In this paper, fabricated is a motion capture and attitude detection system for Head Mounted Display HMD composed of three low-price and low-grade micro gyroscopes and a micro-controller, To calculate attitude of a body, modified INS algorithm is used. Because the micro gyroscope has much bias drift error, scale factor error, and run-to-run bias error, the motion of a body can not be measured exactly if the general INS algorithm and micro gyroscopes are used. To reduce the errors, three accelerometers can be used. In this case, however, the size and power consumption become too large to use in HMD system. The modified INS algorithm use the grid map and the characteristics of the human motions.

2'-(9"-Anthracenecarbonyloxy)ethyl pyropheophorbide a, methyl 3a-(9'-anthracenecarbonyloxy)pyropheophorbide a, 2'-(4"-phenylbenzoyloxy)ethyl pyropheophorbide a, and methyl 3a-(4'-phenylbenzoyloxy)pyropheophorbide a were prepared from chlorophyll a and b. Nuclear magnetic resonance study showed that the sandwich conformation is more favorable in 2'-(9"-anthracenecarbonyloxy)ethyl pyropheophorbide a than it is in other compounds.

P. ginseng C.A. Meyer is one of the most widely used herbal medicine in Asia. It has been used for the treatment of many disorders. Its major constituent is known to be ginsenosides, and there are many documents about bioactivities of ginsenosides such as anti-oxidant, anti-tumorigenic, anti-fatigue, and anti-inflammatory activities. Some of these activities are supposed to have some correlation with inhibitory action of cyclooxygenase (COX). Ginsenosides from P. ginseng and sapogenins were evaluated for their inhibitory effects against both cyclooxygenase-1 and -2 (COX-1 and -2). Inhibitory activity was evaluated by measuring prostaglandin E$_2$ (PGE$_2$) production from arachidonic acid with an ELISA reader. (omitted)

Analysis of benthic macroinvertebrate community and biological estimation of water quality by the benthic macroinvertebrates were conducted at Olympic Park at its nearby waters in Seoul from December, 2004 to September, 2005. The benthic macrovertebrates were 49 species. Among them, 39 species of aquatic insects were included 11 species in odonata, 9 species in diptera, 7 species in hemiptera, 6 species in coleoptera, 3 species in ephemeroptera, 2 species in trichoptera and 1 species in lepipdoptera, and 10 species of non-insects were 6 species in mollusca, 2 species in hirudinea and 2 species in oligochaeta. Species number of lakes, Seongnae Stream within and outside the Olympic Park was 25 species, 35 species and 33 species, respectively. Individual number of lakes, Seongnae Stream within and outside the Olympic Park was $131\;inds/2.5m^2\;239\;inds/2.5m^2\;556\;inds/2.5m^2$, respectively. Mean dominance indices of lakes, Seongnae Stream within and outside the Olympic Park was 0.74, 0.61 and 0.72, respectively. According to the saprobic system based on the ESB index(Ecological score of benthic macroinvertebrate community), all survey sites are $\beta-mesosaprobic$ waters. To increase of abundance of benthic macroinvertebrates, regular interval monitoring has to be enforced and standard of water quality for the ecological ponds of Olympic Park has to be prepared.

The quality of urban environment where large population reside is becoming more vitally important than ever. Recently the city of Seoul has launched a 'green city' program converting number of city owned lots into urban parks. In this study, we first investigate four recently opened city parks with water ponds in Seoul. This study then classify these parks according to their respective designs, particularly addressing design and environmental impacts by water features. From these exercises, we derive the following interim findings: 1. Design patterns of waterscape is changing. 2. Water in the city park is a major design feature. 3. Design methodology for city parks must be studied further.

On 28 April 2008, a male Himalayan Swiftlet (Aerodramus brevirostris) was captured and examined at a night roost of swallows on Hongdo Island, Jeollanam-do, Korea. This is the first record of this species from Korea confirmed by specimen examination. We describe morphological features and some phylogenetic notes of the Himalayan Swiftlet found.

The purpose of this study is to investigate how the 6 entry plans of Seoul Park in Paris were representing the tradition by comparing and reviewing them. Entry plans proposed for Seoul Park revealed different approaches of representing traditional gardens. Through scrutinizing these plans, some similar and different aspects among them could be found out. In order to find out those aspects, the entry plans were analysed and compared into several categories such as design concepts, programs and spatial components. The main concern for analysing the entry plans focused on the issue of are presentation. Representing a Korean garden into Seoul Park depends on the manner of a representation, their objets and media. Objects are related to the contents. The contents can have various themes, events, places beyond the garedn. Meids is related to represent Korean tradition with what implement. The manner of a representation can be divided into three types; a direct representation, an abstract(metaphoric) representation and a destructive representation. We found the characteristics through analysing the entry plans that 1) Korean terrain, Korean thoughts, narrative promenade, past/present/Korea/Seoul, story telling through the Korea traditional fence were used as design concepts. 2) Traditional elements such as a traditional pavilion, fence, madang, hwagye, gate were generally chosen as essential elements for representing the Korean tradition. 3) Direct representations were ore broadly used than abstract and destructive representation as the manner of a representation. and 4) The entry plans show us a variety of possibilities of representing traditional gardens. Abstract and destructive representations of tradition can be found out in th several plans compared with other existing ocean gardens made in foreign countries. In establishing urban parks and ordinary landscapes, those strategies can be alternatives to represent the identity of Korea by reconciling tradition with invention.
