  • In this paper, we apply the concept of the group \ulcorner(X,A) of self pair homotopy equivalences of a CW-pair (X, A) to the Postnikov system. By using a short exact sequence related to the group of self pair homotopy equivalences, we obtain the following result: for any Postnikov section X$\sub$n/ of a CW-complex X, the group \ulcorner(X$\sub$n/, A) of self pair homotopy equivalences on the pair (X$\sub$n/, X) is isomorphic to the group \ulcorner(X) of self homotopy equivalences on X. As a corollary, we have, \ulcorner(K($\pi$, n), M($\pi$, n)) ≡ \ulcorner(M($\pi$, n)) for each n$\pi$1, where K($\pi$,n) is an Eilenberg-Mclane space and M($\pi$,n) is a Moore space.

  • In cellular communication systems employing millimeter wave (mmWave) bands for a link, a large amount of training time and network resources will be required to find a serving BS with the best transmit and receive (Tx-Rx) beam pair if downlink control signals are used. In this paper, a tracking technique for OFDM-based cellular communication systems with a mmWave link, where an analog beamforer is used at the mobile station (MS) and a digital beamformer is used at the BS, is proposed using an uplink signal. A technique to select a serving BS with the best beam pair is described using the uplink preamble sequence based on Zadoff-Chu sequence and a metrics which can be used to identify parameters such as beam ID (BID), MS ID (MID), and direction-of-arrival (DoA). The effectiveness of the proposed technique is verified via simulation with the spatial channel model (SCM) for a moving MS in mmWave cellular systems.

  • We propose a new fragment assembly program MLP (mate-based layout with PHRAP). MLP consists of PHRAP, repeat masking, and a new layout algorithm that uses the mate pair information. Our experimental results show that by using MLP instead of PHRAP, we can significantly reduce the difference between the assembled sequence and the original genome sequence.

  • The floorplanning problem is an essential design step in VLSI layout design and it is how to place rectangular modules as density as possible. And then, as the DSM advances, the VLSI chip becomes more congested even though more metal layers are used for routing. Usually, a VLSI chip includes several buses. As design increases in complexity, bus routing becomes a heavy task. To ease bus routing and avoid unnecessary iterations in physical design, we need to consider bus planning in early floorplanning stage. In this paper, we propose a floorplanning method for topological constraint consisting of bus constraint and memory constraint. The proposed algorithms based on Genetic Algorithm(GA) is adopted a sequence pair. For selection control, new objective functions are introduced for topological constraint. Studies on floor planning and cell placement have been reported as being applications of GA to the LSI layout problem. However, no studies have ever seen the effect of applying GA in consideration of topological constraint. Experimental results show improvement of bus and memory constraint.

  • In layout of LSI and PWB, block pack- ing problem is very important in order to reduce chip area. Sequence-pair is typical one of conventional pack- ing method and can search nearly-optimal solution by using Simulated Annealing(SA). SA takes huge computation time due to evaluating of various packing results. Therefore, Sequence-pair is not effective enough for fast layout evaluation including estimation of wire length and rotation of every blocks. This paper proposes an efficient block packing method to minimize wire length and chip area. Our method searches an optimal packing efficient- ly by using a cluster growth algorithm with changing the most valuable packing score on packing process.

  • 6M-MuLV mutants containing deldtions around the putative packaging signal were constructed by using recombinant DNA technique and transfected into NIH/3T3 cell. 2 of 6 mutants can not be packaged into virions even in the presence of the wild type helper virus. The boundary between the packagible and the non-packagible genome is located around Pvu I site, 421 nucleotide downstream from the 5' end of M-MuLV genome. 10 base pair inverted repeat sequence (GAGUCCAAAA) which can make stem structure around Pvu Isite could be the putative packaging signal.

  • In this paper, we Propose the Job-Pair Comparison (JPC) rule to minimize total tardiness in a single machine. For this purpose we derive conditional expression to choose the desirable job sequence. We also prove the transitivity of JPC rule, to prevent cycle and to decrease the complexity of comparison.

  • In this paper, a composite iterative process is introduced for a generalized equilibrium problem and a pair of nonexpansive mappings. It is proved that the sequence generated in the purposed composite iterative process converges strongly to a common element of the solution set of a generalized equilibrium problem and of the common xed point of a pair of nonexpansive mappings.

  • The sequences of two fragments of 18s ribosomal DNA were determined to elucidate relationship between Pungitius sinensis and P. kaibarae. The proportion of G+C pair is 54.85% to 55.15% in P. kaibarae populations and 52.76% in P. sinensis. Number of substitutions ranges from 10~18 among the populations of P. kaibarae and up to 165 between P. sinensis and P. kaibarae. The value of sequence divergence were 0.0118~0.0195 among the populations of P. kaibarae and 0.2136~0.2306 between P. sinensis and P. kaibarae. The result of pairwise comparison of the sequences indicate that phylogenetic relationship between P. sinensis and P. kaibarae was differentiated to specific level.

  • Stolbur Phytoplasma was detected from Lilium Oriental hybrids showing flattened stem and flower clustering. The presence of phytoplasma was demonstrated using polymerase chain reaction(PCR) assays with phyto-plasma-universal(P1/P6)and stolbur phytoplasma-specific 16F1/R1-S primer pairs amplifying phytoplasma 16S rDNA regions. Nucleotide suquences of the phytoplasma 16S rDNA were determined. Nucleic acid extracted from lily amplified 1.5 kb DNA with a phytoplasma universal primer pair. In nested PCR, 1.1 kb PCR product was obtained using specific primer pair, indicating an isolate of stolbur phytoplasma. Nucleotide sequence of phytoplasma 16S rDNA reported in this study showed 99.5% and 99.1% identities with two known stolbur phytoplamas (16Sr XII-A). Also, it exhibited a sequence homology of 98.0% with phormium yellow leaf (16Sr XII-B), and 97.9% with Australian grapevine yellows (16Sr XII-B). Meanwhile, it showed 98.1% identity with strawberry green petal phytoplama, (16Sr1-C), and 94.7 % with American aster yellows (16Sr1-B). Homology percentage of the 16S rDNA nucleotide sequence suggests that this phytoplama could be classified into the stolbur phytoplasma, subgroup A (16Sr XII-A), as a type strain stolbur.
