THE EFFECTS OF DIFFERENT SHADING OF MULCHING ON YIELD OF ROOT AND QUALITY IN PANAX GINSENG

  • This experiment was on the purpose to study the effects of different shading of Mulching treatments on the quality and yield of ginseng root. This experiment were conducted at Mei-Feng for one year, from July, 1972 to July, 1973. The variety been used was introduced Korea Panax ginsvng. Three different Shading of Mulching treatments have been studied. The results were summerized as follows: 1. The growth of ginseng plant is good under around 4,300 Lux of light intensity. Fig . showed the shadow treatment of straw had a better effect than that of black or grey plastic film. The differences between treatments were significant. 2. The adequate soil temperature for ginseng culture was in the range of $16-18^{\circ}C$. Fig 2. showed that there were significant differences among treatments, of which the straw shadow treatment had the best effect. 3. The growth of ginseng plant was greatly affected wth various shadow treatments. Fig 1. showed both straw and black plastic film treatments had a better effects on growth of stem, leaf area and leaf numbers. 4. Fig. 2. 3. 4. 5 indicated there were distingished differences among all treatments. The straw and black plastics film mulching treatments had a better effects on root length, root diameter, root weight and leaf weight than the grey plastic film. 5. The amount of plant alkaloids and panacene content had related to the shadow treatment, as showed in Fig. 6 and 7 that straw shadow treatment had greatly increased the procuction of plant alkaloids and panacene content. 6. The quality and yield of roots of ginseng greatly affected by different shading of mulching treatments.

  • 차광기간이 다른 재배환경이 다엽의 무기성분, 유리아미노산, 지방산 함량에 미치는 영향을 검토한 결과는 다음과 같다. 차광기간이 경과할수록 $NH_4^+$, $K^+$. $Mg^{++}$, $PO_4^{--}$함량은 증가하였으나 $Na^+$, $Ca^{++}$, $F^-$, $Cl^-$, $No_3^-$, $So_4^{--}$ 함량은 감소하는 경향이였다. 전질소 함량은 55% 10일+95% 5일 처리구에서 6.07%로 가장 높았고, 유리아미노산의 경우 차광처리구가 무처리구에 비해 $20~80mg/100g$정도 함량이 더 많았다. Theanine함량은 55% 10일+95% 5일 처리구에서 1834mg/100g으로 가장 많았고, 무처리에서 1247mg/100g으로 가장 적었는데, 지방산 함량은 55% 15일+95% 일 처리구에서 3164mg/100g으로 가장 많았고, 55% 5일+95% 5일 처리구에서 2435mg/100g으로 가장 적었다.

임간재배 시 차광과 부엽토 처리에 따른 갯기름나물의 생장 및 광합성 특성 (Characteristics of Growth and Photosynthesis of Peucedanum japonicum by Shading and Leaf Mold Treatment in Forest Farming)

  • 본 연구는 수요가 증가되고 있는 산채인 갯기름나물을 대상으로 임간재배지 내 차광과 부엽토가 갯기름나물의 생장 및 광합성 특성에 미치는 영향을 조사하여 보다 고품질의 갯기름나물을 생산하는 것뿐만 아니라 생산량 증대 및 친환경 재배기술 개발에 이바지하고자 하였다. 실험은 전광 및 35%, 50%, 75% 차광으로 총 4차광처리와 부엽토처리(대조구, 침엽부엽토, 활엽부엽토)를 하였다. 초장, 줄기직경, 근원직경, 줄기수, 건중량은 전광 내 활엽부엽토에서 가장 높았으며, 엽면적, 엽장, 엽폭은 35% 차광 내 활엽부엽토에서 가장 높았다. 광합성, 기공전도도, 증산율, 수분이용효율은 전광 내 활엽부엽토에서 가장 높았다. 특히, 광합성률은 모든 차광에서 활엽부엽토가 높게 조사되었으며, 차광률이 높아질수록 낮아지는 경향을 보였다. 따라서 갯기름나물을 친환경적으로 재배하기 위해서는 임간재배에서 35% 차광(상대광도 51.1%) 후 활엽부엽토를 이용하는 것이 가장 좋은 생장을 보여 생산량 증대와 고품질 갯기름나물의 생산에 가장 효과적일 것으로 판단된다.

  • 나리속(屬) 식물의 촉성재배에 있어 계통 및 품종별 차광정도와 기간에 따른 생육반응을 조사하였다. 초장은 초기차광에 의해 차광율이 높아짐에 따라 'Gelria'와 ' Casablanca'는 초장이 길어진 반면 'Jolanda'와 'Land'는 오히려 짧아지는 경향이었다. 또한 연속차광에 의해 'Gelria'를 제외한 3품종은 차광율이 높아짐에 따라 초장이 길어졌으나 'Gelria'의 초장은 대조구에 비해 차광구에서 초장이 짧았다. 개화는 생육초기에 차광함으로써 'Gelria'의 경우 차광율이 높아질수록 blasting의 발생이 많아지고 개화소요일수(開花所要日數)가 단축되었으나 암처리에 의해 다시 개화소요일수(開花所要日數)가 길어졌다. 다른 품종들은 큰 차이를 보이지 않았으나 암처리구에서 'Jolanda'의 경우 blasting이 15.7% 발생하였고 'Dream land'와 'Casablanca'는 착화수(着花數)가 감소되었다. 연속 차광함으로써 'Gelria'의 경우 차광정도에 관계없이 차광에 의해 화아(花芽)가 형성되지 않았고 'Jolanda'는 75%차광구, 'Dream Land'는 50%차광구부터 각각 화수(花數)가 줄어들었으며 꽃크기도 작아졌고 'Dream Land'는 75% 차광하에서 화아(花芽)가 형성되지 않았다. 그러나 'Casablanca'는 차광구에서 단지 개화소요일수(開花所要日數)만 길어졌다. 신구(新球)의 비대(肥大)는 생육초기 차광구에서 단지 'Casablanca' 품종만 차광에 의해 신구(新球)의 비대(肥大)가 저조하였고 다른 품종들은 차이가 없었다. 그러나 연속차광에 의해서는 공시품종 모두 차광에 의해 신구(新球)의 비대(肥大)가 저조했다.

차광처리가 바위솔의 생장과 개화에 미치는 영향 (Shading Effect on Growth and Flowering of Orostachys japonicus A. Berger)

  • 개화 이후 고사하는 일임성 식물인 바위솔은 가을철에 집중되는 자연산의 출하시기와 중복되지 않도록 비가림 하우스에서 인공재배되고 있다. 본 연구는 하우스 시설로 인한 차광 (무차광, 35, 55, 75, 95% 차광)이 바위솔의 생장 및 개화에 미치는 영향을 파악하고자 실시되었던 바 그 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 초장, 화서장, 엽과 포엽수 및 경직경은 광도가 가장 약한 95% 차광시 가장 짧고, 적거나, 가늘었던 반면, 여타 차광 처리간에는 차이가 적다 할지라도 차광이 심할수록 줄어드는 경향을 보였다. 2. 엽과 포엽중, 경중, 근중, 지상부중, 전체건물중은 무차광에서 가장 많았으며 차광이 심할수록 감소되는 경향을 보였다. 3. 형성된 소화수는 건물중과 같이 무차광에서 가장 많고 차광이 심할수록 감소되었으나, 95% 차광시 아주 적었다. 4. 차광처리로 소화가 개화된 개체는 관찰되지 않아 광도가 제한되는 시설하우스에서 여타 처리를 통하여 바위솔의 인공재배는 가능할 것으로 판단된다.

딸기 육묘시설에서 차광도포제 이용 효과 (Effects of white Wash Coating Agent on the Growth of Strawberry Seedlings in Plastic Greenhouses)

  • 고온기 시설딸기 재배시 저비용 고효율의 냉방기술을 개발하기 위하여 차광도포제 이용효과를 구명하고자 수행하였다. 차광에 따른 일사량($W/m^2$)을 조사한 결과 무차광에 비해서는 차광 15% 도포구는 14~17%, 차광 35% 도포구는 33~37%, 흑색차광망은 39~44% 감소하였다. 그리고 투광비율은 맑은 날에 비해서 비오는 날 차광 15%, 35%도포구에서 조금 높아지는 경향이었다. 차광처리에 의한 시설내부 온도는 차광 15% 도포구는 $38.4^{\circ}C$, 차광 35% 도포구 $36.5^{\circ}C$이었는데 흑색차광막은 $35.1^{\circ}C$이었다. 흑색차광망에 비해서 차광 15% 35% 도포구는 각각 $3.3^{\circ}C$, $1.9^{\circ}C$더 높았다. 차광처리에 딸기의 관부직경은 흑색차광막이 7.5mm, 차광 35% 도포구 8.6mm, 차광 15% 도포구 8.3mm로 조사되었다. 딸기의 지상부 생체중은 차광 35% 도포구 7.8g, 차광 15% 도포구 6.7g, 흑색차광막이 5.8g이었다. 그리고 지하부 생체중은 차광 35% 도포구 4.3g, 차광 15% 도포구 4.1g, 흑색 차광막이 2.7g으로 차광 35% 도포구에서 가장 무거웠다.

Changes in Chlorophyll Contents and Photosynthetic Characteristics of Hardwood Species According to Artificial Shade Treatment

  • To study the chlorophyll contents and photosynthetic characteristics of 4 tree species of deciduous hardwoods; Betula platyphylla var. japonica, Zelkova serrata, Acer mono and Prunus sargentii were treated in 3 stages of shading; the full sun treatment, the medium shade treatment with 30% of transmittance comparing to full sun, the intense shade treatment with 8% of transmittance and their changes in chlorophyll contents and photosynthetic characteristics were examined and analyzed. Most hardwoods showed differences in the total chlorophyll contents in the order of May < September < July, however, that in Prunus sargentii increased progressively along with the lapse of time. Concerning the degree of shading, total chlorophyll contents increased in proportion to the level of shading. Betula platyphylla var. japonica and Prunus sargentii showed more than 2-3 times difference between the full sun treatment and the intense shade treatment. The changes in photosynthetic characteristics, the range of the light saturation point of the trees was $1,000{\sim}1,100{\mu}mol{\cdot}m^{-2}{\cdot}s^{-1}$ in May, before the shading was applied, and the intensity was shown in the order of Betula platyphylla var. japonica > Zelkova serrata > Acer mono > Prunus sargentii. The photosynthetic rate was $6.4{\mu}mol{\cdot}m^{-2}{\cdot}s^{-1}{\sim}27.1{\mu}mol{\cdot}CO_2{\cdot}m^{-2}{\cdot}s^{-1}$ in the order of Betula platyphylla var. japonica > Prunus sargentii > Acer mono > Zelkova serrata that there were differences between species. Concerning the changes in light saturation point in each growth period after shading treatment, the light saturation point in the full sun treatment was found in the range of $560{\sim}1,100{\mu}mol{\cdot}m^{-2}{\cdot}s^{-1}$ and the level of intensity was shown in the order of May > July > September. The light saturation point decreased as the level of shading intensified and the level of changes in light compensation point in the full sun treatment for Betula platyphylla var. japonica and Prunus sargentii was shown in the range of $2.9{\sim}27.1{\mu}mol{\cdot}m^{-2}{\cdot}s^{-1}$ in the order of May > July > September, however, for Zelkova serrata and Acer mono was shown in the range of $3.9{\sim}11.7{\mu}mol{\cdot}CO_2{\cdot}m^{-2}{\cdot}s^{-1}$ in the order of July > May > September that there were differences between species.

차광처리가 눈개승마 유묘의 생장 및 생리적 특성에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Shading Treatments on Growth and Physiological Characteristics of Aruncus dioicus var. kamtschaticus (Maxim.) H. Hara Seedling)

  • Background: This study was conducted to investigate the changes in the photosynthetic parameters, chlorophyll content, chlorophyll fluorescence, and growth characteristics of Aruncus dioicus var. kamtschaticus seedlings under different shading treatments. Methods and Results: The shading treatment was regulated with the shading level (non-shaded, 35%, 55%, and 75% shading). Photosynthetic activities, such as net photosynthetic rate, stomatal conductance, stomatal transpiration rate, and performance index on absorption basis ($PI_{ABS}$)were the highest under 35% shading ($4.36{\mu}mol\;CO_2{\cdot}m^{-2}{\cdot}s^{-1}$, $54.2mmol\;H_2O{\cdot}m^2{\cdot}s^{-1}$, $0.66mmol\;H_2O{\cdot}m^{-2}{\cdot}s^{-1}$, and 1.3, respectively), and the lowest under 75% shading. This implies that the decrease in net photosynthetic rate may be due to an inability to regulate water and $CO_2$ exchanged through the stomata. Thechlorophylla, b, and a + b contents were increased with elevating shading level and the chlorophyll a/b ratio showed non-significant differences. It was found that the dry weight (leaf, shoot, and whole) was the highest (1.14 g, 0.49 g, and 2.31 g, respectively) under 35% shading and the t/R ratio was the highest under 75% shading. Conclusions: It is concluded that 75% shading exhibited a strong reduction of photosynthetic activity, and 35% shading showed the best conditions for the early growth and cultivation of A. dioicus var. kamtschaticus.

차광처리에 의한 삼채의 생육, 수량 및 당함량 변화 (Determination of Growth, Yield and Carbohydrate Content of Allium hookeri Grown under Shading Treatment)

  • Background: This study was aimed at evaluating the growth, yield, and carbohydrate content in the whole Allium hookeri plant with shading treatment in hot summer. Methods and Results: Different shading rate, including 0 (control), 35 or 55%, was employed from the June $21^{st}$ to August $31^{st}$. Daily average air and soil temperature, which were approximately $2.5^{\circ}C$ and $3.8^{\circ}C$ lower, respectively, were observed with both 35% and 55% treatments in July and August, with no significant difference in daily maximum air temperature. Dry weights were high, approximately 40% and 48% for the shoot and 20% and 12% for the root, with the 35% and 55% treatments, respectively, 8 weeks after shading. Division number was increased by 13% and 19.8% with the 35% and 55% treatments, respectively. The mortality rates of 150 plants were 9.1%, 4.0%, and 1.3% with the 0 (control), 35% and 55% treatments, respectively. At 4 weeks after shading, the highest and lowest sucrose levels in both shoot and root were observed with the 35% and 55% treatments, respectively. At 8 weeks after shading, there was no significant difference in the sucrose content in the shoot among the treatments. Conclusions: The highest plant growth rate and yield with the 55% treatment may be related with the decrease in both air and soil temperatures, resulting in reducted leaf respiration and thus compensate net photosynthesis.

Effects of Plug Cell Trays, Soil and Shading Rates on Seed Germination and Seedling Growth Characteristics of Hippophae rhamnoides L.

  • In this study, basic data with respect to the introduction of Hipphophae rhamnoides L. and its cultivation in Korea could be obtained. According to the size of the plug cell tray, Chinese origin's rate of seed germination was relatively high in 128 plug cell tray, and growth was vibrant in 50 plug cell tray. The germination and growth of Russian origin seeds showed that they were relatively effective in 50 plug cell tray and with respect to soil environment, TKS-2 soil with untreated shading relatively promoted both germination and growth for Chinese origin, the rate of germination was high in bed soil for horticulture and growth result was good in TKS-2 in the case of Russian origin. It was confirmed that the germination rate of Chinese origin H. rahmnoides L. was highest in untreated shading and the shoot growth was vibrant in 70% shading while the growth in roots was vibrant in the untreated shading. In the Russian origin, H. rhamnoides L. the germination rate in 30% and 70% shading was about 50% which was higher than that in the untreated shading and general growth was vibrant in 30% shading.
