on sharp and steep tracks. In this study, after possible technical problems were defined in mountain trams running on a sharp and steep track, the design solutions for the interface structure of bogie and carbody were proposed. In addition, a prototype was made and its performance was tested to verify the solutions. Because the difference in the distance of the inner and outer rails on a sharp curve is severe enough to interrupt running, independent rotating wheels with different angular speeds were developed and applied. To prevent derailment due to the large attack angle and lateral force caused by the previous vehicle of 2bogie-and-1carbody on the sharp curve, a vehicle with 1bogie-and-1carbody was designed and applied. A prototype vehicle of 1bogie-and-1carbody with independent rotating wheels was made to improve the performance during the test running on a small track. A coupler was designed to absorb the large rotations of 3 degrees-of-freedom between the carbodies of a mountain tram running on the steep curved track. After a small scale prototype was made, the performance was verified by a function test.

Pencil-curve machining, which is a single-pass ball-end milling along a concave edge on adie surface, is widely employed in die-surface machining. The cutter-path used for pencil-curve machining, which is the trajectory of the “ball-center point” of a ball-endmill sliding along a concave-edge region on the die surface, is called pencil-curve. Presented in the paper is a pencil-curve tracing algorithm in which “concave-type” sharp edges are computed from a “virtually digitized” model of the tool-envelope surface. The resulting “initial” pencil-cures are then refuted by applying a series of fairing operations. illustrative examples and methods for enhancing accuracy are also presented. The proposed pencil-curve tracing algorithm has been successfully implemented in a commercial CAM system specialized in die-machining and in the CAD/CAM system CATIA.
The aim of this study was to describe growth patterns of mice using Gompertz model. Two distinct types of mice, laboratory mouse $CF_{\sharp1}$ (Mus musculus domesticus) and Yonakuni wild mouse (Yk, Mus musculus molossinus yonakuni) were used. From all possible crosses, there were two parental types and two reciprocal $F_1$ crosses obtained. Individual body weights were measured weekly from birth to ten weeks of age on 321 mice. Standardization to six mice was conducted and only first litters were used. Growth curve parameters were estimated to fit growth data. The results showed that growth among genetic groups were significantly different (p < 0.05) for both sexes, in which parental type of $CF_{\sharp1}$ and Yk had the highest and the smallest values, respectively. Meanwhile, reciprocal $F_1$ crosses were intermediate between parental types. It was concluded that Gompertz model provided and excellent fit for the growth data with a high coefficient determination $(R^2 = 0.999)$.

The extent of slack is correlative with the wheelbase of vehicle as well as the distance between the inner faces of flanges. Since the movable clearance of wheel flange is getting reduced in curved track, the vehicle is more difficult to negotiate the track. By this reason, a certain extent of slack is normally designed for curved track to allow the movable clearance corresponding to that of straight track. In case of some foreign railways,. the fixed extent of slack has been classified by the ranges of curve radius. In case of KNR, the slack is calculated by a formula for each case of curve radius and it therefore seems quite precise method. However, since there is a wide range of slack adjustment $(S'=0\~15mm)$ in calculation formula itself, too excessive or too little slack can be calculated. This study is to approach the technical review on slack calculation and to offer the reasonable slack design through the full-scale experiment at sharp curved track without slack.
The weight decrease curves of 18 kinds of polymers have been measured by thermobalance at the same condition where temperature is increased $1^{\circ}C$ per minutes under nitrogen or air atmosphere. The curves are further differentiated to obtain rate curve of weight decrease. Those curve offer a method to compare relative thermal stability, effects of oxygen or modes of thermal degradation of polymers qualitatively. The curves could be classified into following four types: Polystyrene, polymethylmethacrylate and acetal polymer belong to the first type. Those polymers depolymerize mainly into corresponding monomers, weight decrease curves are steepy up to perfect vaporization of polymers and rate curves show a relatively sharp peak. (Type I) Polyvinyl chloride represents the second type. This polymer decomposes with splitting off of hydrogen chloride. The thermogravimetric curve rises rapidly at first, then level off at the moderate weight decrease and gradually rises. Polyvinyl acetate also belongs to this class. (Type II) The modification of the second type is represented by polyester. The curve at the early stage is less steep, the leveling off at the next stage is less clear and the final rising of the curve is steeper than the normal second type. Polyamide, polyurethane, and polycarbonate belong to this type. (Type II') The thermal decomposition of the third type polymers is more complex than that of others. Various irregular chain scissions including side chain splitting and depolymerization to monomers occur simultaneously. The weight of the polymer decreases gradually and the rate curve does not show sharp peaks. Polyvinyl alcohol and diene polymers belong to this type. (Type III) Generally, polycondensation polymers are more stable toward heat than addition polymers and polymers having aromatic nucleus show good thermal stability. Polymers having tertiary carbon atoms such as polystyrene or polypropylene and acetal resin start decomposition under airatmosphere at the temprature below $50^{\circ}C$ or more of the temperature where the polymers start decomposition under nitrogen atmosphere.
