Gas exchange rates and concentrations of ascorbate and glutathlone were measured in needles of eastern white pine(Pinus strohltr) trees differing in foliar sensitivity to ambient oxidant pollution during a ten month period beginning in mid-June, 1988. Current-year needle dry mass and length was 60 to 75% and 45 to 60% less, respectively, in sens~tive trees than in a tolerant tree. Net photosynthesis ($P_n$) and needle conductance ($g_n$) were greatest in the tolerant individual through late September when the rates begin to decline In trees. Needle transpiration rates showed a trend similar to $P_n$ and $g_n$. Ascorbate and total glutathione concentrations in current-year needles increased through the summer and fall, reached a maximum in mid-winter, and then decreased in the spring. Consistently throughout the year, ascorbate concentration was highest in the tolerant tree until the initial springtime decline began in April. The difference In needle ascorbate between the tolerant and sensitive individuals was greater in the summer months (25 to 30%) than in the winter months (8 to 19%). Glutathione content was similar, as was the ratio or oxidized /reduced glutathione, in both tolerant and sensitive trees.

Since the middle of the 1960's, revitalization of the media art has showed a new paradigm shift as a alternative to existing art genre. According to advances in technology the form of art becomes various. Nowdays, art work which is mixed with media and other genre is popular because of hybrid culture. The image medium has flexibilty to incorporate with other genre because of medium character. The media installation that applied the image medium means to mixed work of sculpture and media. The sculpture and media has been broadened the field through the media installation. this study discuss art works projected image on sculpture among various media installation works. The materiality of the sculpture and the vision of the image mix up each other. It is associated with M. Merleau-Ponty's sens theory.

Nous tentons ici d'une analyse esthetique sur le film d'animation francais "Renaissance". Le film d'animation est un genre du recit d'images. L'on no peut donc le traiter simplement comme les chaines des images sans I'histoire, ni comme I'histoire sans les images. Nous essaions de trouver dans notre etude, un meddle d'analyse sur le film d'animation. L'acces y est commece par expliquer le context du film et son resume de I'histoire. Ensuite, nous travaillons sur les caracteristiques produites par des images(noir et blanc) et des techniques(motion capture). Elles sont considerees comme les traits expressifs, ou les trails formels. Troisiement, on analysr des codes des genres et des sens implicites qui sont presentes dans le film. Apres aborder tous ces prises on comptes, nous les synthetisons dans ie principe d'esthetique. lci, celui-ci est figure comme un accord entre les caractedristiques formelless et les contenus traites. Mais le film n'arrive pas a cette concordance. L'avancee technique et le plaisir visuel que le film nous donne ne sont pourtant pas meprisable memo si I'objectif esthetique du film no s'acheve sur un echec. Notre etude est un peu large afin d'analyser les detailes du film. Nous laisssons cette faiblesss a un autre travail du futur, on etant content sur l'etude qui pout servir a analyser un film d'animation, mame un peu grossierement.

본 논문에서는 사용자의 가상환경 내의 위치 정보에 대한 감각을 향상시키는 방법론으로서 햅틱 피드백(haptic feedback)과 사운드 피드백(sound feedback)의 모달리티를 활용한 그리드(grid)를 제안한다. 제안된 그리드는 사용자의 3차원 공간 내의 움직임(explorative procedure)에 추가적인 비 시각적인(non-visual) 위치정보 피드백을 부여하는데 그 목적을 두고 있다. 햅틱 모달리티를 활용한 3차원 그리드는 SensAble사의 PHANTOM(R) Omni$^{TM}$ 를 활용하여 설계되었으며, 사운드 모달리티를 활용한 경우 저주파 배경음의 주파수 특성(frequency characteristics of sound source)을 사용자 손의 공간 좌표값에 근거하여 재생 시의 표본 추출 비율(sampling rate)를 연속적으로 바꾸는 방식으로 설계되었다. 이러한 공간 그리드는 두 모달리티 각각의 독립적인 제시 및 동시 제시/제거를 통해 평가되었으며, 동시 제시의 경우 두 모달리티간의 어긋남(cross-modal asynchrony)이 없도록 설계되어 사용자의 공간 작업 시 모달리티간의 조화 (manipulating congruency)를 확보할 수 있도록 하였다. 실험을 통해 얻어진 결과는 그것의 통계적 유의미성을 분석하기 위해 다원변량분석과 사후검증(Turkey. HSD)을 거쳐 해석이 되었다. 공간 내 특정 좌표 선택을 기준으로 하는 그리드의 사용자 평과 결과, 3차원 내의 움직임에 대해 햅틱 및 사운드 피드백의 비 시각적 피드백은 사용자의 공간 작업의 오차를 줄여 주고 있음이 확인되었다. 특히 시각적인 정보만으로 확인하기 어려운 Z축 상의 움직임은 그리드의 도움으로 그 오차정도가 50% 이상 줄어 드는 것으로 확인되었다(F=19.82, p<0.01). 이러한 시각적 정보를 보존하는 햅틱, 사운드 피드백 방식을 HCI의 중요한 요소인 사용성과 유용성과 연관시켜 MMHCI(multimodal human-computer interaction) 방법론으로의 적용 가능성을 검토해 본다.

The purpose of this study is to explore high school students' understanding of the distinction between scientific theories and scientific laws. Understanding of the distinction between these two concepts, which belong to the nature of science, has been receiving little attention. We surveyed thirty-two students from a local high school with three-part, open-ended questionnaire. The result revealed that these students shared common misconceptions such as 'scientific theories are unproven, scientific laws are proven and absolute', and 'if a theory is proven with enough evidence, it becomes a law'. Moreover, students tend to regard earth science less sophisticated than physical science, because they recognize a lot of its theories to be unproven in their view. It is indicated further that teaching the difference between scientific theories and laws explicitly could help students possess more appropriate view toward earth science.

The purpose of this research was to apply and conduct a class with Gordon’s Creative Problem Solving Method(Synectics) to the area of ’human development and family relations’among male students in a jr. high school. Subject matters which were appropriate for applying Gordon’s Creative Problem Solving method were selected from ’human development and family relations’area, with problem circumstances set to reflect to the highest degree the interests of individuals and families. An 8 hour teaching instructional guide was constructed with $\boxdr$strategy 1$\boxul$of Gordon’s Creative Problem Solving method in order to solve creatively the established problem. This was practically implied to 70 students(each class had 34 and 36 students respectively) in K middle school located in Seoul. The period of this application was for 3 months during March through May of 1999. The perception of this method was examined by the teachers and students through open-ended questions. The record of perception showed that 56 students out of 70(with no response from 5 students) through that the class done by the creativity problem solving method was good. The majority of reasons mentioned for the positive answers were ’being able to receive different thoughts which were unusual of daily life’. In addition the students who participated in the class were able to foster a joint experience which improved their understanding of relationships and sens of community. moreover students who did not do well n the class or were diffident were encouraged to participate which in result showed that there was even an internal effect.

This study analyzes the surveys of attitudes toward science, the peer relationship, the achievement motivations, and the parents' attitudes to science gifted education. It have been conducted to 53 scientifically gifted and 120 non-gifted students. The findings from the analyses suggest that there exist few meaningful differences in the attitude toward science, the motive for achievements and the peer relationship except in the parents' attitude to the gifted student education. This means that the recognition and the attitude of the parents have great influences on non-gifted students especially female students in the process of resolving to take future directions to science fields and choosing the gifted education center. Accordingly, we are in dire need of the changes in the social recognition of science and it is strongly recommended to seek for the ways of promoting science and supporting engineering graduates at the level of nation, thereby establishing legal and institutional foundations to make effective human resource arrangements.

Au debut I'habit Iiturgique ne differait de I'habit de fete du simple citoyen que par sa richesse. C'est seulement quand, dans la vie courante, on adopta la robe courte que le vetememt liturgique commenca a se distinguer, meme par la forme, du costume civil. Les ornements liturgiques, en effet, ne sont qu'une forme stylisee de l'habit de fete de la fin de l'Empire Romain (du IIIeme au Veme siecle). Pour une ceremonie religieuse on se presente bien habille. Le meme sentiment de respect des choses sacrees a amene deja, vers la fin de l'antiquite chretienne, a donner au pretre un vetememt liturgique special. Pour celebrer la messe, le pretre revet par-dessus sa soutane un costume special, compose de l'amict, de l'aube, du cordon, du manipule, de l'etole et de la chasuble. Aux messes solennelles, les eveques ajoutent a ces ornements des bas et sandales, des gants, la tunique et la dalmatique avee la mitre ; en certain cas, les archeveques y joingnent le pallium. Aux messes solennelles, le diacre porte sur ; l'aube le manipule et la tunique. De ces pieces du costume liturgique, on dira brievement, apres leur emploi et leur forme actel, l'origine et l'histoire, mais seulement apres avoir marque les lignes generales parition et des transformations du costume liturgique dans son ensemble. L'evolution du costume liturgique a partir du XIIIeme siecle peut se resumer en quelques mots en raison souvent de la lourdeur des riches etoffes (velours et brocarts) et de l'importance donne a la decoration, toujours par rechereche d'une plus grande commodite on a abandonne lentement d'abord, puis rapidement adapte a partir du XVI eme siecle, les formes amples pour des formes courtes et etriquees. Il faut faire quelques exceptions qui marquent l'influence des gouts decoratifs de gouts epoque : La periode de 1700 a 1850 marque la complete decadence du costum liturgique. On a depuis essaye de lui rendre sa beaute et aussi sa signification symbolique, par un retour aux etoffes et a la decoration de la deuxieme partie du moyen age. Souhations que, sous la direction des liturgistes, en respectant l'essentiel de la liturgie aujourd'hui, avec le concours d'artistes epris du sens liturgique et des connaisseurs des tradtions et de toutes les ressources actuelles on trouve des costumes liturgiques adaptes a notre temps dans un style plus simple et correspondant au besoins actuels.

The purpose of this study is for considering about Zen fashion in the point of view of culture transition. Through this research, the Far-East including Korea will be confirmed as a center of fashion culture in 21st century. The contents are the meaning of culture transition in Post Modern period, the meaning of Zen and changing of fashion trend as the background of Zen Fashion, and the characteristics of Zen fashion design. The results are as follows: Anti-western movement or dismantlement of culture has been represented the limitation of western centered culture. So the interesting about East means the changing to east from west in ideas. To make new creation in fashion field, the comprehension about the western fashion which has been preceeded and new trials using the our tradition will be needed. Zen is a kind of Buddhism and the essence of it is to find myself and express individual experiences. The change of one's sens of value, new age movement and concerning of environment and ecology make more comfortable, simple and healthy elements in clothing. The fusion style is under a vogue in life style and Zen is the core of this trend. The characteristics of Zen fashion are flat dismantlement which has been know as a Japanese style, oriental minimalism and nature beauty of ecology. This characteristics are found not only the shape, color but the will of the behind. The pursing temperance and naturalism are represented the fashion culture transition from the West to Far-East. Therefore multi points of fashion research is very important and the identify about Korean fashion is required in lately for new fashion paradigm.

Arabic skills are the tools by which children are prepared for the educational procedures on which their life depends. Deaf and hard of hearing students (DHH), must be able to grasp the same Arabic terms as hearing students and their different meanings in a context of different sentences less than what they are supposed to be due to their inability. However, problems arise in the same Arabic word and their different meanings in a context for (DHH) students since the way of comprehending such words does not meet the needs and circumstances of (DHH) students. Therefore, researchers introduce web-based method for Arabic words and their meanings in a context prototype that can overcome those problems. Methodology: The study sample consists of 30 (DHH) students at Al Amal City of Palestine, Gaza Region (GR). Those participants that agreed to take part in this study were recruited using a purposeful sampling method. Additionally, to examine the survey information descriptively, the Statistical Packages for social Sciences (SPSS) version 24.0 was used. A sign language teaching movie is utilized in the prototype to standardize the process and verify that Arabic vocabulary and their implications are comprehended. The Evolutionary Process Model of Prototype technique was utilized to create this system. Finding: The findings of this study show that the prototype built is workable and has the ability to help DHHS differentiate between phrases that have the same letters but distinct meanings. The findings of this study are expected to contribute to a better understanding and application of Development of Web-based Arabic Assessments for (DHH) Students in developing countries, which will help to increase the use of Development of Web-based Arabic for (HDD) students in those countries. The empirical models of Web-based Arabic for (DHH) students are established as a proof of concept for the proposed model. The results of this study are predicted to have a significant impact to the information system practitioners and to the body of knowledge.
