Development of a model to forecast the external migration rate in development projects reflecting city characteristics

  • In planning public service systems such as waterworks, the design population is very important factor. Owing to the limitations of the indirect method, two new models, which take into consideration urban characteristics, were developed to accurately predict external migration rate (EMR), which is an essential component in estimating reliably the design population. The root mean square error (RMSE) between the model values and observed values were 10.12 and 15.58 for the metropolitan cities and counties respectively and were lower compared to RMSE values of 27.31 and 28.79 obtained by the indirect method. Thus, the developed models provide a more accurate estimate of EMR than the indirect method. In addition, the major influencing factors for external migration in counties were development type, ageing index, number of businesses. On the other hand, the major influencing migration factors for cities were project scale, distance to city center, manufacturing size, population growth rate and residential environment. Future medium and long-term studies would be done to identify emerging trends to appropriately inform policy making.

서울시 역세권 청년주택 사업 적지평가 모형: 5차 운영기준 개정과 청년수요의 반영을 중심으로 (Suitability Modelling for Potential Sites for Seoul's 2030 Youth-Housing Projects: Focusing on the 5th Policy Modification and the Youth's Demand)

  • The Seoul's 2030 Youth-Housing is a policy to promote the development of private sector-built rental housing in a Station Influence Area (SIA). It is a representative policy to resolve a housing problem for the youth in Seoul. The Seoul Metropolitan Government has made continuous policy improvements to respond to earlier criticisms on the policy. In December 2018, the Seoul Metropolitan Government enlarged the possible spatial boundaries of the SIA that the private sector developer can carry out the housing development projects. This study attempts to assess the potential sites available in Seoul by considering the youth's demand. This study used the suitability modelling technique to evaluate the potential sites. In detail, we established three sub-models by reflecting rent, accessibility to living areas of the youth, and accessibility to living SOC for the youth's demand. According to the results, the Hanyang City Wall area, which was newly included by the recent policy revision, showed moderate scores to fit the housing projects, while some Gangbuk areas, which have high accessibility and relatively lower rents, showed the best scores appropriate for the projects. The age group of 20s preferred university districts, while the age group of 30s preferred to locate near Seoul's main office areas. We suggest that the Seoul metropolitan government develops better ways to guage and reflect the demand for differing youth groups and the demand by age groups.

  • 본 연구는 인천의 디자인 현황을 분석하여, 인천의 특성을 살린 인천산업디자인의 발전방안을 연구하고, 다음으로 인천광역시가 처음으로 시행하고자하는 ‘인천국제디자인공모전’ 행사에 본 연구를 적용하고자 하는 것이 최종목적이다. 인천은 약260만의 인구를 가진 광역시로서, 수도권의 관문으로 수출산업의 중심지인 국내 최대의 산업도시이자, 인천국제공항개항 및 송도 신도시 개발로 인한 21세기 국제교역도시의 중추기지로 성장하고 있다. 인천의 산업구조는 대부분 중소기업 중심으로 업체 자체의 디자인 개발 능력이 부족하고, 디자인 관련 인력양성기관도 타 광역시에 비해 4년제 대학 2개교, 전문대학 6개교의 열악한 형편이다. 특히, 서울과 인접하여 디자인 관련 학회 및 공모전은 거의 전무한 상태이다. 이러한 인천이 산업적 특성과 디자인의 필요성을 우선 ‘인천국제디자인공모전’의 필요성에 대한 연구를 통하여, 그동안 타 지역에 비해 낙후된 디자인 산업 및 인천경제 활성화에 이바지하도록 할 것이다. 그리고 본 연구를 통해 얻은 결과를 토대로 인천에 걸 맞는 수준 높은 ‘인천국제디자인공모전’을 시행하는데 기초 자료로 활용하고, 나아가 우수한 디자인 전문가 양성 및 인재 발굴로 지자체, 기업, 학교가 서로 협동하여 새로운 국제도시 인천의 이미지 향상에 기여하고자 한다.

Statistical Analysis of the Usage Type of Online Cremation Reservation Service in Funeral Information System : Focused on the Public Cremation Facilities of Incheon Metropolitan City

  • As of 2016, the cremation rates in the capital area are 91.2% in Incheon Metropolitan City, 87.5% in Seoul Special City, and 87.1% in Gyeonggi-do Province, of which Incheon has the highest rate, and cremation of general corpses through the online cremation reservation service of the funeral information system is continuously increasing every year. And as of 2017, the ratio of the cremation for those outside the jurisdiction (residents of other regions) among the users of public cremation establishment in Incheon, is about 32%. As the supply capacity is expected to reach the limit within several years due to the increase in demand for such a cremation facility, I would like to suggest a policy as follows. The expansion of cremation supply capacity by increasing the number of operations in the cremation furnace; The attractions of operating funds through contracts for joint use of the cremation facility with other local governments and investment funds for the expansion of cremation facilities; The plan for controlling the demand in cremation such as an increase in cremation charge for those outside the jurisdiction(residents of other regions), should be considered.

노후건축지구의 범죄예방환경디자인 요소 분석 - 대구광역시 안전마을만들기사업 중심으로 - (Analysis of Crime Prevention Environment Design Elements in Old Building Districts -Focused on the Daegu Metropolitan City Safety Village Project-)

  • Recently, there has been a large social issue about the environmental sector for safe zones from crime. Since 2010, starting with Seoul, most local governments have enacted ordinances related to crime prevention environmental design (hereinafter referred to as CPTED) and are showing active movement. In this study, as part of a method to understand how to use the design elements applied to CPTED, the safety village creation project of deteriorated construction districts in Daegu Metropolitan City was conducted, focusing on the 10 project destinations using CPTED, and the CPTED application elements were evaluated by CPTED. The analysis was conducted according to the basic principles, and the elements related to the architectural plan of the environmental design elements were reviewed. In order to extract the environmental design elements of the project site, the CPTED guideline appropriate for the sector was used based on the standard guidelines for environmental design for crime prevention in Daegu City and the contents of the crime prevention urban design ordinance.

CMAQ을 이용한 수도권 풍하지역의 고농도 오존 현상 모사 (A Simulation of High Ozone Episode in Downwind Area of Seoul Metropolitan Using CMAQ Model)

  • Recently, high ozone episode occurred frequently in Korea. Moreover ozone episode occurred not only in the city but also in background area where local anthropogenic sources are not important. It analyzed frequency exceeding 100ppb ozone at air quality monitoring stations in Seoul and rural area during 1995-2004. This paper reports on the use of the Community Multiscale Air Quality (CMAQ) modelling system to predict hourly ozone levels. Domain resolutions of 30km, 10km, 3.333km (innermost) have been employed for this study. Summer periods in June 2004 have been simulated and the predicted results have been compared to data for metropolitan and rural air quality monitoring stations. The model performance has been evaluated with measured data through a range of statistical measures. Although, the CMAQ model reproduces the ozone temporal spatial trends it was not able to simulate the peak magnitudes consistently.

  • Various urban transport policies have an effect on urban transit riderships. This study reports variations of metropolitan subway travel patterns affected by an enormous change in bus routes and transfer discount policy between subway and bus mode conducted by Seoul city in July 1st of 2004. In an effort to see the difference between the before and the after policies, two datasets are prepared. Firstly, on a daily bassis, an origin-destination trip table of May of 2004 is used. Secondly, on a daily bassis, an origin-destination trip table of August-September of 2004 is used as a counter measure. Even if seasonal variation was not considered. there were increasing riderships of about 0.25 million on a daily basis. Subway line 2 and 7 have an important role in changes. The effects or system changes, however. largely varied on location and subway line numbers.

지방정부서비스의 외부성과 광역도시내 인구이동 (Intra-Metropolitan Migration and Inter-Jurisdictional Fiscal Externalities in the United States)

  • 광역도시내 대도시와 신도시는 경제적인 유기체임에도 불구하고 임의적인 행정구역으로 분할되어 있다. 이 결과 대도시는 신도시 주민들을 위하여 막대한 재원을 투자하여 도시기반시설을 건설하여야 하나, 상주인구의 감소로 재원부족이라는 어려움에 빠지게 된다. 본 연구는 1990년 미국 센서스 1% 자료를 이용하여 53개 광역도시내 인구이동을 분석하여 대도시가 도시기반시설에 투자를 하면 할수록 신도시로 대도시 인구가 빠져나가는 "신도시 주민의 대도시 찰취가설"을 입증하였다. 결국 광역도시내에 상이한 지방정부가 존재하는 경우 지방정부서비스 공급은 티부이론이 제시하는 효율성을 달성하지 못하기 때문에 광역도시내 정부 서비스의 공급은 사무엘슨 방식의 통합적 제공이 필요하다. 제공이 필요하다.

  • The purpose of this study is to provide a basis for planning of school foodservice facilities to operate with hygiene and efficiency corresponding a decrease of the number of students. This study analyzes the composition of space for foodservice facilities categorizing by the functions which are preparation area, cooking area, cleaning area, storage, and worker's room on elementary, middle and high school in Seoul Metropolitan city since 2009 that the Seoul School Health Promotion Center published a manual for school foodservice facilities. The calculation can be a basis for school planners and the general schools to use available area in each school and can manage the school usage plan appropriately. The number of students in each school has been regarded as the space planning element, but the number of students would considered with using the specific area and time.

  • Many people transfer from the automobile to the subway because of increasing in oil price and improvement of mass transit system of Seoul Metropolitan City. But Seoul Metropolitan Subway have brought out passengers discomfort because it is more crowded over the appropriateness because of very high utilization though it is highly technically facilitated. This study deals with the development and simulation study of subway train simulator. We analyzed the simulation results considering crowdedness after we defined the concept of crowdedness.
