A Usability Assessment Metric for Ubiquitous Services: Quantification of the Interactivity Attribute in Inter-personal Services

  • Objective: The main objective of this study is to propose a user-centered assessment metric for ubiquitous services. Background: As the ubiquitous era took off, the interactions between ubiquitous services and users have come to take an important position. It is essential to conceptualize a new assessment model that considers human-system interaction capability with a user-centered design perspective. Method: The evaluation model for the interactivity of ubiquitous service was approached from the concept of usability and inter-personality of services. As a validation study, suggested assessment metric was utilized to evaluate the u-Home service. Priority weighting of each assessment metric was derived using the quantification type-I analysis. Results: To evaluate interactivity, this study suggested a quantitative metric for user testing performed after classifying the interactivity characteristics to contextualization; ubiquity; user experience; and service capability. Conclusion: This study suggest the metric for the ubiquitous service that are experienced in real life, and introduced the concept of ubiquitous service interactivity. Application: The suggested evaluation metric can be used to evaluate interactivity level of ubiquitous service and identify the potential problem and usability requirements at the early stage of service development.

  • The study evaluates user experiences of I-um and Noondate, typical Social Dating Mobile Application Service in Korea, to suggest guidelines that are more user-centered and useful. I did some literature research followed with evaluation of theoretical backgrounds, present conditions. Also, I recasted to the six principles of "Honey comb model" by Peter Morville to conduct an in-depth interview. The result indicate that I-um needs to improve accuracy of matching system by checking user's interest and detailed profile. Noondate needs to develop the cards sorting systems so that user can supervise themselves. I expect this study will become a good resource for upgrading user experiences of Social Dating Service. I also believe that this study can guide other studies about user experience in other fields.

A Research on the Cabin Service Quality Factors in a National Carrier affecting Overseas Tourist's Experience and Satisfactiont (여객의 해외여행 관광지 관광체험과 관광만족에 영향을 미치는 국적항공사 객실서비스 품질 요인 연구)

  • This study analyzed empirically the effects of the perception of outbound passengers, who flew from Korea to overseas tourist destinations, on the cabin service quality, tourist experience, and tourist satisfaction. For empirical analysis, a survey was given to Korean passengers using a national carrier of South Korea. Based on empirical analysis, the researchers judged that the analysis results and implications could be applied to inbound foreign passengers who visited Korea for the tourism purposes if researchers generated significant results from empirical analysis. This paper designed a research model that represented the meaningful relationship among, airline cabin-service quality, tourist experience, and tourist satisfaction following preceding research. According to the analysis, that factors that consisted of the cabin service quality had a significant effect on the tourist satisfaction with a mediating effect of both the cognitive and emotional tourist experience. Therefore, the perception on airline's cabin service quality of the national carrier would be a starting point that can help improve the tourist satisfaction.

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest the Assessment model for tourist information center in Seoul. As a research method, we analyzed international guideline and interview with tourism experts in order to rate the tourist centers in Seoul. Secondly, we renamed the international rating model to Itaewon information center as a typical landmark in Seoul. The assessment factors for T.I.C is assembled through researching of the centers' status in terms of overall service satisfaction. Via in - depth interview with 9 visitors, as a result, we were able to derive the possibility that new-designed rating model is able to be applied to the Tourist centers in Seoul. It is significant that this study suggests ways to improve domestic tourist center service. It is expected that the follow - up study will help improve the factors to Seoul T.I.C, not only Itaewon, with much more specific rating method.

Measurement of the Internet Banking Customer Satisfaction using Structured Equation Model

  • This study has conducted to measure the internet banking customer satisfaction using structured equation model. Data was collected by e-mail system. Among survey panel who had experience of using Hanwha-Bank internet banking service, final samples were 2,848 respondents. The results showed that usage convenience and economy factor was most correlated with customer satisfaction. And we found that word-of-mouth behavior was affected customer satisfaction.

  • The interest in SLA in accordance with the development of IT outsourcing has increased due to the rapid development of information systems. Moreover, an awareness and necessity for the Information System Operating Audit has increased while an effective IT service management operations for information systems is needed desperately. However, information system operations and maintenance instructions of the National Information Society Agency operates due to the current information system operation, but the experience and the interpretation of the auditor determine the decision in the field. This paper introduces an operating audit model for the efficient management. This model is derived from the Korea Information Society Agency's operating instructions of the Information Systems Audit and their inspection services. The audit checklists were derived from the areas of service planning, service delivery, service support, and service management. Consequently, the operating audit model was proposed, and the suitability of this model was verified by experts' opinions on the survey.

Estimation of maximum object size satisfying mean response time constraint in web service environment (웹 서비스 환경에서 평균 응답 시간의 제약조건을 만족하는 최대 객체 크기의 추정)

  • One of the economical ways to satisfy the quality of service desired by the user in a web service environment is to adjust the size of the object. To this end, this study finds the maximum size of objects that satisfy this constraint when the mean response time is given below an arbitrary threshold for quality of service. It can be inferred that in the steady state of system, the mean response time in the deterministic model by using the round-robin will be the same as that of the queueing model following the general distribution. Based on this, analytical formulas and procedures for finding the maximum object size are obtained. As a service distribution of web traffic, the Pareto distribution is appropriate, so the maximum object size is computed by applying the M/G(Pareto)/1 model and the M/G/1/PS model using exponential distribution as computational experience. Performance evaluation through numerical calculation shows that as the shape parameter in the Pareto distribution increases, the M/G(Pareto)/1 model and M/G/1/PS model have the same maximum object size. The results of this study can be used to environments where objects can be sized for economical web service control.

  • This study proposes a service model that can effectively provide users with knowledge and wisdom contents from the experience of overcoming the crisis to sustain human growth. In order to serve as a wisdom content, the necessity of the service nature is suggested and the present knowledge contents services are analyzed from the viewpoint of service nature. As a result, it is analyzed that current knowledge contents service is unidirectional, inconsistent and can not provide various related information together. In this study, we propose a wisdom contents service model that is consistent with the current service era. We propose a new wisdom contents service model that reflects the essence of service as a way to become more useful wisdom contents service. The proposed wisdom contents service model is able to provide a story and various related information out of the existing fragmentary knowledge services. This makes it easy for users to acquire and use wisdom. This study is a basic study for the development of wisdom contents service, and further research is needed on detailed discussion of wisdom contents service, analysis of service system, and suggestion of customized service through user demand survey.

The Effect of Service Experience on Behavioral Loyalty in Luxury Restaurant Service Setting : The Causal Role of Cognitive Satisfaction and Emotional Attachment (고급레스토랑의 서비스경험이 행동충성도에 미치는 영향 : 인지만족과 정서애착의 인과적 역할)

  • Due to long-term social distancing due to the spread of COVID-19, business trends of restaurant companies are being implemented in accordance with the changed environment such as packaging and subscription. However, even in this environment, upscale restaurants are generating high profits by trying to differentiate themselves from existing restaurants by providing high-quality services with the best facilities. Therefore, this study describes how customers' experience of upscale restaurant service influences behavioral loyalty. That is, the purpose of this study is to determine the effect of service experience on cognitive satisfaction and emotional attachment, and to examine the causal role of cognitive satisfaction and emotional attachment by confirming the relationship between these constructs and relationship commitment and behavioral loyalty. To verify this, data were collected through face-to-face interviews with 300 consumers who recently used a upscale restaurant. Of the collected data, 275 copies(91.6%) were used for the final analysis, and inaccurate or erroneous data among 25 response sheets were excluded. In this study, the validity and reliability of the data were checked and the research hypothesis was verified by using SPSS 21.0 and AMOS 20 statistical package. Frequency analysis was performed to confirm the demographic characteristics of the respondent. Structural equation model analysis(SEM) was used to confirm the fit of the research model and to verify the research hypothesis. As a result of the research hypothesis analysis, it was found that service experience had a positive effect on cognitive satisfaction, and cognitive satisfaction had a positive effect on emotional attachment, relationship commitment, and behavioral loyalty. Also, it was found that emotional attachment had a positive effect on relationship commitment and behavioral loyalty, and relationship commitment had a positive effect on behavioral loyalty. However, service experience did not affect emotional attachment. With this study, marketers and managers of upscale restaurants such as hotel restaurants need to accurately select their target audience, understand their service needs, and then present the appropriate service to them. In addition, they should not only induce cognitive satisfaction by providing excellent service to their customers, but also identify moments of truth and present appropriate services so that satisfied customers can strengthen their emotional attachment. In addition, it is necessary to strengthen the relationship with their firms by forming friendly relationships with customers who have high emotional attachment, and also to induce relationship commitment so that such customers have a strong sense of belonging and attachment to their firms.

Determinants of Purchase Intention for IPTV-VOD Contents (IPTV에서의 유료 VOD 구매 의도에 영향을 미치는 요인)

  • This paper investigated main determinants of purchase intention for VOD contents by employing an extended technology acceptance model. The findings showed that 'user activeness' is the critical external variable influencing five perceived belief variables, namely perceived usefulness, perceived playfulness, perceived quality, perceived complexity and perceived cost. Regarding consumer satisfaction for free VOD service, it had no direct effect but indirect effect on the purchase behavior, meaning that the satisfaction causes purchase intention for VOD contents via the cognitive attitude. Also, the moderating e!ect of use experience on the relationship between the belief variables and the purchase intention was confirmed. Users with much experience showed a higher perception for usefulness and quality, whereas users with less experience placed a higher value on the hedonic factors and costs. In contrast to previous studies on IPTV that mainly focused on determinant of IPTV subscription, this paper analyzed VOD that is a killer application of IPTV in identification of key factors for the acceptance. The findings provide IPTV operators some strategies to create customer value and improve profitability.
