In this paper, the uAPSS(u-APartment Service System) that is based on location-aware technology is designed and implemented for a luxury apartment. On the real luxury apartment the developed system has been employed and tested to provide convenient and secure living for residents. It provides services such as emergency call, intelligent elevator operation, and hands-free door access based on the location of the residents with personal device as called smart tag. It can also be applied to other service areas such as the location-aware u-Service for hospitals, high-rising complex buildings, silver towns, etc.

The automotive industry tries to provide infotainment systems to emerging automobiles. Since the infotainment systems require various peripheral devices and network connectivity, legacy operating systems such as Linux and Windows can be much preferred due to its plentiful device drivers and multimedia applications while the operating systems following OSEK standard are used for automotive electronic control units. Thus it is highly desired that the system software supporting infotainment applications can be portable over different legacy operating systems providing unified programming interfaces. The majority of legacy operating systems support POSIX interfaces for application development. MOST is an automotive network standard for infotainment systems. Network Service defines the protocol stacks for MOST control data, which is essential to implement infotainment applications over MOST. In this paper, we suggest a POSIX-based Network Service so that we can utilize legacy device drivers and applications for automotive infotainment systems. We measure the performance of the POSIX-based Network Service and show that its overhead is not significant.

The Current measures of library service quality do not adequately capture user's perceptions of service quality for libraries and information centers. The purposes of this study are (1) to develop a user-based concepts to measuring the quality of library service (2) to introduce a user-based service quality model and SERVQUAL instrument from service marketing areas and (3) to assess applicability of this model and instrument to libraries and information centers. The concluding section suggests several considerations for implementation of their applicability and future research.

임베디드 시스템의 Black-Box 테스트 자동화를 위해 Test Script 기반으로 테스트를 진행하고 있는 툴이 많이 있다. Test Script 에 기술되어 있는 입력 값을 임베디드 시스템의 실제 신호로 생성하고 또 Test Script에 기술된 출력 예상 값을 검증하기 위해 임베디드 시스템의 출력 신호를 읽어 들이기 위해서 일반적으로 DAQ Board를 사용한다. 이 때 다양 한 DAQ Board 또는 다른 장치를 제어하기 Service 라는 레이어를 두어 다양한 장치에 상응하는 프로그램을 만들 수 있도록 하였다. 본 논문에서는 Test Script 실행에 있어 실시간 성을 최대한 보장하기 위해 각 Service 의 실행시간을 최소화 하는 방법에 대해 논하고자 한다. 논의를 하는데 있어 다양한 Service 중 NIDAQ Board를 이용하여 신호를 생성하고 읽어 들이는 Service가 모든 테스트에 있어 일반적으로 사용하게 되는 Service 이기에 이를 기준으로 Service의 실행 시간을 최소화 하는 방법을 구현 하였다.

최근 웹이 확산됨에 따라 일반인들의 인터넷 이용이 급증하였고, 이와 관련된 정보 기술도 빠르게 변화하고 있다. GIS 분야에서도 지리정보를 웹상에서 제공하는 웹 GIS 분야가 등장하게 되었다. OGC(OpenGIS Consortium)에서는 기존 OpenGIS(Open Geodata Interoperability Specification)의 상호운용성을 웹 상에서 지원하고, 또한 상호 이질적인 지리정보의 접근을 위해 웹 맵 서비스 구현 명세(Web Map Service Interfaces Implementation Specification)를 제안하였다. 웹 맵 서비스 구현 명세는 웹 상에서 공간 질의를 처리하기 위한 URL 컴포넌트를 정의하고 있으며, URL 형식의 클라이언트 질의를 수행한 결과로 이미지, GML, SVG 등의 지리정보를 반환하도록 정의하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 웹 맵 서비스 인터페이스를 이용해 분산된 지리정보를 웹 브라우저를 통하여 서비스할 수 있는 왱 럼 서비스를 설계 및 구현하였다. 따라서 다양한 사용자들은 별도의 응용 프로그램을 개발하지 않고도 본 논문에서 개발한 쇰 맵 서비스를 통해 다양한 GIS 서버들의 종류와 위치에 관계없이 표준 인터페이스를 통해 지리정보를 획득할 수 있다

Recently, with the advent of satellite communication technologies, the network access service through satellites has emerged as an alternative to existing ones. Of satellite access services including multimedia services, the high speed internet access service will be one of the important services. Particularly, the efficient transportation of real time internet traffic seems very essential. The aim of this research is to examine the applicability of the IETF RTP protocol in the satellite access network. The RTP has been developed for the QoS-met transportation protocol of real time traffic over the existing best-effort internet. This paper summarizes the RTP protocol, and describes the architecture of the implementation of the RTP. And also, the compressed RTP header protocol is discussed for the applicability to the satellite link.

In recent years, it is required that computing support mobile user with computer. The advantage of mobile computing is that users may access all their applications from any location, whether they are in another building or a different state. So, Internet combines with mobile computing technology to make new communication environment for supporting mobility. The research for solving the problem of mobility is actively in progress. This paper describes the implementation of tunneling method for flexible bypass between specific region. Tunneling method provide mobile service to mobile hosts. IP datagram's address tranform method is IP-within-IP encapsulation by which an IP datagram may be encapsulated within an IP datagram. The developed IP-within-IP protocol can provide not only enhanced performance because it is implemented in kernel mode, but also convenience of usage to the application developers because it gives user interface as a dynamic link library. Verification of IP packet tunneling was text file transfer program.

It is difficult to find web contents for visual disabilities in spite of rapid growing internet users, infrastructures and advance of computer technology. For the case of usenet newsgroup concerning disabilities, hit rate is even less than E-mail because of lack of accessibility, educational support and economical expense for internet. This paper is addressed to voice usenet newsgroup service by using telephone or web browser for visual disabilities without additional S/W support such as 775, usenet program and installation program, suggests a design method and an implementation example for it. Main features of it are easiness of man machine interface, popularity of access device such as telephone or web browser and independency of particular news server by using NNTP. This system supports general MIME format, is implemented for usenet server of Korean Social Worker's Community and will be implemented for Gomduri InfoNet BBS of Korean Society for Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities.

A new brilliant service using human-voice and DTMF (Dual Tone Multi Frequency) technique is expected nowadays in order to obtain valuable information on the internet more easily. VoiceXML (Voice eXtensible Markup Language) is the right choice that makes the new service possible. In this paper, the design and implementation of IVR (Interactive Voice Response) server using VoiceXML is described, where it connects with internet and IVR server efficiently. IVR server using VoiceXML is composed of two groups: VoiceXML document handling and VoiceXML execution. Scenario part of IVR server corresponds to VoiceXML document, the execution is performed by VoiceXML execution.

An Integrated Outage Management System (IOMS) is a utility owned, centralized information system. Using the Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition (SCADA) methodology, the IOMS integrates different databases and components of outage management systems to improve the quality of service of electrical power to customers. This paper describes the development of an IOMS and its related utility functionality. The design considerations, salient features, component integration, functional aspects, and implementation issues of the IOMS are discussed. Evidence shows that the IOMS implementation would result in improving the overall quality of electric power supply and effective outage management significantly.
