In the design of the split type free displacer Stilting cryocooler the motion of the displacer is very important to decide the cooling capacity, which depends upon the working gas pressure, the swept volume in the compression space and the expansion space, operating frequency, the phase shift between piston and displacer, etc. In this study, Stirling cryocooler actuated by the electric farce of the dual linear motor is designed and manufactured. Cool down characteristics of the cold end with laser displacement sensor in the expander of the Stilting cryocooler is evaluated. The charging pressure was 15kg$_{f}$/$\textrm{cm}^2$ and operating frequency was 50Hz. Input power and the lowest temperature were about 32W and 67K, respectively. And, displacement of the piston is measured by LVDTs (Linear Variable Differential Transformers), displacement of thedisplacer is measured by laser optic method, and phase shift between piston and displacer is discussed. As the peak-to-peak pressure of the compressor was increased, peak-to-peak displacement of the displacer was increased. The peak-to-peak displacement of the displacer increases in the range of 0 - 64.5Hz(resonant frequency of the displacer), but decreases steeply when the operating frequency is bigger than the resonant frequency. Finally when the phase shift between displacements of the Piston and displacer is 45。, operating frequency is optimum and is decided by resonant frequency of the expander, mass and cross section area of the displacer and constant by friction and flow resistance.e.

We have developed the digital radiography system applied by the one dimensional multiwire proportional chamber. X-ray position signals were obtained from anode wires which were connected to counters through amplifiers and discriminators. The chamber was made of gas flow type and detector gas was P10. The threshold voltage which gives to the discriminator is independent on the neighboring channels. This improved the uniformity of the detector. Then the differential nonlineality is ${\pm}4%$. Increasing the gas pressure, the spatial resolution is about 1.4-mm at which the pitch of the anode wire is 2-mm. The object is scanned in vertical direction to take an image. The number of pixels in the image is $32{\times}32$.
Temperature measurement capability was inter-compared using the transfer standard platinum resistance thermometers(SPRT) among four laboratories of KRISS. The transfer SPRTs were primarily calibrated at the triple point of water and Ga melting point, then used at inter-comparison experiment. Temperature difference of calibration value between temperature laboratory and length laboratory at $20^{\circ}C$ was -0.7 mK and +2.4 mK at density laboratory. Temperature measured near $20^{\circ}C$, $25^{\circ}C$ and $30^{\circ}C$ at fluid flow laboratory was deviated by $34.2{\sim}80.4\;mK$ from the calibration values of the transfer SPRT. Ga melting points was inter-compared among three laboratories, and the difference of Ga melting points against the standard Ga melting point of temperature laboratory were $0.03{\sim}0.54\;mK$ at length laboratory and 0.02 mK at density laboratory.

Conductive rubber material was molded in a belt shape to measure respiration. Its resistivity was approximately $0.03{\;}{\Omega}m$ and the resistance-displacement relationship showed a negative exponent. The temperature coefficient was approximately $0.006{\;}k{\Omega}/^{\circ}C$ negligible when practically applied on the abdomen. The conductive rubber belt was applied on a normal male's abdomen with the dimensional change measured during resting breathing. The abdominal signal was differentiated ($F_{m}$) and compared with the accurate standard air flow rate signal ($F_{s}$) obtained by pneumotachometry. $F_{m}$ and $F_{s}$ differed in waveform, but the start and end timings of each breaths were clearly synchronized, demonstrating that the respiratory frequency could be accurately estimated before further processing of $F_{m}$. $F_{m}-F_{s}$ loop showed a nonlinear hysteresis within each breath period, thus 6 piecewise linear approximation was performed, leading to a mean relative error of 14 %. This error level was relatively large for clinical application, though customized calibration seemed feasible for monitoring general variation of ventilation. The present technique would be of convenient and practical application as a new wearable respiratory transducer.

The selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system is a highly-effective aftertreatment device for NOx reduction of diesel engines. Generally, the ammonia ($NH_3$) was generated from reaction mechanism of SCR in the SCR system using the liquid urea as the reluctant. Therefore, the precise urea dosing control is a very important key for NOx and $NH_3$ slip reduction in the SCR system. This paper investigated NOx and $NH_3$ emission characteristics of urea-SCR dosing system based on model-based control algorithm in order to reduce NOx. In the map-based control algorithm, target amount of urea solution was determined by mass flow rate of exhaust gas obtained from engine rpm, torque and $O_2$ for feed-back control NOx concentration should be measured by NOx sensor. Moreover, this algorithm can not estimate $NH_3$ absorbed on the catalyst. Hence, the urea injection can be too rich or too lean. In this study, the model-based control algorithm was developed and evaluated on the numerical model describing physical and chemical phenomena in SCR system. One channel thermo-fluid model coupled with finely tuned chemical reaction model was applied to this control algorithm. The vehicle test was carried out by using map-based and model-based control algorithms in the NEDC mode in order to evaluate the performance of the model based control algorithm.

Suspended fine mineral particles are deposited at the areas with low flow velocity and low transportation capacity in rivers, reservoirs and lakes. It can be contaminated by heavy metals. Examples of problem fields art dredging of sediment, water pollutants, and maintenance of navigation channels and construction works. To deal with the settling problems it is necessary to understand tile physico-chemical characteristics of cohesive sediment under varying density of particle and ion addition(NaOH, HCl, NaCl), which is dissolved in river, because fine-grained cohesive sediment can lead to flocculation with the physico-chemical influences and takes different characteristics. Experiments with fresh and saline water are followed with fine-grained sediments(alumina and quartz) in settling columns. Settling velocity of suspended fine particles in still water was measured with a pressure sensor(maximum 10 mbar). Until the initial concentration of 20,000 mg/1 of alumina and quartz the settling velocity was on the increase. Above this initial concentration was it on the decrease. In an acid condition, which causes strong flocculation, average settling velocity of quartz powder was high. In an alkaline water low average settling velocity of it was observed. However, alumina behaved exactly contrarily.

Functional residual capacity (FRC) is an important diagnostic parameter measured using $N_{2}$ analyzer. Since $N_{2}$ analyzer is expensive as well as cumbersome for use of noisy vacuum pump, the FRC measurement becomes possible only in large well-equipped hospitals. The present study introduced a new $TN_{2}$ wash-out technique to measure FRC by $O_{2}/CO_{2}$ analysis, which is relatively cheaper and much simpler to apply. Slower $O_{2}$ response was compensated for high frequency to be coincided with $CO_{2}$ response, thereby enabled indirect, but accurate $N_{2}$ concentration measurement. FRC was estimated by continuous integration of expired $N_{2}$ volume obtained with air flow signal. Experiment with 3 L syringe, a standard calibration device recommended by the American Thoracic Society, demonstrated less than 1% error at 0, 1, and 2 L. Correlation coefficient was almost ideal, guaranteeing linear estimation of FRC. The present technique is inexpensive and simple to apply, thus should he of great convenience.

Many of the wells which were constructed to use ground water resource are abandoned and not managed efficiently after its use. And a variety of heavy metals and organic compounds are released from the abandoned wells and this can cause ground water pollution. Therefore in this paper implemented to monitor locational information drill holes and underground water sensing information on real time basis using u-GIS environment to combined ubiquitous sensor node and GIS technology to improve these problems. In addition, this system suggests using system by UML 2.0 by analyzing variety requirement of user and between system internal modules interaction and data flow. It provides graphical user interfaces (GUI) to system users to monitor water-well related property information and its managements for each water-well at remote site by variety platform by GIS map and web environment and mobile device based on smart phone.

The number of pedestrians is considered essential information which can be used to control a person who makes a entrance or a exit into a building. The number of pedestrians, also, can be used to help to manage pedestrian traffic and the volume of pedestrian flow within the building. Due to the fact there is incorrect detection by occluded, shadows, and illumination, however, difficulty can arise in existing system which is for detection and counts of a person who makes a entrance or a exit into a building. In this paper, it is minimized that the change of illumination and the effect of shadow through the transmitted image from camera which is created and processed with great adaptability. The accuracy of the calculations can be increase as well by using Kalman Filter and Mean-Shift Algorithm in order to avoid overlapped counts. As a result of the test, it is proved that the count method that shows the accuracy of 95.4% should be effective for detection and counts.
An experimental chamber was fabricated to observe the gas diffusion behavior of leak gas from underground city-gas pipeline. It was made of acryl so that feeding of gas and the measuring points of the gas could be varied in each experiment. The MOS sensors were used to measure the concentrations of leak gas. The soil media such as the Jumunjin standard sand and the granite weathered soil were used to measure the gas diffusion and the change of leak gas concentrations was measured with time for various gas flow rate. As the distance between the leak point of gas and the measuring point of MOS sensor decreases, or the leak rate increases, the detection time of gas at a measuring points decreases and the gas concentration increases quickly and the concentration of the gas at steady state also increases. As the density of granite weathered soil is higher than that of Jumunjin standard sand for compaction, the detection time of leak gas in the granite weathered soil was longer than that in the Jumunjin standard soil. The leak gas concentrations in the granite weathered soil were lower than those in the Jumunjin standard sand at the beginning of gas leaking from a pipe, but inverse phenomenon was occured at steady state.
