  • The effects of job related factors on psychosocial health status were examined by taking job stress into account. The self-administered questionnaires were performed, during the period between Oct. 1st, 2009 and Nov. 30th, 2009, to 805 individuals in the service of general administration located in Daejeon City. Causal relationships between job related factors, job stress, and, psychosocial health status were examined by structural equation model. The main finding as follows: For correlations of such indices of psychosocial health status as PWI and MFS with various studied items, all of these two indices were found to be in a negative correlation with the job position, job career, satisfaction in job life, autonomy of job, supervisors support and coworkers support, whereas in positive correlation with the experience of sick absence per year and job demand. With the analysis of structural equation model, the degree of job stress factors was more influential on the level of psychosocial health status than job related factors in such a manner as that the greater the job stress, while the lower the job related factors, the higher the psychosocial health status(PWI and MFS). Moreover, it was found to have the inter-relational effects that the greater the job related factors, the lower the job stress factors. Thus the effective strategy for stress and fatigue symptoms reduction among governmental employees requires additional programs focusing on innovated job specifications.

Third, which variables among the university experiences for job searching and application impacts the job quality and income level of the natural sciences and engineering graduates? To find out the research results, this study conducts a panel data analysis with GOMS (Graduates Occupational Mobility Survey) throughout survey year of 2006 to 2015, towards 568,264 as weighted value number. As analysis methods, this study carries out a descriptive analysis, ANOVA, discriminant analysis, linear regression and T-test. Therefore, here are the brief outputs of the study; first, for natural sciences and engineering students, the off-campus experiences such as job fair, job recruit festival and internship programs are more favored; second, female students are more likely to attend personal and self-driven job preparation programs; third, on job market performance, the graduates' income level and company scale rate are higher in the male but job stability is higher in the female; fourth, as a result of the linear regression, gender factor decides the income level in considerable degree; additionally, gender factor shows the difference of the job satisfaction and self-effectiveness on one's job as a qualitative variables. For obtaining strictness, university program factors are controlled through model fitness process. As above, this study finds out the main factors of university life of natural sciences and engineering graduates which are related their job searching and preparation experiences and figures out stronger factors in job market; and examines the statistically significance of the gender in this casual-effect relationship between job preparation and job quality of the graduates.

  • Recently, various public transportation activation policies are being implemented in order to mitigate traffic congestion in metropolitan areas. Especially in the metropolitan area, the bus information system has been introduced to provide information on the current location of the bus and the estimated arrival time. However, it is difficult to predict the travel time due to repetitive traffic congestion in buses passing through complex urban areas due to repetitive traffic congestion and bus bunching. The previous bus travel time study has difficulties in providing information on route travel time of bus users and information on long-term travel time due to short-term travel time prediction based on the data-driven method. In this study, the path based long-term bus travel time prediction methodology is studied. For this purpose, the training data is composed of 2015 bus travel information and the 2016 data are composed of verification data. We analyze bus travel information and factors affecting bus travel time were classified into departure time, day of week, and weather factors. These factors were used into clusters with similar patterns using self organizing map. Based on the derived clusters, the reference table for bus travel time by day and departure time for sunny and rainy days were constructed. The accuracy of bus travel time derived from this study was verified using the verification data. It is expected that the prediction algorithm of this paper could overcome the limitation of the existing intuitive and empirical approach, and it is possible to improve bus user satisfaction and to establish flexible public transportation policy by improving prediction accuracy.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop teaching learning process plans with problem-based learning using book-making applying to the "Dressing and Self Expression" unit and evaluate its effect in middle school home economics for first grade. We developed teaching learning process plans with problem-based learning using book-making including 9 teaching materials for teachers and 15 learning materials for students. Further, we conducted and investigated pre- and post-tests in a form of questionnaires in 167 students from a girls' middle school in Pusan. Teaching learning process plans with problem-based learning using book-making showed positive results in body satisfaction, such as reduction in distortion or less dissatisfaction regarding students' body images. Also, they were found to be less affected by sociocultural attitude towards appearance. The estimation of students included the positive contents that the class was interested with various materials and it provided them with a chance to understand their body. Meanwhile, minor comments pointed out lack of time and complained of the amount of assignments. With these results, we found that teaching learning process plans with problem-based learning using book-making was an appropriate model to achieve the purpose of this study and we suggested that this class might be applied to other units of middle school home economics.

  • The university is attempting educational innovation to cultivate talents required by society. The purpose of this study was to prove the educational effect by applying the PBL to on a fashion theoretical course. The research methods are theatrical research and model development research to guide to utilizing PBL. As a result of this study, the learners' satisfaction with the subject applying PBL was evaluated quite positively. In general, it has been shown to have a very effective effect on improving the learner's problem-solving capability, cooperative learning capability, and self-directed learning capability. In particular, the problem-solving capability is relatively high compared to other factors. The result is consistent with the educational goal of the PBL for improving the learner's problem-solving capability. Perceivable correlation analysis on the relationship between the factors to grasp the educational effect of the PBL revealed the factors with a static correlation. In particular, the problem solving capability and cooperative learning capability developed a significant correlation with self-directed learning capability. This is a testament to their ability to exert greater influence when the competencies that each learner develops are combined.

  • This study investigated the awareness and purchase status of the private dental insurance. Self-reported survey was conducted with patients over the age of twenties who visited dental institutions located in Seoul Metropolitan City and Gyeonggi Province. The demographic and health related characteristics of respondents were analyzed, and logistic regression was conducted to examine factors affecting the awareness and purchase of private dental insurance. Because only four years had been passed since the introduction of private dental insurance, the awareness and purchase rate was found to be low. However, the number of people considering subscription due to the economic burden of dental care service was relatively high. Factors affecting awareness were satisfaction of the national health insurance, purchase of private health insurance and private dental insurance, self-perceived dental health status, and smoking. The variables affecting purchase of dental insurance were age, awareness, purchase of private health insurance, smoking, number of visits to dental institution. Because qualitative and quantitative change would be made in the dental care utilization due to the rapidly growing dental insurance subscribers, further studies regarding the trend of purchase rate of private dental insurance and the effect of dental insurance on use of dental institution are needed.
