  • Korea's economic development started from early 1960s over war devastation. Korean government drove promoting export with its all efforts. In 2011, Korea joined the "USD 1 trillion trade club" as the 9th nation in the world. It is true that the growth of Korean exports has greatly contributed to the development of Korean economy, and that workers in the export promoting organizations also contributed to such a tremendous performance. Still, there are a number of SMEs waiting for more support from the export promoting organizations. This paper tried to identify the determinants of organizational performances of export promoting organization workers with particular focus on their public service motivation and self-esteem. Our findings are as follows; Workers' public service motivation and self-esteem are strongly related to their organizational commitment, job satisfaction, organizational performances. In addition, the workers show a different level of intrinsic and extrinsic satisfaction when it comes to public service and customer satisfaction. This reflects the employees of export promoting organizations have more focused on the value and accomplishment of their performances in workplace. Women and younger workers within the organizations tend to have weaker organizational commitment. In conclusion, we recommend that it is important to increase the women's organizational commitment and develop more inspirational personnel programs to younger workers within the organizations in order to support Korea's promising SMEs in a more practical manner.

The social workers of this study work at different kinds of mental health organizations(mental hospitals, mental health centers, mental rehabilitation facilities, mental residential facilities). The result from the research were 1) the degree of linking services is low, and the primary type of coordination is sharing of information and client referrals. The fund-raising and joint project cases are very poor. 2) based on personal and organizational characteristics, there arc significant differences between respondents' sex, education level, job-related status, experience in mental health field, mental health licence(personal factors), location, type of organization, and type of primary client(organizational factors). 3) the factors affecting service coordination among mental health social workers are experience in mental health field, current job-related experience(personal factors), education, location of organization, type of organization, and history of organization(organizational factors). Finally, the research recommends that establishment of cooperation system, service delivery system, and information network is needed in order to enhancing the function of service coordination among mental health social workers. Also, mental health professional associations and agencies should provide opportunity of discussion and training for mental health social workers, and develop the institutional devices to expand the content and type of service coordination.

  • Despite the maturity of platforms, only some studies have explored the relationships between the working conditions of platform workers and their organization-like responses to these platforms. Thus, this research utilized the Job Demands-Resources Model (JD-R Model) to analyze the effects of job demands and resources on platform workers' job embracing. The data were collected from 182 food delivery riders in South Korea. This study utilized the PLS technique (partial least squares) to examine the research model. Regarding job demands, this study has found that work overload and physical effort significantly affect burnout. Regarding job resources, the results revealed that service technology support and training significantly affect work engagement. In alignment with the Job Demands-Resources literature, the findings offer tangible proof that burnout has a detrimental impact on job embracing, whereas work engagement has a beneficial effect on job embracing. Our findings indicate that work engagement exerts a more substantial beneficial effect on job embracing, and burnout reduces job embracing. Results also provide novel insights to scholars seeking a comprehensive research model on the impact of on-demand workplace conditions to help platforms attract and retain platform workers.

  • Objectives: Although active pulmonary tuberculosis(active PTB) is manifested as one of the complications of pneumoconiosis, attacks of active PTB among patients with pneumoconiosis is still unexplored. The objective of the present study was to identify the attack rate of active PTB among workers in dusty environments who were diagnosed with pneumoconiosis. Methods: The study was performed using the results of the Pneumoconiosis Examination Council's assessment from the Korea Workers' Compensation and Welfare Service(KCOMWEL) database between January 1, 1984 and December 31, 2017. Pneumoconiosis was defined as Category 1 or more in the radiological findings of pneumoconiosis. Active PTB was defined as a positive result for active PTB in the results of the Pneumoconiosis Examination Council's assessment. Results: A total of 37,946 workers in dusty environments who received a health examination for diagnosing pneumoconiosis between January 1, 1984 and December 31, 2017 were selected as study subjects. The attack rate of active TB among subjects who were diagnosed with pneumoconiosis and those who were diagnosed without pneumoconiosis were 8.5% and 1.4%, respectively. In the multivariate logistic analysis including age, sex, radiological findings, complications, male[odds ratio(OR), 2.0; 95% confidence interval(CI), 1.4-3.1] and pneumoconiosis(OR, 6.5; 95% CI, 5.7-7.4) were associated with an increased risk of developing active PTB. Conclusions: The present study determined that dusty workers who were diagnosed with pneumoconiosis had a high rate of active PTB compared to TB patients and patients who were diagnosed with silicosis. Therefore, in addition to silicosis, it is necessary to include pneumoconiosis among the high-risk groups for TB.
