방문간호사의 직무스트레스, 조직몰입 및 대처방법과 이직의도 (Job Stress, Organizational Commitment, Way of Coping and Turnover Intention among Korean Visiting Nurses)

  • Purpose: The purpose of the study was to identify factors related to turnover intention among Korean visiting nurses. Methods: The data from 192 of 208 nurses working in southern part of Korea were collected for analysis during in-service education in May 19~20, 2011. Descriptive statistics, chi-square tests, ANOVA, and logistic regression analysis were performed using SPSS 19.0 program. Results: Among the general characteristic factors, young, married, university graduation, lower satisfaction with income and longer work experience as a nurse were associated with higher odds of turnover intention. Organizational commitment was associated with low turnover intention. Way of coping was not statistically significantly associated with turnover intension. Conclusion: Stress from the organizational system was found to be the most important variable that explains the turnover intention in this study. Use of sensible communication methods and introduction of effective conflict resolution system is suggested to reduce turnover intention. Further research is recommended to identify the job demands and organizational systems of visiting nurses.

간호학생이 소그룹 콜라지 작업을 통해 구성한 행복의 의미 (Understanding the Meaning of Happiness Expressed by Nursing Students through Collage Art Works: A Content Analysis)

  • Purpose: This study aims to understand the meaning of happiness among undergraduate nursing students through small group art works. Method: A qualitative study design was utilized. Data were collected from the students' clinical experiences and were analyzed with qualitative content analysis. The texts were a collage and related essays written by 36 senior nursing students about the impressions on happiness through small group art works. Result: There were three categories and sixteen themes classified. The three categories that emerged were definitions of happiness, feelings about happiness, and attitudes toward happiness. First category includes seven themes: hope, youth, balance, values, life, self-consciousness and companionship. Second category includes five themes: pleasantness, joy, preciousness, conflict, and disappointment. The third category includes four themes: doing something to be happy internally, doing comprehensive nursing care as a professional nurse, understanding that physical splendor isn't requirement for happiness, and letting everyday life be faithful. Conclusion: The results of this study may affect the students‘ major in human service area of understanding about the nursing students’ genuine happiness or human flourishment.

  • Apartment building, which has been accompanied by economic growth in Korea, is a home of life and has the value overlapping as housing and assets. The improvement of consumer's eye level and development of related technology and related service development have positive function that enriches society and creates economic wealth. On the other hand, the clash and conflict between stakeholders increase social unrest and waste our competitiveness by economic loss. The term of warranty liability of apartment building is an important issue of defect lawsuits and is only a few quantitative standards. However, in this study, we examined the revision history of the law and ordinances for the reinforced concrete construction. As a result, establishing and revising the relevant standard, there is no definite basis system to support it. To improve this, the efforts to provide the standard for term of warranty liability and quantitative and objective basis to support it should be accompanied continuously.

  • Avoiding the unified productivity that was caused by the mechanical and technical development due to Industrial Revolution in the past, modern design is incessantly evolving in search of new motive, namely, diversity. Further, we live in the age when the propensity that serves public interest and purpose and sometimes shows quite individual character should be considered. As a result, the comprehensive and harmonious trend of emotional design is being highlighted more remarkably. Involving the social background that further respects human dignity, this is closely related to diverse issues such as human right which should be guaranteed and pursued for individual. While the tradition and innovation caused by the encounter of machine and art had confrontation and conflict in the past, the direction has changed to incessant evolution and interaction where paradigm of technical progress and development is newly composed and changed in modern times. The meaning of service in medical area is expanding and developing from the simple treatment to the more comprehensive healing. Medical space will evolve to the healing space that attaches importance to emotional aspect of human dimension which further understands and respects human being in the future.

동물복지 관점에서의 한국 사육곰 구호정책 개선방안 (Improvement Disciplines for Relief Policy of Breeding Bears at the Perspective of Animal Welfare in the Republic of Korea)

  • South Korea had encouraged farmers to breed bear to increase farmer's income since 1981. Currently farmers breed over thousand number of bears, however but the policy measures for breeding bears is expected to conflict the main stream of bear conservation due to South Korea belong to the member of CITES, which categorizes and manages bears under Wild Fauna and Flora Protection Act. Government needs to establish a special law containg the win-win relief strategy not only for farmers of breeding bears, but international corresponding policy. So, we have reviewed the domestic status and international trends on breeding bears, and suggest the alternative strategies of the policy such as a bear park, a bear village, use of species recovery center, use of a preservation organization. This policy should be accompanied with more detailed fact analysis, management agency, well equipped welfare facility and financial preparation for proper management of breeding bears against changing international trends on wildlife conservation.

  • 이 연구는 특정소방대상물의 소방시설에 대한 자체점검을 수행하는 소방시설관리사의 운용실태를 분석하고 개선방안을 제시하였다. 도시 공설소방서비스로 소방검사를 보완하는 자체점검을 수행하는 소방시설관리사를 대상으로 직무환경, 제도환경, 운용환경 등에 대해 설문조사를 실시하여 소방시설관리사제도의 운용실태에 대한 문제점을 실증적으로 파악하였다. 연구에 나타난 결과는 자체점검에 대한 법적 제도적 장치미비로 건물주와 소방검사원 그리고 소방시설관리사 상호간에 갈등이 있는 것으로 나타나 제도정착을 위해서는 상호보완 협력적 관계를 정립해야 할 것으로 나타났다.

인천 정미업을 중심으로 한 산업유산군의 형성에 관한 연구 (Formation of Industrial Heritage Complex focusing on Incheon Rice Mill Industry)

  • The purpose of this research is to clarify the valuable industrial heritages of rice mill industry complex remained in Incheon. In order to clarify the formation of integrated historical setting of rice mill industry of Incheon, we analyzed the old map of Incheon's old Jemulpo area and data on address, locations and happenings surrounding rice mill factories and relevant facilities. From here, we could find out the 4 representative rice mill industry area of integrated historical setting and 2 other supporting service area for rice mill industry in old city center of Incheon. Specifically, we could figure out the incremental stages to establish the rice mill industry in Incheon. In the first stage, the rice mill factories were established near foreign settlement area where trading offices and warehouses were equipped. And the second stage reflect the needs of expanding area for Japanese capitalism with the new landfill area. In the final stage, Korean rice mill owners established the korean laborers community near Korean residential area. This formation of integrated historical setting reflecting Incheon's rice mill industry is the identical industrial heritages and urban structures to show the tension and conflict between Japanese and Korean laborers' life in the Japanese Colonial Period.

서울시 보건소 맞춤형 방문건강관리 간호사의 직무스트레스 관련 요인 (Factors Related to the Job Stress of Home Health Care Nurses at Health Centers in Seoul Korea)

  • Purpose: To identify factors that affect the job stress of visiting nurses at health centers in Seoul, Korea, who perform home care services. Methods: Data were collected in the period from November 20 to December 10, 2008, from 206 visiting nurses working at 25 health centers in Seoul metropolitan city. Self-report questionnaires of the Organization-Based Self-Esteem (OBSE) and the Korean Occupational Stress Scale (KOSS) were used. Data were analyzed by the SPSS win 15.0. Results: Several findings were obtained from the study. First, the mean of job stress was 52.4 points, which was higher than that of Korean women. Second, it was shown that by the sub-domain of job stress, the mean value belonged to the top 50% in the four sub-domains of physical environment, job demand, interpersonal conflict, and organizational system. Additionally, it belonged to the top 25% in the sub-domain of job insecurity, wherein the job stress was the highest. Third, the self-esteem of the nurses had the most significant effect on their job stress. Conclusion: Stress related to job insecurity was the highest among the visiting nurses at health centers in Seoul who perform the custom home care service thus, institutional support is urgently needed to alleviate such stress and secure their employment.

환경복지적 관점에서의 농촌지역 가축매몰지 피해 분석 - 설문조사를 중심으로 - (Analysis on Damages of Carcass Disposal in Rural Area in Terms of Environmental Welfare Approach: A Questionnaire Based Survey)

  • As carcass disposal is increasing widely in Republic of Korea, there is a need to comprehensively analyze the impacts and subsequent damages of carcass disposal. Especially, since environmental policy aims to not only reduce environmental damages, but also enhance overall sustainability, we apply the concept of environmental welfare to assess the comprehensive impact of carcass disposal, especially focusing on the rural area. In specific, assessment criteria were suggested based on the four categories related to environmental welfare, which were 'environmental quality', 'level of environmental service', 'environmental safety', and 'participation, openness to public, and communication'. The results showed negative impacts of carcass disposal in environmental, social and economical elements. Overall decrease in environmental quality negatively impacts the other elements of environmental welfare. Furthermore, there were discrepancies of level of impacts and damages among stakeholder. In the end, we suggest critical elements that need to be applied in relevant policies and regulation to promote effective carcass disposal management.

공공 및 민간 부문 종사 근로자의 우울증상에 영향을 미치는 요인 (Factors Influencing Depressive Symptoms in Public and Private Sector Employees)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to identify factors influencing depressive symptoms in public and private sector employees. Methods: Survey data on 23,602 workers who had worked in the public or private sector were obtained from the 2014 Korean Working Condition Survey (KWCS). Symptoms of depression were measured using the WHO-5 Well-being Index. Data were analyzed using a $x^2$ test, t-test, and multivariate stepwise logistic regression to determine the factors affecting the symptoms of depression. Results: First, the prevalence of depressive symptoms was 41.1 % in public sector employees and 43.4 % in private sector employees. Second, the factors commonly affecting depressive symptoms in public and private sector employees were residence area, cognitive demands, development opportunities, social support from colleagues, social support from supervisors, social community at work, job rewards, and work-family conflict. In addition, age, company size, atypical work, ergonomic risks, quantitative demands, emotional demands, influence, and job insecurity were found to be predictors of depressive symptoms unique to private sector employees. Conclusion: Mental health programs including the employee assistance program (EAP) should be developed and implemented after considering the risk factors affecting depressive symptoms.
