  • Wireless smart sensors, which have become popular for monitoring applications, are an attractive option for implementing structural control systems, due to their onboard sensing, processing, and communication capabilities. However, wireless smart sensors pose inherent challenges for control, including delays from communication, acquisition hardware, and processing time. Previous research in wireless control, which focused on semi-active systems, has found that sampling rate along with time delays can significantly impact control performance. However, because semi-active systems are guaranteed stable, these issues are typically neglected in the control design. This work achieves active control with smart sensors in an experimental setting. Because active systems are not inherently stable, all the elements of the control loop must be addressed, including data acquisition hardware, processing performance, and control design at slow sampling rates. The sensing hardware is shown to have a significant impact on the control design and performance. Ultimately, the smart sensor active control system achieves comparable performance to the traditional tethered system.

  • Hong and Nel in [8] obtained a number of spectral dualities between a cartesian closed topological category X and a category of algebras of suitable type in X in accordance with the original formalism of Porst and Wischnewsky[12]. In this paper, there arises a dual adjointness S $\vdash$ C between the category X = Lim of limit spaces and that A of MV-algebras in X. We firstly show that the spectral duality: $S(A)^{op}{\simeq}C(X^{op})$ holds for the dualizing object K = I = [0,1] or K = 2 = {0, 1}. Secondly, we study a duality between the category of Tychonoff spaces and the category of semi-simple MV-algebras. Furthermore, it is shown that for any $X\;\in\;Lim\;(X\;{\neq}\;{\emptyset})\;C(X,\;I)$ is densely embedded into a cube $I^/H/$, where H is a set.

  • A map is a connected topological graph $\Gamma$ cellularly embedded in a surface. For any connected graph $\Gamma$, by introducing the concertion of semi-arc automorphism group Aut$\_$$\frac{1}{2}$/$\Gamma$ and classifying all embedding of $\Gamma$ undo. the action of this group, the numbers r$\^$O/ ($\Gamma$) and r$\^$N/($\Gamma$) of rooted maps on orientable and non-orientable surfaces with underlying graph $\Gamma$ are found. Many closed formulas without sum ∑ for the number of rooted maps on surfaces (orientable or non-orientable) with given underlying graphs, such as, complete graph K$\_$n/, complete bipartite graph K$\_$m, n/ bouquets B$\_$n/, dipole Dp$\_$n/ and generalized dipole (equation omitted) are refound in this paper.

  • In this work, a closed-form analysis is performed to obtain the stiffness coefficients of thin-walled composites beams with elliptical profiles. The analytical model includes the effects of elastic couplings, shell wall thickness, torsion warping and constrained warping. Reissner's semi-complementary energy functional is used to derive the beam force-displacement relations. The theory is validated against MSC/NASTRAN results for coupled composites beams with single-cell elliptical sections. Very good correlation has been noticed for the test cases considered.

  • Hydrogen in hydrogen-electric vehicles has a wide range of combustion and explosion ranges, and is a combustible gas with a very fast flame propagation speed, so it has the risk of leakage, diffusion, ignition, and explosion. The fuel tank has a Thermally active Pressure Relief Device (TPRD) to reduce the risk of explosion and other explosions, and in the event of an accident, hydrogen inside the tank is released outside before an explosion or fire occurs. However, if an accident occurs in a semi-closed space such as an underground parking lot, the flow of air flow is smaller than the open space, which can cause the concentration of hydrogen gas emitted from the TPRD to accumulate above the explosion limit. Therefore, in this study, the leakage rate and concentration of hydrogen over time were analyzed according to the diameter of the nozzle of the TPRD. The diameter of the nozzle was considered to be 1 mm, 2.5 mm and 5 mm, and ccording to the diameter of the nozzle, the concentration of hydrogen in the underground parking lot increases in a faster time with the diameter of the nozzle, and the maximum value is also analyzed to be larger with the diameter of the nozzle. In underground parking lots where air currents are stagnant, hydrogen concentrations above LFL (Lowe Flammability Limit) were analyzed to be distributed around the nozzle, and it was analyzed that they did not exceed UFL (Upper Flammability Limit).

  • In this paper, the forced vibration problem of an Euler-Bernoulli beam that is joined with a semi-infinite field of a compressible fluid is considered as a boundary value problem (BVP). This BVP includes two partial differential equations (PDE) and some boundary conditions (BC), which are introduced comprehensively. After that, the closed-form solution of this fluid-structure interaction problem is obtained in the frequency domain. Some mathematical techniques are utilized, and two unknown functions of the BVP, including the beam displacement at each section and the fluid dynamic pressure at all points, are attained. These functions are expressed as an infinite series and evaluated quantitatively for a real example in the results section. In addition, finite element analysis is carried out for comparison.

  • In the present paper we study the Cauchy problem in a Banach space E for an abstract nonlinear differential equation of form $$\frac{d^2u}{dt^2}=-A{\frac{du}{dt}}+B(t)u+f(t, W)$$ where W=($A_1$(t)u, A_2(t)u)..., A_{\nu}(t)u), A_{i}(t),\;i=1,2,...{\nu}$,(B(t), t{\in}I$=[0, b]) are families of closed operators defined on dense sets in E into E, f is a given abstract nonlinear function on $I{\times}E^{\nu}$ into E and -A is a closed linar operator defined on dense set in e into E which generates a semi-group. Further the existence and uniqueness of the solution of the considered Cauchy problem is studied for a wide class of the families ($A_{i}$(t), i =1.2...${\nu}$), (B(t), $t{\in}I$) An application and some properties are also given for the theory of partial diferential equations.

  • A general structural model, which is an extension of the Vlassov theory, is developed for the analysis of composite rotor blades with elastic couplings. A comprehensive analysis applicable to both thick-and thin-walled composite beams, which can have either open- or closed profile is formulated. The theory accounts for the effects of elastic couplings, shell wall thickness, and transverse shear deformations. A semi-complementary energy functional is used to account for the shear stress distribution in the shell wall. The bending and torsion related warpings and the shear correction factors are obtained in closed form as part of the analysis. The resulting first order shear deformation theory describes the beam kinematics in terms of the axial, flap and lag bending, flap and lag shear, torsion and torsion-warping deformations. The theory is validated against experimental results for various cross-section beams with elastic couplings.

  • In order to increase the productivity of electrical parts, manufacturing processes using progressive die have been widely used in the industry. If closed-die forging process may be included in the series of the forming process, however, there arise many problems in the die design, such as determination of blank size, feeding method and formability, etc. For the proper design of a process, a prediction of the process is requred to obtain many design parameters. In this work, three-dimensional rigid-plastic finite element analysis is carried out to simulate precision forging process. The forging process of STEM, a part of photo pick-up hologram device, is simulated with the two types of processes, open die forging and semi-closed die forging, respectively. Form the results of analyses, the forging processes can be predicted successfully, which enables to design appropriately the die and the process.
