Characteristics of Individuals Affecting Adoption Intentions for Portable Internet Services (개인특성이 휴대인터넷 서비스의 수용의향에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • This study aims at defining the factors affecting adoption intentions for portable Internet services based on the characteristics of individuals creating the markets and developing strategies of the service, which is expected to be the next-generation telecommunication service. For this Purpose, two types of sub-factors are defined : characteristics of individuals including demographic statistics, usage of existing services, prior cognition, adoption attitudes and service assessments : and adoption Intentions including willingness for subscription, subscription period, willingness to pay, types of usage and preferred device. The results of the study indicate that demographical statistical variables vary depending upon the levels of adoption intentions, and that users of mobile Internet services via mobile phones and wireless LANs are highly probable of being targets for the portable Internet services. Furthermore, the results demonstrate demands for enhancing recognition of the usefulness and ease of use of the services and intense marketing activities for potential users bearing innovativeness to stimulate the market of the portable Internet service. The author is confident that this study will significantly contribute to the successful market entrance of portable Internet service, and also to growth in the market.

A Study on the Forecasting Demand of Mobile Communication Services for each Frequency Band Using the Substitution of Next Generations (국내 이동통신서비스의 주파수 대역별 전환수요 예측에 관한 연구)

  • In the mobile communication service market, this study represents an attempt to forecast the subscribers of the IMT-2000 service market using the questionnaire of experts which is the qualitative technique is used. In this study, by using the substitution model of next generations among products in order to analyze the IMT-2000 demand of service, a demand was predicted. And by estimating the market demand prospect in which it becomes the important factor of the IMT-2000 service diffusion according to each bandwidth frequency the politically necessary approaching direction about the frequency was presented. It will be able to become the important part to not only the business carrier but also the policy maker to examine a prospect toward the subscriber of the IMT-2000 service. As a result, the market demand was exposed to be most big when the SKT 800MHz, and the KTF 800(900)MHz were used as the additional frequency. And it was likely to reach to the IMT-2000 number of subscribers to about 35.750 thousand peoples in the future at 2015.

R&D Investment and Operational Efficiency Analysis of IT Firms : Comparative Analysis of Service and Manufacturing Sectors (IT 기업의 R&D 투자 및 운영 효율성 분석 : 서비스업 및 제조업의 비교를 중심으로)

  • In this study, we conducted a comparative analysis of R&D investment efficiency and operational efficiency of IT firms using Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA). We categorized thirteen sample firms into two groups-IT manufacturing and IT service-after an extensive literature review on IT industry classification. We adopted an output-oriented two-stage DEA model suggested by Banker et al. (1984) with total asset and R&D investment as input variables. Then, we constructed investment efficiency and operational efficiency by using Return on Equity (ROE) and Return on Asset (ROA) as intervening variables and operating income and Earnings Per Share (EPS) as output variables. The outcome of the analysis is summarized as follows. First of all, IT manufacturing firms were more efficient (57% on average) than IT service firms. To be specific, IT service firms showed decreasing returns to scale (DRS) with diseconomy of scale. In contrast, IT service firms showed higher operational efficiency (81.5% on average) than IT manufacturing firms. Also, we conducted a Mann-Whitney U test to compare the output of IT service firms and IT manufacturing firms. Lastly, we found a negative correlation ($R^2$ = -.754) between R&D investment efficiency and operational efficiency which infers the trade-off between two constructs

  • Objectives: This study aimed to analyze the papers in the Korean Journal of Health Service Management (KJHSM) (2007-2018) in order to identify the research trends and aid the future development of healthcare-related research. Methods: Data collection was conducted from September 1-30, 2019. The KSHSM website and Lorea Citatin Index (KCI) electronic database provided 605 copies of original text. Results: Of these, 538 studies are original articles and 7 studies are review articles; 23.7% of the studies presented conceptual framework, 58.4% implemented convenience extraction, and 64.7% collected data using questionnaires. 29.3% of key words were included in the healthcare service, and 48.5% were excluded from the submission field. Conclusions: For the qualitative improvement and development of the journal, it is necessary to consider the relevance of refinement of the methodological approach, segmentation in the field of submission, and selection of keywords.

  • Secondary schools in Korea have been faced with with several critical problems with regard to science education, with one of the most fundament problems being associated with secondary school science teacher education and in-service training. Therefore this study, which is a part of project for the improvement of science teaching in secondary schools, had its purposes to inquire into the following are as. ${\circ}$systems for science teacher education ${\circ}$curricular contents and its operations of science teacher education ${\circ}$systems for in-service teacher training and its operations ${\circ}$analyses of problems associated with science teacher education and in-service teacher training. In order to fulfill these objectives this study used methods of literature review, survey, and interviews. The major findings are as follow: ${\circ}$curricular hours of subject matter education are not sufficient for competent science teacher. opportunities for self-training in major are as are seldom given to the most of the science teachers ${\circ}$systematic organization for in-service traings is in urgert need. In addition to there-findings strategies for improving science teacher education and in-service trainings are suggested in this paper.

  • Nowadays, the satellite communication systems provide worldwide or international service through organizations such as INTELSAT and INMARSAT, and the satellite communication technology has brought remarkable changes in the maritime mobile service as well as the fixed service on land. In our country, the international fixed satellite service via INTELSAT is no means inferior to the advanced countries, but to the contrary, we feel ashamed to admit that the facilities and technologies of our maritime satellite service via INMARSAT system donot keep abreast with the development pace of the world. This paper describes first the historical review of the development of satellite communication system is the world, then analyses the problems to bring the systems into wider use as early as possible, and filnally, I will make the following suggestions for the promotive direction on the INMARSAT systems. 1. Estabilishment of the earth stations at sea and on land. 2. Standardization of the qualification of the principal communicator on board. 3. Promotion of the international cooperation for the maritime mobile satellite service. 4. Establishment of the research institute on the INMARSAT systems.

A Study on the Factors Promoting the Usage of WiBro Service (와이브로 서비스 활성화 방안)

  • This study was to investigate which factors promote the usage of WiBro service, and to propose a few of research propositions on the relationships between these factor and characteristics of mobile Internet usage. To accomplish these research purposes, the study defined research variables such as factors promoting the usage of WiBro service, characteristic of mobile Internet usage, and types of user based on the review of mobile Internet service related studies. The study performed various statistical analyses using survey questionnaires on mobile Internet users, and finally proposed some research propositions, based on the analysis results, that could be used in the future studies.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of logistics service quality and relationship orientation factors on customer satisfaction and loyalty in the electronic commerce context. Based on extensive review of relevant literature, nine components of logistics service quality(i.e. information quality, ordering procedures, ordering release quantities, timeliness, order accuracy, order quality, order condition, order discrepancy handling and personnel contact quality) and six components of relationship orientation(i.e. trust, bonding, communication, shared value, empathy and reciprocity) are introduced in this study. And a conceptual model is developed and five research hypotheses are empirically examined using structural equation modeling. The findings indicate that logistics service quality and relationship orientation are positively and significantly associated with customer satisfaction, and customer satisfaction is the antecedent variable of customer loyalty in the Internet Shopping Mall. In addition, a significant impact of logistics service quality on relationship orientation of the customer is revealed. Implications of these findings are discussed, and limitations of the study as well as further research directions are addressed.

Beyond the Quality of Service: Exploring the Evaluation Criteria of Airlines

  • With the progress and prosperity of commerce and industry, time and money increasingly form an equal partnership. Using air carriers to shorten the round-trip time has become an important choice for many people in the tourism process. Faced with increasing competition within the aviation service environment, airline evaluation criteria and the requirements of customers are gradually dominating the evaluation mechanism for air transport service quality. Over the past few years, attention on the transport quality of service has been primarily focused more on land-based transport, and less on the relevant evaluation criteria of airlines. Many studies have shown that quality of service will directly affect customer satisfaction, resulting in the fact that good quality aviation services have become increasingly important. Therefore, in practical industrial operations with limited resources, there is an urgent need to delve into the assessment guidelines that have an impact on customers when they choose an airline, which can be used as a basis for improving customer satisfaction. Through a literature review and a reliability and validity analysis, this study summarized 19 evaluation criteria, using the purposive sampling method and the decision laboratory method (DEMATEL). In addition, this study viewed the causal relationship between the evaluation criteria and the degree of association as a continuing project for airlines. This study selected appropriate empirical samples from two domestic airlines. The conclusions may provide recommendations for all airlines.

  • The purpose of the study is to develop mobile support services areas and detail mobile support service items according to their convention activities and analyze user preference. For this aim, a qualitative to extract mobile support service areas and detail mobile service items targeted to convention participants and a expert survey to analyze user preference are used. Firstly, based on a precedent study and expert review 20 mobile service areas and 43 detail service items are extracted. Secondly, results from expert survey are presented exploring user preferences for detail service items designed for convention participants.
