The Internet of Things (IoT) has gained enormous popularity in various fields of industry. An IoT shopping environment is considered an effective tool for convenient use by consumers. Perceived values (including convenience and privacy risks) of IoT shopping can be the main factors that influence consumers' shopping intentions. The current study proposed a research model based on a value-based adoption model, which integrated perceived benefit and sacrifice, shopping attitude, and shopping intention in an IoT shopping environment. As potential customers, participants in their 20s and 30s were recruited through a marketing research firm. Responses collected via an online questionnaire validated the proposed research model and hypothesis. The results confirmed significant, positive relationships between perceived benefit, including both remote control and access convenience, and consumers' positive attitudes toward IoT shopping. The association between perceived privacy risk and consumers' shopping attitudes was not significant. The indirect effects of two benefits of IoT shopping on shopping intention were also significant and positive. From a practical perspective, this study can help marketers and service providers manage their IoT shopping platforms or applications more effectively to attract consumers. The implications and limitations of this study are discussed. Directions for future research and development of IoT shopping environment are suggested.
Purpose - The purpose of this study is to achieve effective system improvement and operation methods for the improvements on the ability of firms'preparation of the financial statements Design/methodology/approach - This study conducts a survey of not only the accounting staff but also accounting specialist such as CPA or CTA. Findings - For the improvements on the ability of firms'preparation of the financial statements, comprehensive improvement in accounting education is needed as follows. First, the focus of accounting education should be converted to the consolidated financial statements, case study and analysis of accounting standards. Second, Financial Supervisory Service and Korea Accounting Institute in cooperation with accountancy firm need to create an accounting education program. Third, the focus of accounting education should be converted to consumer oriented education by providing accounting knowledge with various methods of teaching. Fourth, this study suggests the creation of the committee on Accounting Education. Research implications or Originality - As a result of the incorrect practice of firms'relying on auditors to prepare the financial statements, social concerns about the reliability of accounting information are raised because the incorrect practice decreases the auditor's independence and weaken the auditor's ability to verify accounting information. Therefore, this study analyzes the current status of auditors'preparation of the financial statements.

The objectives of the research are to study the effects of emotional intelligence (EI), reward management (RM), and occupational health and safety (OHS), on employee performance (EP) within a Thai motor service and repair firm. Starting in January 2022 through the end of March 2022, the researchers used simple random sampling techniques to select 88 employees for the case study. The research instrument was a questionnaire with an IOC value between 0.67-1.00 and a reliability value α of 0.78. Survey participants were asked to contribute their opinions to a five-level opinion survey which was hosted on Google Forms. Descriptive statistics analysis (mean and standard deviation) and multiple linear regression analysis were done using SPSS for Windows version 21. The results showed that employee opinions concerning EI, RM, OHS, and EP were at a high level, with the three hypotheses testing showing statistical significance (p ≤ 0.01). The decision coefficients (R2) all revealed relationship strength with RM = 0.861, OHS = 0.853, and EI = 0.731.
Purpose - We aim to verify whether CSM activities increase investment efficiency, and to verify whether the influence of CSM activities on investment efficiency is discriminatory depending on whether or not they belong to chaebol. Design/methodology/approach - Using 4,701 Korean firm-year observations over the 2011-2017 period, we used multiple regression analysis. CSM is measured by the evaluation score of the Korea Corporate Governance Service (KCGS). Findings - Our study confirms that CSM is a significantly positive relationship with investment efficiency. This shows that, as a result of CSM, the increased earnings quality acts as an incentive to increase investment efficiency. Next, in analysis of a dataset into two groups (a chaebol, non-chaebol), the results show that the relationship between CSM and investment efficiency differs among detailed indicator activities depending on whether or not they belong to chaebol. Research implications or Originality - It is significant that this study focused on and analyzed CSM as a determinant of investment efficiency, and examined the effects of whether or not it belongs to chaebol in the relationship between CSM and investment efficiency. Our results, which suggested that CSM can increase investment efficiency, are expected to provide important implications not only for managers but also for investors and supervisors.
Purpose: Based on the resource-based view and the competitive advantage theory, the study views marketing capabilities (product, pricing, delivery/inventory, and promotional support) as sources of competitive advantage (differentiation advantage and low-cost advantage) and examines their impacts on competitive advantage, which in turn, will influence non-business and business performance. Research design, data and methodology: Data were collected from 149 representatives of franchising companies in South Korea and analyzed with SmartPLS 3.3.7. Results: First, promotional support and product have a significant impact on differentiation advantage. Second, pricing and promotional support have a significant impact on low-cost advantage. Third, differentiation advantage has an influence on non-financial and financial business performance. Fourth, low-cost advantage has an impact on non-financial performance but has no significant direct impact on financial performance. Fifth, non-financial performance is related to financial performance. Finally, the result of IPMA shows that importance and performance values of exogeneous variables are different depending on firm size. Conclusions: The findings suggest that franchisors should focus on different marketing capabilities depending on their strategic focus and objectives. Finally, the findings based on an IPMA suggest that small companies perceive low-cost advantage as important, while their counterparts do not. Several theoretical and managerial implications are offered.

This study examined the influence of three elements of individual entrepreneurial orientation (IEO), namely innovativeness, risk-taking, and proactiveness on the performance of small and medium enterprises (SMEs). It is worth noting that SMEs have experienced low productivity, low profit, and low performance during the COVID-19 pandemic era. Although several studies have shown that entrepreneurial orientation (EO) is a key factor of company performance, few have focused on IEO. This study employed a quantitative research design because all variables were measurable. It used a questionnaire to survey 384 SMEs in the service sector and employed structural equation modeling (SEM) in data analysis. The findings suggested that SMEs' performance was influenced by risk-taking and proactiveness. This could be related to the fact that SMEs have a less formal structure, allowing owner-managers to take risks and make quick decisions. Furthermore, high performance was ensured by being very sensitive to market trends and changes in the business environment. Innovativeness was not a significant factor in influencing the performance of SMEs. Perhaps it was rather difficult for SME owner-managers to be innovative due to the lack of various resources. This study successfully re-confirmed the effect of IEO on business performance and highlighted the importance of risk-taking and proactiveness in improving the performance of SMEs.
Purpose: This study systematically examined the concept of digital selling readiness of salespeople. Additionally, this study empirically confirms the sequential mediating roles of digital literacy and salesperson self-efficacy in the impact of digital selling readiness on customer-oriented behavior. Research design, data, and methodology: We collected data from salespeople at a Bank and Financial Service firm in South Korea. A total of 254 salespeople were invited to participate, with 154 surveys returned. After removing the questionnaires with missing values, 150 complete surveys were employed for the analysis. Results: The empirical analysis indicates that digital selling readiness positively affects digital literacy. Digital literacy, in turn, is positively associated with self-efficacy, leading to increased customer-oriented behaviors among salespersons. This study also confirms the sequential mediating effects of digital literacy and self-efficacy in the impact of salespeople's digital selling readiness on customer-oriented behavior. Conclusions: Our research deepens the understanding of how digital selling readiness fosters customer-oriented behavior through the sequential mediating effects of digital literacy and self-efficacy. This study extends the previous model by sequentially involving digital literacy and self-efficacy to better understand the psychological processes of digital selling. The results highlight the role of digital selling readiness in preparing salespeople for digital sales.
Recently, SME's Collaboration activities have become one of a vital factor for sustaining competitive edge. This is because of the rapidly changing and competitive market environment, and also to leverage performance by overcoming obstacles of having limited internal resources. Discussing about the effects and relationships of the firm's collaboration activities and its outputs are not new. However, as ICT and various technologies have been diffused into the traditional industries, boundaries and practice capabilities within the industries are becoming ambiguous. Thus contents of the products/services and their development methods are also go and come over the industries. Although many researchers suggested the relations of SME's collaboration activities and innovation performances, most of the previous literatures are focusing on broad perspectives of firm's environmental factors rather than considering various SME's idiosyncrasy factors such as their major product and customer types at once. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to analyze how SME(Small Medium Enterprise)'s external collaboration activities by their idiosyncrasy act as an input to types of innovation performance. In order to analyze collaboration effects in detail, we defined factors that can represent the SME's business environment - Perceived importance of using external resources, Perceived importance of external partnership, Collaboration and Collaboration levels of Major Product types, Customer types and lastly the Firm Sizes. We have also specifically divided the performance of innovation types as product innovation and process innovation based on existing research. In this study, the empirical analysis is based on Probit Regression Model to observe the correlations with the impact of each SME's business environment and their activities. For the empirical data, 497 samples were collected which, this sample data was extracted from the 'Korean Open Innovation Survey' performed by ETRI(Korean Electronics Telecommunications Research Institute) in 2010. As a result, empirical test results indicated that the impact of collaboration varies depend on the innovation types (Product and Process Innovation). The Impact of the collaboration level for the product innovation tend to be more effective when SMEs are developing for a final product, targeting on for individual customers (B2C). But on the other hand, the analysis result of the Process innovation tend to be higher than the product innovation, when SMEs are developing raw materials for their partners or to other firms targeting on for manufacturing industries(B2B). Also perceived importance of using external resources has effected to both product and process innovation performance. But Perceived importance of external partnership was statistically insignificant. Interesting finding was that the service product has negative effects on for the process innovation performance. And Relationship between size of the firms and their external collaboration activities with their performance of the innovations indicated that the bigger firms(over 100 of employees) tend to have better for both product and process innovations. Finally, implications of the results can be suggested as performance of innovation can be varied depends on firm's unique business idiosyncrasy as well as levels of external collaboration activities. The Implication of this research can be considered for firms in selecting an appropriate strategy as well as for policy makers.
The purpose of research is to reveal the effect of innovation to enterprises' economic performance. The kind of this study has begun since 1960s and lively progressed then. The fmal theoretical result of the effect of innovation to the performance came positive in compare to the mixed results came out in empirical analysis. There are several reason why empirical results are different to the theoretical results. However the major factor is that of using imperfect statistics and inappropriateness of analysis method. This study used a population (1990~2008) provided from Korean Intellectual Property Office, KIPO for patent and also used a population (1990~2008) provided from Korea Investors Service, KIS for research and development. The contribution of this study is enormous statistical analysis. This study used principal component analysis made innovativeness index for appropriate index sampling, and made effort to minimize the error by using appropriate quantile regression for both to panel analysis and rapidly developed company analysis. Dividing the final results into two parts, the growth and the profit, the effect of technological innovation to the firm's growth is not significant to the panel analysis but heavily significant to the upper 10% of high growth firm. By classifying large company and small and medium enterprise, it is significant to upper 10% of high growth firm for large company and generally significant to small and medium enterprise. But for both lower 10% of low growth firms and 25% of low ranking firms are negatively effected, and for high growth firms larger than the medians are positively effected. Especially for upper 10% of high growth firms are mostly effected. It is more effective to the profitability than the growth. The effect to the profit for every enterprises are not significant, but effected significant to the larger enterprises than 25% of low ranking enterprises especially most effective to the upper 10% of high-profit enterprises. The analysis for the large company, it was significant and positively effected to the upper 10% of high profit enterprises and 25% of low ranking enterprises, but the negatively effected for the low-profit enterprises. For the small and medium enterprises, it is negatively effected for both 10% of low ranking enterprises and 25% of low ranking enterprises. However it is positively effective and significant for the high ranking enterprises than median, especially for those high growth firms. It is meaningful to recognize significancy by quantile, but more implicative result is to finding more effectiveness to the small and medium enterprises than to the large company.

There are increasing needs for understanding and fathoming of business management environment through big data analysis at industrial and corporative level. The research using the company disclosure information, which is comprehensively covering the business performance and the future plan of the company, is getting attention. However, there is limited research on developing applicable analytical models leveraging such corporate disclosure data due to its unstructured nature. This study proposes a text-mining-based analytical model for industrial and firm level analyses using publicly available company disclousre data. Specifically, we apply LDA topic model and word2vec word embedding model on the U.S. SEC data from the publicly listed firms and analyze the trends of business topics at the industrial and corporate levels. Using LDA topic modeling based on SEC EDGAR 10-K document, whole industrial management topics are figured out. For comparison of different pattern of industries' topic trend, software and hardware industries are compared in recent 20 years. Also, the changes of management subject at firm level are observed with comparison of two companies in software industry. The changes of topic trends provides lens for identifying decreasing and growing management subjects at industrial and firm level. Mapping companies and products(or services) based on dimension reduction after using word2vec word embedding model and principal component analysis of 10-K document at firm level in software industry, companies and products(services) that have similar management subjects are identified and also their changes in decades. For suggesting methodology to develop analysis model based on public management data at industrial and corporate level, there may be contributions in terms of making ground of practical methodology to identifying changes of managements subjects. However, there are required further researches to provide microscopic analytical model with regard to relation of technology management strategy between management performance in case of related to various pattern of management topics as of frequent changes of management subject or their momentum. Also more studies are needed for developing competitive context analysis model with product(service)-portfolios between firms.
