  • In order to implement good control of the permanent magnet synchronous motor(PMSM), the exact speed and rotor position information is needed.Recently, many studies have performed about sensorless speed control of the PMSM. This paper proposed sensorless speed controls of PMSM by using the Unscented Kalman Filter(UKF).The UKF is designed to eliminate the noise and get to the accuracy value and deals with the estimation of the speed and the rotor position of PMSM. Simulation and experiment have been performed for the verification of the proposed algorithm.

  • In this paper, a sensorless control of PMSG(Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generator) for small wind turbine systems, which is based on stator flux and back-emf estimation. Also, a cost-effective AE/DC/AC converter that consists of a two-leg three-phase PWM converter and a half-bridge PWM converter is used for vector control of PMSG, which is impossible with the conventional diode-rectifier type converter. A sensorless control algorithm can eliminate pulse encoders for speed measurement, which reduces the system cost. Using PSIM simulation, the validity of the converter control performance and MPPT control of PMSG have been verified.

  • For high performance ac drives, the speed sensorless vector control and the stator flux orientation concept have received increasing attention. This paper describes a speed and flux sensorless vector-controlled induction machine(IM) drive based on the stator flux-oriented control. To improve the accuracy and operating range, the control system employs the previously presented speed and flux estimation methods, and then we present a developed method of estimating the speed of IM. In the proposed method all differential and integral terms have been eliminated by giving a very fast, low-cost, effective and practical alternative to the methods currently available. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by simulations and experimental results.

  • This paper proposes the improved transition scheme for a sensorless drive of an interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM). In order to operate the IPMSM, the current controller can be used until 300 rpm for the initial operation. After that, the control method of IPMSM is changed to the speed controller for the sensorless control method. At that point, the rotor speed overshoot is generated due to the rapid change of the current reference for the speed controller. The proposed algorithm is able to reduce the overshoot of a rotor speed by compensating the estimated feedforward value to the speed controller. The feedforward value of the current reference is estimated by using a coordinate transformation and is approximated to the current reference after the transition of the control mode. The effectiveness of the proposed scheme is verified by experiments using an IPMSM drive system.

  • This paper proposes a looperless tension control algorithm which is robust to disturbance and tensional variation in rolling process using SVR(Support Vector Regression). Hot rolling process which is global technology to coil steel after continuous finishing process for welded bars followed by roughing mill process, becomes hot issue. Finishing mill process not only makes it possible to produce ultra thin steel strip(0.8 mm) but enhance the quality of terminals of coil, which increases the productivity due to faster process. Constant tension control between stands in hot rolling process is essential to enhance the quality of steel. Sensorless tension control is under research by some advanced companies to replace the conventional tension control method because in continuous finishing mill process, it is impossible to install the looper used in conventional control system. Simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

  • In vector control technique, stator currents of an induction motor are transformed to equivalent d-q currents in reference frame consist of d and q axis, each of which is coincide with flux and torque direction respectively. In this paper, the new algorithm is suggested where the stator current through an induction motor torque is monitored by using a vector control method where an additional equipment is not need. The G-programming is used to apply the suggested algorithm in the experiment and this is applied to an actual system to monitor the torque value of an induction motor on real time. To solve the vibration trouble of estimated torque caused from an unbalanced real rotating speed of an induction motor and measured rotating speed by suggesting the reconstructed in a method based on measurement current signal. This produced system testifies an accuracy of an induction motor through the experiment by comparing the reference value of the control method.

  • This paper presents a simulation results of sensorless control of Switched Reluctance Motor(SRM) using neural network. The basic algorithm of this scheme is based on the flux linkage characteristic according to the phase current and the rotor position. A sufficient simulation data was used for neural network training. Through measurement of the phase flux linkage and phase currents the neural network is able to estimate the rotor position. The simulation result shows some good results, and possibility of this algorithm.

  • In this paper, direct power control system for three-phase PFC AC/DC converter without the source voltage sensors is proposed. The sinusoidal input current and unity effective power factor are realised based on the estimated flux in the observer. Both active and reactive power calculated using estimated flux. The estimation of flux is performed based on the reduced-order virtual flux observer using the actual currents and the command control voltage. Moreover, source voltage sensors are replaced by a estimated flux. DC output voltage has been compensated by DC output ripple voltage estimation algorithm. The active and reactive powers estimation are performed based on the estimated flux and Phase angle. The proposed algorithm is verified through simulation and experiment.
