  • Generally, it is very difficult to inspect geometric shape of large 2D objects after machining. To maintain the accuracy for inspection, a robot vision is used to divide overall shape into several enlarged images, and image processing technique is applied to acquire one minute geometric contour. The inspection is to compare the NC data with the measured contour data by the vision system, and the algorithm is to rotate to minimize the maximum deviation coinciding two geometric centers. This paper experimentally shows that the proposed inspection algorithm is very useful fur a large machined object.

  • The purpose of the study was to provide scientific and accurate data of head shape for men. This study was carried out on 214 men and Factor analysis, Cluster analysis, Duncan analysis with 15 variables were performed using the data. A 3D scanner was used for visual results of head shape. The results were as follows. First, through factor analysis of the variables, three factors were extracted upon factor scores. The first factor described thickness part, and second factor described width parts and the third factor described vertical length parts. Four clusters represented characteristics of men's head types. Type 1 had a larger head thickness, type 2 had a smaller thickness and smaller width. type 4 had a generally larger head. In the distribution of the four clusters, type 1 was distributed 34%. Type 4 was distributed 23%. According to the results, type 1 of the more thick and narrow head was dominant among head types of men.

  • In order to present a space in details, it is indispensable to acquire 3D shape and texture simultaneously from the same platform. 3D shape is acquired by Laser Scanner as point cloud data, and texture is acquired by CCD sensor. Positioning data is acquired by IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit). All the sensors and equipments are assembled on a hand-trolley. In this research, a method of integrating the 3D shape and texture for automated construction of Digital Surface Model is developed. This Digital Surface Model is applied for efficient feature extraction. More detailed extraction is possible , because 3D Digital Surface Model has both 3D shape and texture information.

  • The purpose of this study is to provide basic information for the development of well-fitting and comfortable brassieres for women in their 30s, based on the classification of breast shapes by utilizing 3D body measurement data of women in the age group. The result of processing the measurements from the 3D body scan data through RapidForm 2006 shows that while the vertical body measurements decrease, the horizontal measurements, which indicates the degree of obesity, increase proportionally with age. Also, the relevant measurements for upper breasts increase proportionally with age, while the measurements for lower part of the breasts decrease as the degree of sagging increases. Four composition factors of the breasts were identified through the factor analysis: Factor 1 is the level of volume in the breasts and the surrounding area; Factor 2 is the position of nipples and the shape of upper part of breasts; Factor 3 is the position and vertical length of the breasts; Factor 4 is the shape of lower part of breasts; and Factor 5 is the shape of inner part of breasts and degree of width between both breasts. The breasts have been categorized into three distinctive shapes: Breast Shape 1, Breast Shape 2 and Breast Shape 3. According to the results of the cluster analysis, the largest percentage (36.68%) of women in their 30s falls into the category of Breast Shape 2 with small volume and flat upper breasts, followed by Breast Shape 1 (32.66%) with large volume in the upper and lower parts of breasts, and large side to side area, and Breast Shape 3 (30.65%) with average volume and width between breasts.

  • Gas-liquid 2 phase processes are usually used in chemical, biochemical, environmental engineering and food process. For optimizing these processes, understanding bubble's precise movement and shape are needed. Bubble's movement and shape are effected by liquid's properties-viscosity, surface tension and bubble's properties-size, velocity. This paper deals with experimental data of bubble's movement and shape in high viscous silicone oil. Also, drag coefficient and deformation factor given by other researcher's papers and books are used to predicting and comparing bubble's terminal velocity, drag coefficient, deformation factor and shape with experimental value. Experimental data show that bubble moves faster when it moves in lower viscous silicone oil and it's drag coefficient is bigger when it moves in high viscous silicone oil. Bubble's shape is close to sphere when moving in high viscous silicone. Formulas proposed by Batchelor expect most accurate prediction for bubble's velocity and drag coefficient. Bubble's 2D shape predicted by Batchelor's energy balance, drag coefficient and deformation factor show excellent agreement with experimental bubble's 2D shape.

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the perception between real and ideal body shapes of college students and to investigate the preferred body shape of college students. The research subjects numbered one hundred forty five male and female students, aged 20 to 29, who lived in Gwangju and Chonnam province. The anthropometric data was collected including both direct and indirect measurements. The data was analyzed by mean and standard deviation, t-test, and factor analysis. The results of t-test showed the significant difference($p{\leq}.001$) between real body size and ideal body size. The result showed that male students want to have bigger chest circumference and a taller height than their real body, the research also showed that the female students want to have a narrow bust and hip width along with a taller height than real body. Regarding ideal body shape, male students pursued bigger height and want an inverted-triangle body shape. On the other hand, female students pursued bigger height and slim body shape. This study established the factors(dimension of torso, height, the side shape of torso, and shoulder shape) as the perception between real and ideal body shapes. In terms of real body, the factor analysis shows two contrasting results in which the height is the most important factor for female students, while the torso dimension is the most important factor for male students. In terms of ideal body, the height factor is the most important for both the male and female students.

  • Data from 540 subjects (included in the obesity group whose BMI was over 25) was selected from 2,445 subjects in the $6^{th}$ Korean Body Size Survey. A total of 25 direct measurements were selected for the relevant literature lower body size measurement analysis, that included 9 components related to BMI, height and circumferences, 3 components related to width and thickness, 5 components related to length, 3 components related to height, and 2 other components. Descriptive statistics, factor analysis, cluster analysis and variance analysis were executed using PASW 18.0 to analyze the data. In accordance with the factor analysis results to classify the lower body shape of overweight women in their 20s to 60s whose BMI was over 25, 4 factors were identified (lower body volume, leg volume, lower body length and leg length). A total of 4 lower body shapes of overweight women were found through cluster analysis using 4 factor scores from the factor analysis. Body Shape 1 had the largest lower body and leg volume. It was the heaviest group. Leg length was at a normal level. Body Shape 1 was 22.2% (122 subjects). Body Shape 2 had the longest legs and the smallest body shape; however, Body Shape 2 was the leg obesity group with the largest leg volume. It was 39.8% (215 subjects). Body Shape 3 had a smaller leg volume in proportion to the lower body thickness and a long lower body length. It comprised 27.8% (150 subjects). Body Shape 4 comprised 9.8% (53 subjects) with the shortest leg. Its lower body obesity was at a normal level.

  • The study analyzed the body shape perception, weight control attitude, nutrition knowledge, and dietary habits of 529 high school students in Jeju surveyed from January 14-18, 2008 according to students' body shape satisfaction, with the aim of providing basic nutritional education data to aid in appropriate weight control for high school students. The data were analyzed by descriptive analysis, T-test, Chi-square test, ANOVA, and Pearson's correlation coefficients, using the SPSS Win 12.0 program. The body mass index (BMI) of subjects was in the normal range. With regard to weight distribution, 59.4% of subjects showed normal weight and girls were significantly more underweight than boys. More girls considered themselves to be fatter than boys and tended to be increasingly dissatisfied with their body shape. Both boys and girls were more interested in weight control for obesity and were significantly less satisfied with their body shape. Efforts at weight control and reduction had occurred significantly more often for girls than for boys. Dietary attitude scores were significantly higher in girls than boys. BMI positively correlated to weight control concern and nutrition knowledge positively correlated to dietary attitude. BMI negatively correlated to the body shape satisfaction, which in turn negatively correlated to food ingestion disorders. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a systematic nutrition educational program that can induce changes in dietary behavior and increase accurate perception and satisfaction of body shape.

  • In this paper, we describe a method for fuzzy polynomial regression analysis for fuzzy input-output data using shape preserving operations based on Tanaka’s approach. Shape preserving operations simplifies the computation of fuzzy arithmetic operations. We derive the solution using general linear program.
