Array gain estimated by spatial coherence in noise fields (소음 환경에서 공간상관성을 이용한 배열이득 추정)

  • Array Gain (AG) is a metric to measure the performance of an array of acoustic sensors. AG is affected by the configuration of array, frequency and array element spacing, and the directivity of the ambient noise. In this paper, an algorithm to calculate AG based on the spatial coherence is used, and the results are verified through sea-going experiment. The method using the spatial coherence can be used to consider the arbitrary shape of an array and directionality of ambient noise. In the sea-going experiment, the towed source was used to transmit the Continuous Wave (CW), and was received at the horizontal line array on the seabed. The ambient noise was measured between the source transmission. The experimental AG was calculated from the SNR (Signal to Noise Ratio) of single sensor and an array of sensors. Finally, the predicted AG is shown to agree with the experimental value of AG.

Study on the 3D Assembly Inspection of Two-Step Variable Valve Lift Modules Using Laser-Vision Technology (레이저 비전을 이용한 2단 가변밸브 리프트 모듈의 3D 조립검사에 대한 연구)

  • A laser-vision-based height measurement system is developed and implemented for the inspection of two-step variable valve lift module assemblies. The proposed laser-vision sensor module is designed based on the principle of laser triangulation. This paper summarizes the work on 3D point cloud data collection and height difference measurements. The configuration of the measurement system and the proposed height measurement algorithm are described and analyzed in detail. Additional measurement experiments on the height differences of valves and lash adjusters of a two-step variable valve lift module were implemented repeatedly to evaluate the accuracy and repeatability of the proposed measurement system. Experimental results show that the proposed laser-vision-based height measurement system achieves high accuracy, repeatability, and stabilization for the inspection of two-step variable valve lift module assemblies.

  • In this paper, a new conceptual circuit configuration of a 3-phase voltage source, soft switching AC-DC-AC converter using an IGBT module, which has one ARCPL circuit and one ARDCL circuit, is presented. In actuality, the ARCPL circuit is applied in the 3-phase voltage source rectifier side, and the ARDCL circuit is in the inverter side. And more, each power semiconductor device has a novel clamp snubber circuit, which can save the power semiconductor device from voltage and current across each power device. The proposed soft switching circuits have only two active power semiconductor devices. These ARCPL and ARDCL circuits consist of fewer parts than the conventional soft switching circuit. Furthermore, the proposed 3-phase voltage source soft switching AC-DC-AC power conversion system needs no additional sensor for complete soft switching as compared with the conventional 3-phase voltage source AC-DC-AC power conversion system. In addition to this, these soft switching circuits operate only once in one sampling term. Therefore, the power conversion efficiency of the proposed AC-DC-AC converter system will get higher than a conventional soft switching converter system because of the reduced ARCPL and ARDCL circuit losses. The operation timing and terms for ARDCL and ARCPL circuits are calculated and controlled by the smoothing DC capacitor voltage and the output AC current. Using this control, the loss of the soft switching circuits are reduced owing to reduced resonant inductor current in ARCPL and ARDCL circuits as compared with the conventional controlled soft switching power conversion system. The operating performances of proposed soft switching AC-DC-AC converter treated here are evaluated on the basis of experimental results in a 50kVA setup in this paper. As a result of experiment on the 50kVA system, it was confirmed that the proposed circuit could reduce conduction noise below 10 MHz and improve the conversion efficiency from 88. 5% to 90.5%, when compared with the hard switching circuit.

  • Response to nerve stimulation platform for implementing measures to detect finger movement has been functioning as an important factor.   • The spread of wireless Internet technology development and applications with location information in the form of location-based services are becoming more diverse. In particular, where you recognize the location of objects such as people and things and to provide valuable services based on the ubiquitous and location-based services are emerging as an important service.   • Use of SiPM has been considered as an alternative to PMT, because of its compact size, low-operating voltage, non-sensitive to electromagnetic, low costs and so on. The main limitation for the use of SiPM is due to its small sensitive area compared to PMT that limits the light collection, and therefore the sensor energy resolution. In this article we studied the effect of increasing the number of SiPM by connecting them in parallel to increase the active detection area. This allowed us to compare the different energy resolution measurements. 137Cs has been selected as reference to study the energy resolution for 662 keV gamma-rays. Another investigation was to compare the minimum detectable gamma energy under various SiPM configurations. It has been found that the use of 4 SiPM arrays can greatly improve the energy resolution up to 4% than only one SiPM array, meanwhile use of more than 2 SiPM arrays does not increase the energy resolution significantly. Thus we can conclude that for a large area of cylindrical scintillator (3 × 3 inches), the use of SiPMs are limited to a certain number or certai active area depending on the commercial SiPMs, and its cost should be less than traditional PMT for the cost-effective and compact size considerations. It is well known that the gain of SiPM varies with temperature. In this article, we also calibrated gain to guarantee the same position of photoelectric peak in response of different temperatures.

Accuracy Analysis of the Orbit Modeling with Various GCP Configurations and Unknown Parameter Sets (기준점 위치와 미지수 조합에 따른 궤도모델링의 정확도 분석)

  • In this paper, we analyzed the accuracy of orbit modeling with various control point configurations and adjustment unknown parameter sets. We used 152 GCP points acquired from GPS surveying, which were distributed from Choon-chun to Nha-ju along 420km in distance. For orbit modeling, seven adjustment parameter sets were chosen to include parameters for satellite position, velocity and attitude angles at different degree of freedom. Firstly we determined the location of model point in seven configurations. Secondly we estimated model parameters for each parameter set and for each GCP configurations. Finally we applied the model to reference check points and analyzed its accuracy. We were able to find the unknown parameter set that produce best orbit modeling performance regardless of the configuration of model points.

  • In this paper, we describe a PCM encoder structure that can update the telemetry system parameters in real time. In the PCM encoder, an analog signal control unit for FPGA, flash memory, and sensor data acquisition was constructed. UART communication, analog signal control, flash memory control, and frame generation are possible through logic inside FPGA of PCM encoder. UART communication allows the PC to transmit parameter data to the PCM encoder, and flash memory is controlled to update the parameter of the telemetry system in real time and finally the frame is formed. Simulation and verification were performed to confirm whether the parameter data is updated in real time, and the proposed structure was used to construct a telemetry system with enhanced flexibility and convenience.

  • In recent years, as safety management in underground mines has become more important in the worldwide, mine safety management technologies combining information communication technology such as real-time worker position tracking, monitoring system and equipment remote control have been developed. Wireless communication system is mainly applied to these technologies for the flexibility of network configuration. There are some cases the monitoring system was installed in domestic underground mines, but, it is necessary to develop the technology more suitable for domestic mining standard. In this study, we developed the real-time environmental monitoring system using ZigBee technology and examined the result of application to domestic limestone mine. Furthermore, applicability of the developed environment monitoring system to $VentSim^{TM}$ LiveView was checked. This study is expected to contribute to the related studies like the optimization of the ventilation system in underground mines.

  • Stereo gamma ray detection system generates a two-dimensional image of the gamma ray by using the position values and the gamma ray signal. And the device will overlap with the visible light image shows the actual distribution of the gamma-ray space. The gamma ray detection device is a stereo configuration to a motion controller for controlling the signal measurement unit and the position detection portion for detecting the detection portion and the gamma-ray signal comprising a gamma-ray detection sensor. In this paper, we developed a system operation management algorithm for each module individually configured efficiently. We confirmed the imaged and distribution information output for the gamma rays from gamma-ray irradiation test site by using these results.
