A process mining is considered to support the discovery of business process for unstructured process model, and a process mining algorithm by using the associated rule and sequence pattern of data mining is developed to extract information about processes from event-log, and to discover process of alternative, concurrent and hidden activities. Some numerical examples are presented to show the effectiveness and efficiency of the algorithm.
Due to the excessive zero-sequence voltage in dual three-level inverter fed open-end winding induction motor systems, zero-sequence circumfluence which is harmful to switching devices and insulation is then formed when operating in a single DC voltage source supplying mode. Traditionally, it is the mean value instead of instantaneous value of the zero-sequence voltage that is eliminated, through adjusting the durations of the operating vectors. A new strategy is proposed for zero-sequence voltage elimination, which utilizes unified voltage modulation and a decoupled SVPWM strategy to achieve two same-sized equivalent vectors for an angle of $120^{\circ}$, generated by two inverters independently. Both simulation and experimental results have verified its efficiency in the instantaneous value elimination of zero-sequence voltage.
Mining interesting patterns from DNA sequences is one of the most challenging tasks in bioinformatics and computational biology. Maximal contiguous frequent patterns are preferable for expressing the function and structure of DNA sequences and hence can capture the common data characteristics among related sequences. Biologists are interested in finding frequent orderly arrangements of motifs that are responsible for similar expression of a group of genes. In order to reduce mining time and complexity, however, most existing sequence mining algorithms either focus on finding short DNA sequences or require explicit specification of sequence lengths in advance. The challenge is to find longer sequences without specifying sequence lengths in advance. In this paper, we propose an efficient approach to mining maximal contiguous frequent patterns from large DNA sequence datasets. The experimental results show that our proposed approach is memory-efficient and mines maximal contiguous frequent patterns within a reasonable time.
Recently many LBS(Location Based Service) systems are issued in mobile computing systems. Spatial-Temporal Moving Sequence Pattern Mining is a new mining method that mines user moving patterns from user moving path histories in a sensor network environment. The frequent pattern mining is related to the items which customers buy. But on the other hand, our mining method concerns users' moving sequence paths. In this paper, we consider the sequence of moving paths so we handle the repetition of moving paths. Also, we consider the duration that user spends on the location. We proposed new Apriori_msp based on the Apriori algorithm and evaluated its performance results.
Sequential Pattern Mining is the mining approach which addresses the problem of discovering the existent maximal frequent sequences in a given databases. In the daily and scientific life, sequential data are available and used everywhere based on their representative forms as text, weather data, satellite data streams, business transactions, telecommunications records, experimental runs, DNA sequences, histories of medical records, etc. Discovering sequential patterns can assist user or scientist on predicting coming activities, interpreting recurring phenomena or extracting similarities. For the sake of that purpose, the core of sequential pattern mining is finding the frequent sequence which is contained frequently in all data sequences. Beside the discovery of frequent itemsets, sequential pattern mining requires the arrangement of those itemsets in sequences and the discovery of which of those are frequent. So before mining sequences, the main task is checking if one sequence is a subsequence of another sequence in the database. In this paper, we implement the subsequence matching method as the preprocessing step for sequential pattern mining. Matched sequences in our implementation are the normalized sequences as the form of number chain. The result which is given by this method is the review of matching information between input mapped sequences.

High utility sequential pattern (HUSP) mining has been considered as an important research topic in data mining. Although some algorithms have been proposed for this topic, they incur the problem of producing a large search space for HUSPs. The tighter utility upper bound of a sequence can prune more unpromising patterns early in the search space. In this paper, we propose a sequence expected utility (SEU) as a new utility upper bound of each sequence, which is the maximum expected utility of a sequence and all its descendant sequences. A sequence utility list for each pattern is used as a new data structure to maintain essential information for mining HUSPs. We devise an algorithm, high sequence utility list-span (HSUL-Span), to identify HUSPs by employing SEU. Experimental results on both synthetic and real datasets from different domains show that HSUL-Span generates considerably less candidate patterns and outperforms other algorithms in terms of execution time.

Web access sequence mining can discover the frequently accessed web pages pursued by users. Utility-based web access sequence mining handles non-binary occurrences of web pages and extracts more useful knowledge from web logs. However, the existing utility-based web access sequence mining approach considers web access sequences from the very beginning of web logs and therefore it is not suitable for mining data streams where the volume of data is huge and unbounded. At the same time, it cannot find the recent change of knowledge in data streams adaptively. The existing approach has many other limitations such as considering only forward references of web access sequences, suffers in the level-wise candidate generation-and-test methodology, needs several database scans, etc. In this paper, we propose a new approach for high utility web access sequence mining over data streams with a sliding window method. Our approach can not only handle large-scale data but also efficiently discover the recently generated information from data streams. Moreover, it can solve the other limitations of the existing algorithm over data streams. Extensive performance analyses show that our approach is very efficient and outperforms the existing algorithm.
Mining sequential patterns is an important research issue in data mining and knowledge discovery with broad applications. However, the existing sequential pattern mining approaches consider only binary frequency values of items in sequences and equal importance/significance values of distinct items. Therefore, they are not applicable to actually represent many real-world scenarios. In this paper, we propose a novel framework for mining high-utility sequential patterns for more real-life applicable information extraction from sequence databases with non-binary frequency values of items in sequences and different importance/significance values for distinct items. Moreover, for mining high-utility sequential patterns, we propose two new algorithms: UtilityLevel is a high-utility sequential pattern mining with a level-wise candidate generation approach, and UtilitySpan is a high-utility sequential pattern mining with a pattern growth approach. Extensive performance analyses show that our algorithms are very efficient and scalable for mining high-utility sequential patterns.
Recent sequential pattern mining algorithms mine all of the frequent sequences satisfying a minimum support threshold in a large database. However, when a frequent sequence becomes very long, such mining will generate an explosive number of frequent sequence, which is prohibitively expensive in time. In this paper, we proposed a novel sequential pattern algorithm using only closed frequent sequences which are small subset of very large frequent sequences. Our algorithm extends the sequence by depth-first search strategy with effective pruning. Using bitmap representation of underlying databases, we can obtain a closed frequent sequence considerably faster than the currently reported methods.
