A Software Development and Its Verification for Implementing a Proactive Service Quality Management System for Mobile Internet Telephony Services (모바일 인터넷 전화 서비스의 예방적 서비스 품질 관리 체계 구축을 위한 품질 측정 소프트웨어 개발 및 신뢰성 검증)

  • Although a mobile Internet telephony service becomes popular with the rapid propagation of smart phones, its service quality management system has not been prepared enough yet. For successful settlement and deployment of the mobile Internet telephony service in future, a strict service quality management is required. The service quality management using a specific measurement equipment has limitations that real-time monitoring is impossible. In this paper, therefore, we propose a proactive service quality management system for the mobile Internet telephony service and develop a software for its implementation. The developed software is verified by comparing the measurement results from the developed software to those from the softwares commonly used, and it is proved that the developed software is quite reliable.

  • Despite technological developments and application advances of Acoustic Doppler Current Profilers (ADCPs), no standard procedure has been adopted or accepted for calibration of ADCPs. Limitations of existing facilities for calibrating ADCPs, the complexity of ADCP instruments, and rapid changes in ADCP technology are some of the reasons why a standard procedure has not been adopted. However, there is increasing realization of the need for effective Quality Assurance (QA) and as part of that the importance of standardized calibration. In this study, the significance of calibration and QA plans for ADCPs is discussed and the calibration facilities for ADCPs at home and abroad are reported. Furthermore, the method for calibrating ADCPs using a towed car and its limitations are discussed. This study contributes to discussions surrounding the establishment of standard procedures for calibrating ADCPs and QA plans, and the construction of calibration facilities in the future.

  • As the number of IP-users are increasing, it is getting so important for service providers to check the state of the current Internet and their service quality by measuring the traffic quality. We describe a general concept of measurement architecture and internet QoS (Quality of Service) parameters, and we review measurement tools. To meet these requirements, we design and implement the Internet traffic management system.

  • In order to plan and manage public facilities effectively and efficiently, it is necessary to diagnose the current status of facilities and decide the objective features. Performance measurement is to provide managers with the information they need to measure competitive advantages. This paper discusses public facility performance in order to establish the conceptual framework for performance measurement for public facilities. In order to develop the measurement of public facility performance, a pilot study was conducted with facilities managers of facilities management corporation of public districts in Seoul. We investigated how public facilities management teams have assessed their performance and collected data regarding financial aspects, service aspects, community aspects, and building aspects. There is no standard format to measure facility performance since building sizes, programs, community needs widely differ. However, it is necessary to have a more consistent system to measure facility performance. In addition, each public municipal district needs to empower each district facilities management corporation to participate in managerial decisions and budget control.

  • In distributed replicating server model, providing replicated services is able to improve the performance of providing a service and efficiency for several clients. And, the composition of the server selection algorithm is efficiently able to decrease the retrieval time for replicated data. In this paper, we define the system model that selects and connects the replicated server that provides optimal service using server-side downstream measurement and proposes an applicable algorithm.

  • This Paper provides perceptual metrics for video quality based on properties of human visual system, and audio quality based on human audition. All metrics work without reference signals, allowing non-intrusive, in-service measurements. A simple and easy-to-learn user interface displays the metrics and saves them in popular file formats like CSV. In this paper, proposed method was able to various and corrective measurement for the multimedia service video quality. As that it was able to application to set up service guide line and the methode of measurement and system for the set up standardization of the high quality video service.

  • In this paper, we study the network structure that can guarantee the end-to-end quality of service in the Explicit multicast network. In order to guarantee the end-to-end quality of service, we adopt the end-to-end measurement based admission control (EMBAC) scheme. For the effective measurement of the network state and minimum influence on the current data traffic, the queue structure, which the drop precedence in assured forwarding (AF) Per hop behavior (PHB) of the differentiated service (Diffserv) is applied to, is proposed. Through a simulation, we show that EMBAC can make tile controlled load service in tile AF PHB applied Xcast network, and the qualify of the admitted traffic is guaranteed. In addition, the performance of the EMBAC is changing according to the selling parameter of AF PHB.

  • Importance of FM has rapidly increased because of its growing business. However, due to lack of clarity and identity of FM in professional areas, standardization of FM became to be imperative in such a rapidly changing global business environment. Facility services are defined as the provision of support the primary activities of an organization, delivered by an internal or external provider. Majority of FM activities are services related to 'space and infrastructure' and 'people and organization' (CEN, 2011). The purpose of this study is to investigate definitions and characteristics of FM from both globally and domestic environment, by comparison with international or national standards, to identify quality management in FM and service characteristics of FM, to investigate the differences in service level elaboration in FM, and to suggest standard issues of quality management in FM service quality. This study examines contents of the European Standards in FM, Part 3 'Guidance on quality in Facility Management, especially for the process of QM standardized by CEN (2011) and explores undefined issues such as service level, measurement metrics according to service characteristics of FM. The European FM Standard guides the common process of QM in terms of requirements specification, service level elaboration, measurement metrics development although it does not specifically address various service levels, specific performance metrics and indicators.

A Study on Developing a Service Quality Evaluation Model for Library Mobile Service (도서관 모바일 서비스 품질 평가 모형 개발에 관한 연구)

  • This paper aims to develop an evaluation model for library mobile services in terms of service quality. First, a literature review of the service quality evaluation model and the mobile library service evaluation was conducted. Then, based on the analysis, the evaluation model consisting of 4 quality dimensions, 10 quality factors, 39 quality measurement items was developed. Delphi method was applied to verify the validity of the model. Finally, a final model consisting of 4 quality dimensions, 9 quality factors, and 37 quality measurement items was derived. The evaluation model proposed in this study can be used as a measure of library mobile service quality and can be used as a guideline for improvement of library mobile service.

  • This paper provides the foundation to settle the new paradigm in the beauty industry service quality by confirming the beauty industry service quality influence on customer satisfaction and loyalty through the actual verification. The scale of this study for measurement of beauty industry service quality is confirmed through the certification of reliability and feasibility with questionnaire investigation after confirmation of contents and preliminary feasibility. The dimensions and items for measurement of beauty industry service quality are selected with service ability(6), tangible(4), responsiveness(3), reliability(2), conveniency(2). And it is confirmed that the level of service quality is changing unlike a beauty-shop facility or cost recognized traditionally as a key factor to occupy the higher position in competition of beauty-shops. This thesis presents the important point of current issue about kinds of strategy which beauty industry should establish in providing the beauty industry service for occupying higher position in keen competition.
