There have been numerous research and development efforts to automate business processes or execute business processes automatically. Especially, Web service is considered to be one of the most promising technologies. Existing Web service composition languages such as BPEL (Business Process Execution Language) and BPML (Business Process Modeling Language) do not provide full semantic support for business processes. This paper proposes a 3-layer model that consists of business process layer and service layer which can seamlessly integrates business process semantics with service semantics. The proposed model and architecture will enable effective management of business processes as well-defined corporate assets, services that execute tasks to achieve goals of business processes, and software components that comprise services.

Ubiquitous Web Services is able to be specified future Web Services technology for connecting with various application services in any device and network environments. The devices, in ubiquitous environment, have dynamic characteristic such as location and statuse. So, we must support methods of dynamic service discovery in ad-hoc network. There are many related works at transaction, security, QoS, semantic and Web Services composition with various fields. Recently, the studies are interested in the Ubiquitous by development of computing and network technology. However, they are an early stage. For this reason, in this paper, we propose a WSUN(Web Services on Universal Networks) for Ubiquitous Web Services. It is a SOA based framework. And this paper extracts necessity of WSUN environment from scenario. The framework is composed of US Broker(Universal Service Broker). It is designed for satisfying the conditions and supports dynamic service discovery using a US Registry (Universal Service Registry). Consequently. clients are able to discover and use Universal Service by protocol stack of the US Broker for Web Services. And it is a strong point which supports interoperability between heterogeneous networks.

With the advance of information technologies and the spread of Internet use, the volume of usable information is increasing explosively. A content recommendation system provides the services of filtering out information that users do not want and recommending useful information. Existing recommendation systems analyze the records and patterns of Web connection and information demanded by users through data mining techniques and provide contents from the service provider's viewpoint. Because it is hard to express information on the users' side such as users' preference and lifestyle, only limited services can be provided. The semantic Web technology can define meaningful relations among data so that information can be collected, processed and applied according to purpose for all objects including images and documents. The present study proposes a content recommendation search system that can update and reflect personalized profiles dynamically in semantic Web environment. A personalized profile is composed of Collector that contains the characteristics of the profile, Aggregator that collects profile data from various collectors, and Resolver that interprets profile collectors specific to profile characteristic. The personalized module helps the content recommendation server make regular synchronization with the personalized profile. Choosing music as a recommended content, we conduct an experience on whether the personalized profile delivers the content to the content recommendation server according to a service scenario and the server provides a recommendation list reflecting the user's preference and lifestyle.

웹 기반 자료들이 폭발적으로 증가함에 따라 적합한 자료들에 보다 효과적으로 접근할 수 있는 방법이 요구되고 있다. 이러한 새로운 방법들 중의 하나로 제한 검색이 점보 검색 분야에서 제시되었다. 제한 검색은 현재 입력한 검색어의 검색결과를 줄이고자 할 때 이용하는 검색방식으로 전체 문장을 포함하는 자료나 출판 년도, 특정 저널로 제한하여 검색할 수 있으며 일반적인 검색어로 검색할 경우 제한을 주어 결과물을 최대한 줄일 수 있도록 지원하고 있다. 하지만 이러한 검색 방법은 검색의 범위를 URL에 의해 명시되는 사이트 또는 도메인들로만 제한할 수 있을 뿐이며 의미적으로 관련된 사이트들로 제한할 수 없다. 본 논문에서는 정보의 공유를 목적으로 하는 커뮤니티를 시맨틱 웹 서비스(Semantic Web Services) 기술을 이용하여 플랫폼에 상관없이 사용자 검색 질의와 가장 유사한 커뮤니티를 의미적으로 식별해 내고 커뮤니티 내의 정보 중 질의와 관련된 정보를 검색결과로 도출할 수 있는 구조를 제안한다.

Wikipedia infoboxes have emerged as an important structured information source on the web. To compose infobox for an article, considerable amount of manual effort is required from an author. Due to this manual involvement, infobox suffers from inconsistency, data heterogeneity, incompleteness, schema drift etc. Prior works attempted to solve those problems by generating infobox automatically based on the corresponding article text. However, there are many articles in Wikipedia that do not have enough text content to generate infobox. In this paper, we present an automated approach to generate infobox for movie domain of Wikipedia by extracting information from several sources of the web instead of relying on article text only. The proposed methodology has been developed using semantic relations of article content and available semi-structured information of the web. It processes the article text through some classification processes to identify the template from the large pool of template list. Finally, it extracts the information for the corresponding template attributes from web and thus generates infobox. Through a comprehensive experimental evaluation the proposed scheme was demonstrated as an effective and efficient approach to generate Wikipedia infobox.

The current technological revolution pushes forward the innovation in the library information systems. This study proposes functional requirements and an architectural reference model of Semantic Library, recognized as a prototype of next-generation library information systems, that is a seamless convergence of the library information systems and the Internet technologies. Semantic Library can realize semantic interoperability and integration based on ontology and metadata, and also renovate information services for users with openness, sharing, participation and collaboration. Semantic Library will be effectively implemented by means of service-oriented architecture and the logical structure of FRBR. In this study, a reference model of Semantic Library consisting of 6 horizontal layers and 3 vertical elements is presented as a next-generation model of library information systems.

웹 서비스의 등록, 검색, 조합, 실행을 자동적으로 수행할 수 있도록 웹 서비스에 시맨틱 웹 기술을 적용시킨 것이 시맨틱 웹 서비스(Semantic Web Services)이다. 시맨틱 웹 서비스는 원하는 서비스를 찾으려는 사용자의 노력을 줄이기 위해 기계가 이해할 수 있는 정보를 서비스에 추가시킴으로써 정확하게 원하는 서비스를 찾을 수 있게 해준다. 수많은 서비스들 중 같은 역할을 하는 서비스들이 있을 수가 있다. 그 중 하나의 서비스만을 선택해야 할 때 서비스의 기능이 아닌 질적인 측면에서 QoS(Quality of Service)를 고려하면 최선의 서비스를 선택을 하는데 도움을 줄 수 있다. 따라서 시맨틱 웹 서비스의 검색과 조합의 측면에서 매치메이킹(matchmaking)에 대한 연구의 하나로써 QoS의 매칭에 대한 연구를 수행하게 되었다. 기존의 QoS 매칭과 관련된 연구에서 QoS의 유사도를 계산하는 방법은 QoS 요소의 값의 특성을 반영하지 않는다는 것과 QoS 유사도의 순위가 놓더라도 좋은 서비스라는 것을 의미하지 않는다는 두 가지 문제점을 발견하였다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 기존 연구의 문제점을 해결할 수 있는 방법을 제시하고자 한다. 먼저 기존의 웹 서비스 관련 연구에서 논의된 여러 QoS 모델을 수렴하여 QoS 모델의 요소들을 결정하였다. 그리고 기존 연구의 두 가지 문제점을 해결하기 위해 각 QoS 요소의 표준편차를 이용한 표준 값을 구하여 QoS 요소의 값의 특성을 반영하였다. 또한 매칭 결과 순위가 높은 것이 사용자에게 더 선호되는 좋은 서비스라는 것을 보장하는 메커니즘을 제안하였다.

인터넷의 발전 과정에서 데이터 중심의 시맨틱 웹 기술과 서비스 중심의 웹 서비스 기술은 시맨틱 웹 서비스라는 융합기술로 발전하고 있다. 본 고에서는 시맨틱 웹 서비스의 핵심 기술인 어노테이션, 발견, 조합, 실행, 중재 기술에 대해 소개하고, 산업계와 학계의 연구 동향을 분석한다. 더불어 시맨틱 웹 서비스 기술이 융복한 서비스 발전에 미치는 영향을 간략히 고찰하고자 한다.

As the Web technologies and wired/wireless network are improved and various new multimedia services are introduced recently, need for searching multimedia including video data has been much increasing, The previous approaches for multimedia retrieval, however, do not make use of the relationships among semantic concepts contained in multimedia contents in an efficient way and provide only restricted search results, This paper proposes a multimedia retrieval system exploiting semantic relevancy of multimedia contents based on a domain ontology, We show the effectiveness of the proposed system by experiments on a prototype system we have developed. The proposed multimedia retrieval system can extend a given search keyword based on the relationships among the semantic concepts in the ontology and can find a wide range of multimedia contents having semantic relevancy to the input keyword. It also presents the results categorized by the semantic meaning and relevancy to the keyword derived from the ontology. Independency of domain ontology with respect to metadata on the multimedia contents is preserved in the proposed system architecture.

To effectively manage research information in the field of national defense, metadata about the information should be managed systematically, and an integrated system to help convergence and management of the information should be implemented based on the metadata. In addition, the system should provide the users with effective integrated search services in a mobile environment, because searching via the use of mobile devices is increasing. The objective of this paper is to suggest a MSISS (Mobile Semantic Integrated Search System), which satisfies the requirements for effective management of the national defense research information. Specifically, we defined national defense research ontologies and national defense research rules after analyzing the Dublin Core metadata and database information of the major military research institutions. We implemented a prototype system for MSISS to demonstrate the use of the ontologies and rules for semantic integrated searching of the military research information. We also presented a triple-based search service to support semantic integrated search in a mobile environment and suggested future mobile semantic integrated search services.
