  • Methods: This study was performed to estimate the use of frozen convenience food in middle schools located in the Daegu district. Objectives: These schools have directly managed school meal services. The subjects for this study were 145 students and 66 dieticians. The study involved a survey on food preference and quantity satisfaction of the students and the frequency of use of frozen convenience food in the daily menu. Results: As the result, 50.0% of the students were not satisfied with the meat and poultry quantity from school meals(felt small), and 25.0% of students were not satisfied with vegetables(felt much). The majority of students (50.7%) who were not satisfied with vegetables said they were dissatisfied with the school food because of the taste. On the other hand, 36.6% said they were dissatisfied because they dislike vegetables in general. As for the use and frequency rate of frozen convenience food, the survey results were revealed in the order of dumpling 58.3% > processed meat 50.0% > chicken 50.0% > frozen marine food 40.4% > cuttlefish 30.3% > miscellaneous 26.3% > vegetable & potatoes 14.4%. It was found that many schools employing more than five workers did not use flour-based frozen foods in their menu. As for the use of the frozen processed food, many schools which had an average food cost of more than 1,700 Won were found to use frozen foods more than once a month. In addition, chicken was not used often at the schools whose average food cost was less than 1,500 Won while many schools, whose average food items cost was more than 1,500 Won, incorporated chicken into the menu once a month. Processed flour food [hot dog] was used often by schools whose average food cost was between 1,500 Won and 1,600 Won. As for the actual conditions of using frozen convenience food, there was a significant difference in the use of chicken in relation with the number of food service recipients. As a result, the use of frozen convenience food has been shown to be related with food cost, number of food preparers, and the number of school students.

  • Objectives: The study aims to compare indirect form of employment with direct form of employment on the variables of occupational danger and physical health. Methods: I studied based on the data of 5th Korean Working Conditions Survey (KWCS) which was performed by Occupational Safety & Health Research Institute of Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency in 2017. SAS 9.4 was used for statistical analysis of the final data. Results: Based on the verification result, the hazard is higher for direct employment than for dispatch or subcontract in case of exposure to risks in the health and social welfare industry. Based on cross tabulation, significant differences were found in the proportions of harmful and safe tasks in direct employment and those in outsourcing in the physical health industry. It was found that the risk of hazard is 2.18 times higher in outsourcing jobs than in direct employment. Conclusions: It is necessary to consider a dispatch and subcontract partner as a strategic partner and not simply hand over dangerous or hard tasks to them. Active and aggressive cooperation along with support from the employer enterprise built in the contract is necessary for the safety and health of dispatch or subcontract laborers.

  • The ocean is a harsh environment and Korea Coast Guard officers often face the threat of death or going missing in the line of duty. In order to promptly identify unknown bodies during mishaps, Korea Coast Guard Research Center has established an identification system using the DNA of its officers. This collected DNA can also be entombed in National Cemeteries when the remains are not recovered. The storage, disposal and quality control of the materials are overseen by the Governing Committee according to the Enforcement Rules for the Human Biological Materials Storage Project for the Identification of Officers Killed or Gone Missing in Action. Approximately 700 bodies are found per year along the Korean coast. An alternative method should be put in place for when identification through fingerprints and teeth are not applicable due to severe decomposition or partial recovery. We believe it would greatly contribute to helping identify the unknown bodies if the storage project could expand its data to include marine industry workers, relevant researchers and those involved in marine leisure activities.

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the variables of foodservice employees's job satisfaction. The questionnaires to measure job satisfaction were completed by 323 employees in the Gyunggi province. Foodservice employees' job satisfaction was evaluated by the modified Smith method(1969). All statistical data analyses were conducted using the Statistical Package for the Social Science(SPSS version 12.0). The study results were as follows; 1. The demographic data showed that 65.3% of respondents aged in 40~49 years old, 96% were married, 68.8% were high school graduates, 10.2% were college graduates and 93.5% were contracted employees. 2. Factors that influenced job satisfaction among employees varied significantly. Older workers tended to be more satisfied in their job. In addition, those who had graduated college showed the highest job satisfaction score(3.03). Subjects who had graduated university showed the lowest job satisfaction score(2.05). Subjects who had worked for 2-3 years showed the highest satisfaction scores concerning their relationships with coworkers(3.33), whereas those who had worked less than 2 years showed the lowest (3.14). Regarding school type, employees working in high schools had the highest job satisfaction scores, whereas those working in middle schools had the lowest. Satisfaction of leaving school time, ‘after 4 pm group’ had the highest score(3.01). 3. The correlation between salary satisfaction and job satisfaction was significant(r=0.307, p<0.001). In addition, the correlation between job satisfaction and work satisfaction was also significant(r=0.444, p<0.001). The correlation between job satisfaction and satisfaction about relations with coworkers was significant(r=0.118, p<0.01). The correlation between salary satisfaction and work satisfaction was significant(r=0.308, p<0.001). The correlation between salary satisfaction and satisfaction about relation with coworkers not significant, but it was negative(r=0.307, p<0.001). The correlation between work satisfaction and satisfaction about relations with coworkers significant(r=0.210, p<0.001). According to this study, job satisfaction and salary were positively related. This study provides foodservice managers useful information for design positions that will increase productivity. Future study is needed to determine the factors that will improve job satisfaction and satisfy the employees' needs, which in turn will improve school food service quality.

  • As one of the REACH obligations, the extended safety data sheet (eSDS) should be communicated within the supply chain under the REACH Regulation. Based on technical guidance documents published on the ECHAs website and survey of EU's recent REACH-related informations, this paper includes a study on details of how to develop exposure scenarios (ES) such as structure of ES, process of ES develpoment, standard workflows and key input data to develop ES with an introduction of eSDS concept. This paper also contains an overview on operational conditions (OCs) and risk management measures (RMMs) that are what to consider when building an ES. The structure of Chesar (Chemical Safety Assessment and Report tool) developed by European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) is studied with a review of the available exposure estimation tools for workers, environment and consumers. Case example of generic exposure scenario (GES) for organic solvent is presented. To guide Korean EU-exporting companies, their participating roles in three steps of preparing ES are addressed.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop the measurement of security needs satisfaction from users of electronic security system, to verify its validity and reliability, and by applying them, to examine the effects between the communities using this system. In 2008, the users of electronic security system in big cities in Seoul(Yong-San, Jong-Lo) and Gyung-Gi Do(Su-Won) for their convenience stores, jewelry shops, communication services, banks, government and public offices, etc. were arranged for a population and 262 of them were used for the final analysis by purposive sampling. This study yields following results. First, the validity of security need satisfaction from users of electronic security system is very high, which means the explanatory adequacy of environmental security need is the highest. Second, the reliability of security need satisfaction from users of electronic security system is very high, in which the reliability value(Cronbach's $\alpha$) of internal consistency is over .765. Third, the security need of electronic security system has the most effects on the group of bank workers. That is, through a close cooperative system between the bank and the service of electronic security system, the more keeping satisfied the environmental, bodily, physical security needs are, the less the in security of this group has. Informational security need has the most effects on convenient store group. It means the service companies of electronic security system offer more services at dawn time and make or supply all sorts of visual information system, which reduces insecurity of the convenient store group.

  • Despite the importance of science education in an informal environment, the reality is that there is a lack of trend analysis research on 'Informal Science Learning (ISL)' and its effects. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to find out the educational effects of ISL and how to use it, and to provide guidelines for future ISL research directions. This study classifies specific ISL-related papers published from 2010 to 2019 and compares them with each element of GLO used to measure the effectiveness of informal education. The fit of the analyzed data was checked for each part through SPSS and Chi-Square. In conclusion, it was found that researchers are using 'ISL' to pursue 'Knowledge and Understanding' and 'Attitudes and Values' among the five performance indicators of 'GLO'. On the other hand, 'Skills' and 'Enjoyment, Inspiration and Creativity' appear to have the least expectations, so supplementation is required in these areas in the future. In addition, this study intends to suggest a direction for informal science education-related program development and future research to various education workers.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the self-status of fire service personnel to identify their effect on self-efficacy and job satisfaction, and to improve the performance of their tasks in the field and perform their tasks efficiently. A survey of 177 current firefighters in the southern city of Gyeonggi Province conducted a correlation analysis and regression analysis through SPSS 22.0. The first study found that in relation to the self-status factor and the self-efficacy factor of firefighting services, the self-efficacy is rather high and the self-regulating effect is very high. Second, the effects of the self-status factor on the self-efficacy were significant in order of type Adult (A), type Free Child (FC), and type Adapted Child (AC). Third, analysis of correlation between self-status factors and job satisfaction factors showed inadequate correlation in all job satisfaction factors for Critical Parent (CP) types, and static correlation in all job satisfaction for Nurturing Parent (NP) types. Type Adapted Child (AC) was less satisfying to itself, to itself, to pay, to promote, to co-workers. Thus, the current strategic approach based on rationality needs to be strengthened by lowering the authority of the Critical Parent (CP) function in terms of self-status factors and enhancing the Adapted Child (AC) function in the lower satisfaction level of the parent.

  • The research focused on plastic surgery clinics in Seoul, which recently responded to foreign patients who wanted to get plastic surgery, to recognize the need for the use of mobile healthcare applications to promote medical tourism and to see the expected effects in the future. For the analysis of data, SPSS 21.0 was used. Based on personal characteristics and medical institution characteristics, the future expected effects of using mobile healthcare applications were analyzed to find ways to help vitalize medical tourism. The result showed that the more mobile applications they wants to use in the future and the higher the number of foreign patients of the medical institutions, the more positive the expectation on the use of mobile healthcare application in the future. Also, the higher evaluation on the need for mobile healthcare application, the more helpful in vitalizing the medical tourism in the future, and the higher the positive awareness. I hope that this research will provide an IT foundation for the and expansion of mobile service app on demand analysis and service utilization of medical workers in order to promote medical tourism.
