Purpose: This study observes the degrees of perfectionism (both self-oriented and socially-prescribed perfectionism), academic resilience, and satisfaction with major in nursing students and identifies the influence of perfectionism and academic resilience on satisfaction with major. Methods: Data from 115 second or third-year students in a nursing were collected for two months at different three universities. The data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient, and hierarchical multiple regression. Results: Satisfaction with major was higher for second year students compared to third year students. And the satisfaction was higher for those with a higher Grade point average (${\geq}_-3.5$) compared to those with a lower. Self-oriented perfectionism had a higher score than socially-prescribed perfectionism and academic resilience based on self-control was rated the highest score of the subcategories. The degree of satisfaction was positively correlated with Self-oriented perfectionism and academic resilience. The final regression model showed that grade and academic resilience accounted for 34.2% of the variance in predicting the level of satisfaction with major. Conclusion: The results suggest that it is crucial to find a strategy that could enhance academic resilience, especially designed for upper-year university students, to improve the level of satisfaction with major.

Conclusion: For improvement on career decision-making self-efficacy and career identity of health science college students, individual support, psychological support, educational support and other supports regarding job employment to provide wide paths and methods for job preparation behaviors are essential, and through various job employment education program and graded counseling, job preparation behaviors shall be promoted as a great strategy.
This study is designed to figure out the effects of major selection motivation on career efficacy and major satisfaction of college students majoring in culinary and foodservice management. To achieve this purpose, a survey was carried out to 209 college students. The findings showed that their major selection had a significant effect on their career efficacy and major satisfaction. But the mediating effect of their career efficacy as a mediator - which improves their major selection and major satisfaction - was partially adopted. Consequently, their internal and external participation motivation for their major selection is a facilitating mechanism to maximize their major satisfaction, and it is necessary to limit the use as a mediating variable of their career efficacy.

The Pattern of Young Child-Mother Attachment and the Self-Concept in Young Children. This work sheds light on the patterns of chi1dren's attachment to their mother and the self-concept of young children. Ninety-two participants were selected from kindergarten and nurseries in the city of Taegu. All the children were from 3 to 5 clears old. The measurement instruments were the attachment story completion task, created by Cassidy, and the self-concept test, designed and used by Bently and Yeatts. The data was analyzed by using frequencies, percentages, independent-samples t-test, one-way ANOVA, and the Scheffe test. The study's major findings are as follows: First, in the area of young child-mother attachments, the most common pattern was a secure attachment. The percentage of insecure-avoidant attachment was similar to that of the insecure-ambivalent attachment. Second, in terms of gender, there were no significant differences in self-concept among young children. Third, the self-concept held by young children varied significantly according to age. The younger the age, the more positive was the self-concept. Finally, the self-concept of children varied greatly according to the pattern of child-mother attachment. Those children who were more securely attacked to their mothers evidenced a more positive self-concept than those children who were insecurely attached to their mother.

BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: Childhood obesity has increased in recent decades in Korea. This study was designed to examine differences in the eating habits, physical activity (PA), nutrition knowledge, and self-efficacy of children by obesity status. SUBJECTS/METHODS: Subjects were 5th-grade children from 70 elementary schools in 17 cities nationwide. Two-stage stratified cluster sampling was employed. Survey questionnaire included items related to general characteristics, eating habits, PA, nutrition knowledge and self-efficacy. Excluding incomplete responses, 3,531 data were analyzed using SPSS. Subjects were categorized into overweight obesity (OW) and normal weight (NW) groups based on body mass index percentiles for age by sex. RESULTS: A total of 21.5% of subjects was overweight or obese. There were significant differences in gender, perceived stress, perception of body shape, body satisfaction, and interest in weight control between the OW and NW groups (P < 0.001). With respect to eating habits, the OW group ate breakfast (P < 0.05) and snacks (P < 0.01) less frequently, ate bigger meals (P < 0.001), and demonstrated less desirable behaviors during meals (P < 0.05 in boys) compared to the NW group. The OW group participated in less PA than the NW group, especially boys. OW boys spent less time walking during weekdays (P < 0.05) or the weekend (P < 0.001), spent more time being sedentary during weekdays or the weekend (P < 0.001), and exercised a fewer number of days (P < 0.01). For girls, the OW group spent more time being sedentary during the weekend (P < 0.01) and exercised a fewer number of days by walking or bicycle riding (P < 0.05) than the NW group. Nutrition knowledge was not significantly different between the OW and NW groups. Self-efficacy (P < 0.01 in boys), especially PA self-efficacy (P < 0.01), was significantly lower in the OW than NW group. CONCLUSIONS: This study revealed differences in eating habits, PA, and self-efficacy between OW and NW children. Obesity management programs for children need to focus on increasing self-efficacy, modifying eating habits, and increasing PA.
The current study was designed to expand oar understanding of children's entertainer idolization phenomenon by investigating the relationship between Korean teens'entertainer idolization and their self-esteem. Purpose : This study was purposed to analyze the effectiveness of PBL (Problem-Based Learning) classes and to derive class improvement plans. Methods : The subjects of the study were 48 students who took the 4th grade clinical dental hygiene course at S University located in Chungcheongnam-do of South Korea in 2021. A single-group pre and post experimental study was designed to verify whether there were significant changes in the research variables of students who participated in the class to which problem-based learning was applied. A paired-sample t-test was conducted for the collected data of 46 respondents. Results : As a result, the degree of improvement in problem clarification, cause analysis, and alternative development among the five sub-areas of problem-solving ability was statistically significant. This means that the problem-based learning class positively affects dental hygiene major students' ability to clarify problems, the ability to analyze causes to collect and analyze information, and the ability to develop alternatives to make decisions, thereby improving overall problem-solving abilities. However, the improved post-score was not statistically significant in the planning/execution and performance evaluation of the remaining two subdomains. In addition, post-scores of the leader aspect, opinion exchange, opinion evaluation, and opinion integration, which are sub-domains of collaborative self-efficacy, all showed great statistical significance. Problem-based learning improved the collaborative efficacy of dental hygiene major students overall by positively influencing the ability to lead a team, exchange and evaluate each other's views, and constructively integrate different views. Conclusion : It was found that both the subject's problem-solving ability and cooperation efficiency improved under the influence of problem-based learning. On the other hand, implications for improvement of the future class such as the necessity of supplementing strategies to promote planning and execution ability for problem solving, and ability to evaluate problem solving performance was suggested.
