A Study on User Experience of OTT Service -Focused on Netflix, Watcha and Wavve- (국내외 OTT서비스의 사용자 경험 연구 -넷플릭스와 왓챠, 웨이브를 중심으로-)

  • The purpose of this study is to measure the user experience of Netflix which is a representative global OTT service, Watcha and Wavve which is a representative service of Korea. Using mobile applications, qualitative research and quantitative research on user experience of OTT service were conducted with task test, in-depth interviews and surveys. As a result of the study, The usefulness and accessible of the OTT service has not shown much difference between OTT services. Rather, contents based on personal preferences has a significant impact on OTT service selection. The study found that Netflix needs to secure contents, Watcha needs to improve interface and recast categories, Wavve needs to present contents that are focused on and improve interface of main screen. The study expects to help a build a differentiate user experience in the face of growing OTT platform competition.

  • Recently, the demand for various contents and mobile web service has been rising due to the improvement of the techniques of wireless networks. In mobile web service, it is essential to exchange the device informations and contents using specific information which are standardized for users, operators and contents providers. This is based on the existing service providers based on the existing terminal, which provides information to help plan and operate independently of the mobile Web services and content services for various users needs. In this paper, the interoperable DDL is proposed for providing contents to fit with each different mobile device, which contributes toward the optimized mobile web service and guarantee the interoperability of device information. and we implemented the device information processing system, which has the purpose of servicing the device information and verifying the result to the interoperability of mobile web service on proposed DDL and the description language of the device information.

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest plans to enhance client satisfaction through improving the quality of hospital administration services. For accomplishing the purpose, we conducted empirical research with classifying hospital administration services into administrative staff service, medical staff service, facility service, and institutional service. Based on the results of this study, suggestions were made as follows for improving the quality of hospital administration services. First, in administrative staff service, detailed explanations should be provided about the items of medical bills, and patients' waiting time should be reduced through fast processing and smooth cooperation among departments. Second, in medical staff service, the process of medical service should be simplified for the accurate observance of appointment schedules, and the time to start outpatient service and the time to complete the discharge process should be earlier than now. Third, in facility service, convenient facilities and resting places should be prepared, parking facilities should be expanded, and menus should be improved for clients. Fourth, in institutional service, detailed medical service costs contents should be disclosed and plans should be made for the efficiency of services.

  • In this paper, a service mobility scheme using user's location & service information table management and user recognition skill is proposed to support the movement of the multimedia service user and provide the seamless multimedia service environment in home network. We analyzed the proposed scheme using queueing system and we built test bed for experiment onthe proposed scheme to verify the operation and performance. As a result, we can show the proposed scheme provides a seamless multimedia service through the new client terminal when a user move to the new location and shows the performance completing the service mobility through the new client terminal within the service delay time which is shorter than the service delay time generated in the previous scheme.

A User-centered Classification Framework for Digital Service Innovation : Case for Elderly Care Service

  • Digital technology has been changing everyday life of ordinary people let alone the structure of world industry. The elderly care service is also going through changes influenced by the unavoidable impact from torrents of digital technologies. There are numerous reports and news about the digital technologies increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of care service yet lacking systematic understanding of the sources of such improvement. This study aims to present a new classification framework for digital elderly care service innovation to fully utilize the power of digital technologies drawing on insights from innovation studies and service studies. First, 4 features of digital technologies are identified as sources of new value in service innovation. The co-creation of value by users and producers in service and technology development is discussed to illuminate users' contributions to service innovation. Communication of needs and ideas with producers and application of new technologies into everyday practice of life are identified as the source of new value which can be attributed to the elderly. Customization along with efficiency gains is the key to digital elderly care service innovation. The classification framework, thus, incorporates the needs of the elderly as one axis of criteria in the conventional technology-centered framework. The new classification framework would help give due weight to user-driven or demand-driven innovation in the elderly care service R&D activities.

  • This paper describes main characteristics of Grid Services based on OGSA and a service component for aggregating service data element. In order to build a Grid Service for SOA, it needs to consider a systematic approach from the high-level software architecture of a system that describes the main system components and their interactions. The purpose of this paper is to design and implement an extended service data aggregator service. To provide reliable aggregating service for service data elements, which is running under wide area environment like Internet, the aggregator service is operated asynchronously by notification mechanism.

  • The most important virtue that S&T information should possess is the promptness. In the era of global competition, it is very important to catch the technical trends and R&D policy of advanced countries in time. In this paper, we surveyed S&T trends information service in advanced and competing countries including USA, Japan, European countries, and china. Based on the survey result, we show that the "Overseas S&T Trends Information Service" provided by KISTI is dominant to those of other countries
