  • Presence service provides various information about users such as locations, status of on/offline and network access methods, and number of presence resources required by each users increases largely in mobile environment. Therefore an effective method which can reduce load of presence servers is needed. In this paper, a large scale distributed presence service system which can distribute effectively total presence system load of presence servers using message control session has been presented. This large scale distributed presence service system provides various presence information for massive volumes of users. In this study, a new message control session architecture which can dynamically distribute loads of the presence servers to multiple servers has been presented, and a new presence information data architecture for controlling load of the presence servers has been designed. In this architecture, each presence server can exchange current load level in real time to get variance of the total system load change according to user numbers, and can distribute system load to maintain load level of each server evenly. The performance of the proposed large scale distributed presence service system has been analysed by experiments. The results has been showed that average presence resource subscription processing time reduced from 42.6% to 73.6%, and average presence notification processing time reduced from 37.6% to 64.8%.

  • NGN is a packet-based converged network to support session and non-session services in QoS-enabled broadband transport network. QoS based resource control must be defined to support differentiated services for various network users in NGN. We designed and implemented DIAMETER protocol as the Rs interface, and also defined mapping rules between DIAMETER information elements and SDP(Session Description Protocol) attributes for QoS based resource control in NGN. We selected and implemented DIAMETER protocol among alternate resource control protocols in ITU-T as the Rw interface because of simple interworking method with Rs interface and adequate AAA functionality. We defined mapping rules of messages and information elements between Rs and Rw interfaces for resource control from a service layer to a transport layer. Based on the mapping rule of QoS information elements and the interworking method between Rs and Rw interfaces, we built up a test-bed that support differentiated delivery services.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to conduct balance training through vision control to improve the balance, postural control, and balance confidence and to decrease the visual and sensory dependence of stroke patients. Methods: Twenty-eight chronic stroke patients volunteered to participate in the study. They were randomly assigned to the eyes-closed and the eyes-open training groups. Three times a week for four weeks each group performed an unstable-support session and a balance training session for thirty minutes per set. Their balance, postural control, and balance confidence were assessed using BIO Rescue (BR), the postural assessment scale for stroke (PASS), and the Korean activity-specific balance confidence scale (K-ABC), respectively. All data were analyzed using SPSS version 22.0. Statistical methods before and after working around the average value of each dataset were independent T-test. The significance level for statistical analyses was set at 0.05. Results: Comparison between the groups showed statistically significant effects on all variables before and after the intervention (p < 0.05). Conclusion: This study reflected that balance-training programs involving vision control improve the balance, postural control, and balance confidence of chronic stroke patients. Thus, stroke patients should undergo training programs that increase the use of their other senses with vision control in clinical practice.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to probe the effect of foot reflexology education program on nursing students with constipation, anxiety and depression. This study was a quasi-experimental study of pre-test and posttest design on non-equivalent control group. Method: The data of this study were collected from October 28, to December 14, 2002. The subjects consisted of 61 nursing students (experimental group: 31, control group: 30) with constipation, anxiety and depression. 31 out of them were devided into the experimental group and received foot reflexology education program that was authorized by the World Foot Reflexology Association and made to suit for the subjects by the author for 6weeks composed of 2 weeks theory and of 4 weeks practical skill on the program. The effect of the program was measured by Bowel Function Assessment Form for constipation, State Anxiety Inventory, and Beck Depression Inventory. Data were analyzed by t-test, $x^2$-test, Repeated measures ANOVA, Bonferroni multiple comparison using SAS/PC 8.12 program. Result: After all session of treatment, the score of bowel function assessment were significantly decreased in the experimental group compared to the control group. Outcomes of 6 and 7 weeks were significantly different from those of pre-experiment. After all session of treatment, anxiety states were significantly decreased in the experimental group compared to the control group. Outcomes of 7 weeks were significantly different from those of pre-experiment. After all session of treatment, depression states were significantly decreased in the experimental group compared to the control group. Outcomes of 6 and 7 weeks were significantly different from those of pre- experiment. Conclusion: The results are suggested that the foot reflexology education program might improve the bowel function, anxiety and depression for the nursing students with constipation, anxiety and depression.

  • As various portable digital devices are developed, the space of the TV audience is expanding. We propose a structure of broadcasting control in VOD service in which viewers can resume the viewing of digital broadcasting contents in different devices after they have stopped the viewing to move to another place. Then we design a session and resource management system of VOD for this control. In particular, we design the session management of each consumer and simulate the seamless VOD connection model.

  • Our paper deals with a method for supporting multiple call/sessions in a mobile terminal. The different identifier for each protocol layer is assigned to each session when a mobile terminal sets SDP for multimedia services. In particular, QoS based tasks are used for managing the traffics in radio interface. Also, queuing, admission control, load control, resource allocation and scheduling are done based on the priority of sessions. The various multimedia services which is different in the requirement of resource allocation are able to be serviced simultaneously because a mobile terminal can provide the various services based on this scheme.

  • the multicast services with multiple senders is interested according to the internet services such as multiple audio/video conference services. With the N-plex multicast protocols, multicast session manager is also needed for membership control and session control. RMCP-3 is designed for N:N group communications which is standardizing in ITU-T and supports multiple senders who join sessions. In this paper, we consider requirements of multicast manager for multiplex multicast communication protocol which many a joiner has a role in sender such conference application.

  • Recently, the improvement in the data communication networks in terms of availability and reliability is emerging as a critical issue. In this context, the high availability and reliability of routers that control data flow and routing path between networks on the data communication network are being recognized as critical problems. Many methods for providing high availability to minimize the loss cost caused by the failure of a router are being studied. This paper proposed a BGP session takeover method using the Docker to support the high availability of the BGP session and to improve the takeover performance.

  • The access control means the process to record and manage access restrictions and permits for protecting information in records. This paper emphasizes the control of access and authorization based on the roles and the data using activities of users as task performers. Also, it requires to gain the necessary approval in advance for important tasks such as mass inquiry and change on important information to influence the very existence of the whole organization. And then, it suggests that it is necessary to control some session of information with non-activity for certain time. Generally, this paper is to explain security elements of access control through various cases.

  • The dedicated line linked up with the internet maintains generally the efficiency of network by using Best Effort Model. But it is the problem that we allocate the higher bandwidth to services which request high bandwidth regardless of service types or purposes. To overcome this weak point, we use the Session QoS System which distinguish between business services such as E-mail, Web, etc. and non-business services. But, a recent session QoS system is not adequate to the environment similar to university, because that has many users who have various requests. In this paper, to satisfy various requirements of many user's in session QoS system which support services of research, education, business, etc., we analyze types of service in the environment of education and research network and propose a necessity of management strategies of session Qos system.
