  • As the considerable request of the fast and accurate way of the selection of circuit breaker is increased, we introduce the development of software of circuit breaker selection for the marine use. Originally, the selection of circuit breaker has been carried out by manual in the marine project. It is not the easy work to select the proper type of circuit breaker to check the time-current characteristic curves of each type of circuit breakers for the various type of loads. In this regards, we developed the software to select the proper type of circuit breaker to confirm fast and accurately. And, we introduce the course of the development of the software for the selection of circuit breaker.

전류방식 CMOS에 의한 ROM 형의 다치 논리 회로 설계 (Design of Multiple Valued Logic Circuits with ROM Type using Current Mode CMOS)

  • The multiple valued logic(MVL) circuit with ROM type using current mode CMOS is presented in this paper. This circuit is composed of the multiple valued-to-binary(MV/B) decoder and the selection circuit. The MV/B decoder decodes the single input multiple valued signal to N binary signal, and the selection circuits is composed N$\times$N array of the selecion cells with ROM types. The selection cell is realized with the current mirror circuits and the inhibit circuits. The presented circuit is suitable for designing the circuit of MVL functions with independent variables, and reduces the number of selection cells for designing the circuit of symmetric MVL functions as many as {($N^2$-N)/2}+N. This circuit possess features of simplicity. expansibility for array and regularity, modularity for the wire routing. Also, it is suitable for VLSI implementation.

고속 영상처리를 위한 다중접근 기억장치의 구현 (An Implementation of Multiple Access Memory System for High Speed Image Processing)

  • This paper considers and implementation of the memory system which provides simultaneous access to pq image points of block(p$\times$q), horizontal vector(1$\times$pq)and/vertical vector(pq$\times$1) in 2-dimension image array, where p and q are design parameters. This memory system consists of an address calculation circuit, address routing circuit, data routing circuit, module selection circuit and m memory modules where m>qp. The address calculation circuit computes pq addresses in parallel by using the difference of addresses among image points. Extra module assignment circuit is not used by improving module selection circuit with routhing circuit. By using Verilog-XL logic simulator, we verify the correctness of the memory system and estimate the performance. The implemented system provides simultaneous access to 16 image points and is 6 times faster than conventional memory system.

  • The safety and reliability of the power system short-circuit current, the short-circuit current depends on the failure to obtain the objective is to quickly eliminate the breaking capacity of the circuit-breaker selection of the cable, the insulation of electrical equipment and protective relay an important factor in determining the level correction and protective relay selection scheme to be meaningful. Standards used in the domestic circuit breaker is applied to the production of IEC standard, but the American National Standards (ANSI / IEEE) by NEMA specification of the fault current calculations and the application of the asymmetric coefficient Korea. Therefore, in this paper, the IEC 60909 standard IEC breaker fault current calculation method and the method for selection of system configurations reviewed and protection system for reviewing the configuration of various protective relays appropriate correction and the correction value is main protection, back-up protection the equipment so that the period of protection relay coordination to minimize accidents and accident protection to minimize interruptions proposed for cooperation.

  • 채널튜닝전압 자체를 기억시키는 종래의 전압합성방식을 개선, 10키이를 통하여 입력시킨 채널번호에 의해 튜닝전압을 계산하여 VHF 및 UHF 전대역에 실제채널번호를 표시하면서 직접접근선국(direct access channel selection)할 수 있는 회로를 설계하였다. 또한 본 회로는 택안(search)에 의한 미세튜닝 및 방송이 없을 경우의 표시를 자동적으로 행하며, 2개의 키이로 채널 전반을 순차적으로 선국할 수 있는 기능도 가지게 하였다.

  • This paper analyzes how to calculate the three phase short-circuit currents for ac electrical system and select the high & low voltage circuit breaker based on IEC60609, IEC60056 and IEC60947-2 standards. We proposed the multiplying factor considering system time constant and circuit breaker rating to select circuit breaker accurately.

  • Power system is becomming more and more complex and large. So system is stressed increasingly. This paper presents a method to select contingency ranking in power systems for EMS operation. Firstly, the proposed method is applied line outage using Thevenin equivalent circuit. Secondly, Contingency harmful to system is selected by loss variation between base case and fault. Thirdly, this paper prescribed simulated line sequence. Therefore this algorithm shows higher computation speed and effective memory use.

  • A personal low-frequency stimulator is a portable device to relax muscle pains of a person. The stimulator generates combined low-frequency pulses to be applied to pads attached to painful muscles. This paper reports a development of such device with its characteristic analyses. The major components of our stimulator are MCU, high-voltage generating circuit part, high-voltage switching circuit part, input switch part and display unit. High-voltage generating circuit is designed by using a boost converter circuit and allows user control of the output voltage. High-voltage switching circuit, controlled by MCU, generates output voltage to be applied to pads. Input switch part is composed of power supply, intensity selection, mode selection and memory. Display unit adopts a text LCD module to display modes, Intensity, output frequency and user set-up time. Our designed safety circuit, to protect human body from possible electric shock, slowly increases the output voltage to the selected output intensity. It continuously checks the output pulse shape and disable the output when dangerous pulses are detected. This paper also shows some experimental results.

  • 원전에서 각종 전자카드는 시간에 경과함에 따라 열화가 되므로 이에 대한 대책이 필요하다. 이 열화 카드들 중에서 노외중성자감시시스템의 카드들은 방사선원의 레벨에서 발생되는 중성자속을 총 원자로출력의 200%까지 연속적으로 감시하게 되는데, 원자로출력이 낮을 때의 경우와 높을 때의 경우의 출력감시신호처리 방법이 달라야 한다. 원자로 출력이 낮을 때는 대수적으로 발생되는 펄스신호를 선형적으로 계수하여 신호처처리를 해야 되지만, 원자로 출력이 커지게 되면 통계이론에 의한 방법으로 처리해야 정확한 값을 얻을 수 있기 때문이다. 이때 전자카드가 열화되는 것이 문제가 된다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 저출력일 때와 고출력일 때의 신호처리 방법을 달리하여 일정한 기준에 의한 원자로의 출력레벨에서 이를 저출력에서 고출력으로 전환하기 위한 열화 입력선택회로를 개발하였다. 개발된 선택회로의 신뢰성을 확인하기 위하여 원전에서 사용되는 실제의 데이터값을 적용하여 테스트하였으며, 그 결과를 분석하여 선택회로의 정당성을 입증하였다.

Investigations on the Optimal Support Vector Machine Classifiers for Predicting Design Feasibility in Analog Circuit Optimization

  • In simulation-based circuit optimization, many simulation runs may be wasted while evaluating infeasible designs, i.e. the designs that do not meet the constraints. To avoid such a waste, this paper investigates the use of support vector machine (SVM) classifiers in predicting the design's feasibility prior to simulation and the optimal selection of the SVM parameters, namely, the Gaussian kernel shape parameter ${\gamma}$ and the misclassification penalty parameter C. These parameters affect the complexity as well as the accuracy of the model that SVM represents. For instance, the higher ${\gamma}$ is good for detailed modeling and the higher C is good for rejecting noise in the training set. However, our empirical study shows that a low ${\gamma}$ value is preferable due to the high spatial correlation among the circuit design candidates while C has negligible impacts due to the smooth and clean constraint boundaries of most circuit designs. The experimental results with an LC-tank oscillator example show that an optimal selection of these parameters can improve the prediction accuracy from 80 to 98% and model complexity by $10{\times}$.
