  • In this article, it was studied how positive psychological capital in the service industry workers affected the service performances by perfectionism and role conflict in the service industry employees. This was to suggest the practical solutions on the emotional labor or job stress that the existing workers in the service industry were experiencing. Upon the study results, self-efficacy, hope, and resilience among the factors of positive psychological capital showed to affect perfectionism and role conflict while optimism did not. Based on this study, the practices and problems of the workers in the service industry could be understood and it seems to improve and support their working environment to provide better services. In other words, these results mean to enhance the self-efficacy and resilience of the workers in the service industry so as to provide the stakeholders of service industry or related institutions with the basic data.

  • Purpose - The present study aims to examine the relationship between small enterprise start-up preparatory factors and increases in sales and operating profits, which are business performances utilizing the National Survey of Actual Conditions of Small Enterprises conducted by the Small Enterprise, Market Service. Research design, data, and methodology - Start-up preparatory factors were divided into six types; business type, start-up history, start-up motives, preparatory periods, and start-up funds to figure out the relationship between sales and operating profits with regression analyses. Regression analyses were conducted based on the foregoing with a view to identifying the effects of start-up preparatory factors on business performance. Results - Since start-up preparatory factors generally affect business performance, it was identified that start-up preparatory factors importantly affect operating profits and sales, which are business performances. However, start-up preparatory periods and the implementation of education among preparatory activities were shown to have no effect on business performances, and the effect of the ratio of start-up fund provided by the founder on operating profits was shown to be not significant. Conclusions - The present study comprehensively examined those start-up preparatory factors that have positive effects on business performances after start-up. The present study is meaningful in that it can provide positive implications for efficient start-up of small enterprises hereafter.

  • IT convergence services, as the main stream of the digital age, are currently on their way to include the concept of Software as a Service (SaaS), where IT products and services are integrated as one. In particular, the recently introduced web-service-based SaaS is expected to be a more developed SaaS model. This new model provides greater influence on clients' job performances than its previous models, such as application service providers and the web-native phase. However, the effects of technology maturity on task performance have been overlooked in adoption and performance studies. Accordingly, this study introduces SaaS technology maturity as the exogenous technological characteristic influencing job performance. This study also examines the relationships among various SaaS-related performances according to the different levels of SaaS maturity. Results suggest that applying innovative technologies (such as SaaS), particularly when the technology reaches a certain level of maturity, is more helpful for managers in improving task-technology fit and job performance. This study makes an academic contribution by establishing and validating a performance model empirically with SaaS technology maturity perspectives.

  • The purposes of this study were to determine dimension of apparel expectations, performances and service quality of discount store and thereby, to analyze effect of apparel commodities dimension (expectations, performances, disconfirmation and satisfaction) and service dimension(service quality and satisfaction ) on repurchase intention. The subject were 363 women in the age of twenty to sixty years old who live in Seoul and the suburban of Seoul. The results of this study could be summarized as follows : It was found that discount score consumers' expectation and performance with apparel commodities were classified 2 factors of the function and expression. On the other hand, the dimensions of service quality were found to have such 4 factors as reliability, VMD, convenience, and facilities. 2. It was found that consumers' intention of repurchase of discount store were affected by such variables as disconfirmation and service quality. While less frequent users were affected by expectations and disconfirmation with apparel commodities, more frequent users were affected by such variables as disconfirmation, service quality and service satisfaction. Meanwhile, discount store users were found to be affected by disconfirmation, and off-price store users were affected by disconfirmation: and service quality. 3. More frequent users of discount store scored more on average than less frequent users in terms of expectation, performance, disconfirmation, and satisfaction with apparel commodities and intention of repurchase. On the other hand, off-price store users scored more on average than discount users in terms of expectation and performance with apparel commodities and Intention of repurchase.

  • A distributed sewer cluster system is a cost-effective system to provide a service application for clients with reliable, scalable, available, and fault-tolerant features. In order to provide high quality services, it is necessary to evaluate service performances, tune the server system, and analyze performances. In this paper, we propose a simulator to generate workloads based on statistic configuration according to estimated application traffics, apply workload scheduling algorithms, and evaluate the simulation results. We introduce the simulator design modelling and architecture. By using flexible parameters, the simulator is able to generate various patterns of workloads with different statistics, and configure system environments such as the number of server nodes, system resources considered, and their capacities. With this simulator, we introduce two scenarios: one is to find appropriate thresholds for the best performance of cluster system, and the other is to find the suitable scheduling algorithm for workload characteristics of service applications.

  • This study is to test some expected performances coming from the introduction child care electronic voucher system, and suggest some policy implications. At first, this study established causal model on the expected performances of child care electronic voucher system, and then tested it through structural equation model on the base of survey. Survey was made through sampling employees of child care facilities in Gwangju Metropolitan City. This study showed that the expected effects of child care electronic voucher system are significant. This study suggested some implications basing on this analytical results.

  • Many Korean traditional music such as Jongmyo Jeryeak and Pansori are listed as UNESCO World Intangible Cultural Heritage and are recognized for their value. However, compared to other genres, Korean traditional music shows various problems such as low proportion of paying audiences and bias of audience age. Previous studies in the performing arts point out that in order to solve these problems, it is necessary to analyze consumers. Existing previous studies on the Korean traditional music performance remained mainly to grasp the influence of performance quality of service on viewing satisfaction at the one-dimensional level. However, in order to meet consumer expectations, not only the satisfaction factor but also the reasons why performing art consumers do not consume performances. In addition, it is important to identify the factors that can cause service failure before the performance, to prepare countermeasures and to manage them continuously. In this study, the Kano-Timko model was used to classify the quality factors of Korean traditional music performances, and to identify the priority points of service failures of Korean traditional music performances through the potential customer satisfaction index. Through the results of this study, Korean traditional performing organizations and organizations will be able to prepare proactive countermeasures for service failures occurring in Korean traditional music performances and establish effective operational strategies to derive customer satisfaction. In addition, it is important to apply the concept of service failure in order to classify the performance quality of service that was identified only in a one-dimensional manner based on Kano model.

  • This study was conducted to analyze job importance, performance level, and job satisfaction of school and office foodservice dietitians. Self-administered questionnaires were collected from 181 dietitians in the Chungnam area. Statistical data analysis was completed using SPSS v. 14.0. School dietitians were 55% and office dietitians were 45%. Of both, age of 20s and 30s scored 85%; the age of 30s of schools dietians scored 70% while those in office dietians 20s scored 79%. More than 84% of school and office dietitians were university graduates. Total average of job importance of school dietitians was 4.24 and job performance was 3.97 while that of office dietitians was 4.15 and job performances was 3.69. A duty that had a big difference in job importance and performances as a dietitian was 'education of nutrition' (p<.001) and 'self-improvement' (p<.001). According to the meal service except, importance and performances of duties showed a significantly high level (p<.001) for office dietitians, but most measures of job importance and performances showed a high level at school. Therefore, in order to improve job performances and satisfaction for school dietitians, it is necessary to develop systematic and professional education programs for qualification improvement and to grow pride and improve treatment as a nutrition teacher through expansion of appointment. Meanwhile, for office dietitians, it is required to strengthen duty education of 'human resource management' and 'meal service management' through education and supplementary training in companies, on which personal characteristics are reflected.
