This paper analyzes the time-shift technique in Joseph Conrad's Lord Jim. Conrad's manipulation of time in this novel is based on his aspiration for how 'to make you see,' which he believes is completed through the harmony form and substance in his works. So Conrad applies this technique which was used earlier by some writers such as Laurence Sterne to his Lord Jim to show its theme more effectively. In Lord Jim, the story consists of two parts; first, Jim jumps from a ship called the Patna and is deprived of his navigation certificate. Secondly, he wins the people's respect in Patusan in which his past related to the Patna remains hidden, but he faces his death by taking responsibility for the death of the chief's son in the island. These events in Lord Jim are not described in chronological order; that is, some events are depicted with the time-shift technique using flashback, association, or fragmentary memory to accelerate the speed of stories as well as to offer the actuality of the events. With this structure, the themes of Jim's story have something to do with his heroic actions and failures. Jim wants to be a hero and after failures he struggles to redeem himself only to fail. In particular, Jim's jump from the Patna is emphasized through the time-shift and it shows there is something incomprehensible in his action. Therefore, Conrad reveals in Lord Jim that Jim is one of us who not only are imperfect but also have the weaknesses inside that can unexpectedly emerge in an instant.

Securities and investment services have and use large data. Investors started to invest through their own analysis methods. There are 22 major securities and investment companies in Korea and only 6 companies support open API. Python is effective for requesting and receiving, analyzing text data from open API. Daishin Securities Co. is the only open API that officially supports Python, and eBest Investment & Securities Co. unofficially supports Python. There are two important differences between CYBOS plus of Daishin Securities Co. and xingAPI of eBest Investment & Securities Co. First, we must log in to CYBOS plus to access the server of Daishin Securities Co. And the python program does not require a logon. However, to receive data using xingAPI, users log on in an individual Python program. Second, CYBOS plus receives data in a Request/Reply method, and zingAPI receives data through events. It can be thought that these points will show a difference in response time. Response time is important to users who use open APIs. Data were measured from August 5, 2021, to February 3, 2022. For each measurement, 15 repeated measurements were taken to obtain 420 measurements. To increase the accuracy of the study, both APIs were measured alternately under same conditions. A paired t-test was performed to test the hypothesis that the null hypothesis is there was no difference in means. The p-value is 0.2961, we do not reject null hypothesis. Therefore, we can see that there is no significant difference between means. From the boxplot, we can see that the distribution of the response time of eBest is more spread out than that of Cybos, and the position of the center is slightly lower. CYBOS plus has no restrictions on Python programming, but xingAPI has some limits because it indirectly supports Python programming. For example, there is a limit to receiving more than one current price.

This study attemps to rethink assumption that the family can be 'a heaven' to everyone in a harsh world through theoretical review Functionalists insist that people feel emotional secure through family life. However this pers-pective sees only the one side of the family experience ignoring the other side of its tension and conflicts in the family. From marxist perspective the family experiences may not be the same among different social classes due to their economic inequality, It might be that middle class family is more likely to experiences emotional secure than any other social class. Feminists have challenged prevalent assumptions about the family. They see that women are oppressed by the family. These results mean that marxist and feminist perspectives compensate for the limitation of functionalism. I'd like to propose that marxist and feminist perspectives can be used framewrok for the family study.

The intermediate product resulting from the radical degradation experiment of PCE and the atomic charge gained through Gaussian03W were compared against each other. The result was that the ratio of PCE radical degradation was almost 98% or higher after the 9 hr point in reaction time. The reaction speed constant was $0.16hr^{-1}$ and it followed the first reaction. We could see that at each location of the PCE molecule, dechlorination happened at a point where the negative atomic charge was the greatest. Moreover, the intermediate product of PCE radical degradation that was confirmed in the experiment and literature coincided exactly with the intermediate product in the atomic charge calculation. Therefore, when the atomic charge is calculated, the radical degradation pathway of the organic chlorine compound could be forecast.

We face with numerous situation of decision making. In this situation, we would make decision through individual's own information, or others' decision making with ignoring private information, Also we would make decision through compromise of private information and others' information. like this, we call situation to imitate information of previous decision maker, with disregarding private own information,'information cascades' Also, anchoring effects are results of insufficient adjustment from an arbitrary value. In this paper, we examined how information cascades effects and anchoring effects would be generated in the people who use IT technique as instant poll of website. And this paper presents alternatives to decrease information cascades effects and anchoring effects. This exercise provides facts anchoring effects occur when voters can see poll result. And this paper shows that more degree of output difference is deepened, and more anchoring effects occur. Also this paper shows that when website gives positive payoff, more anchoring effects occur.

Consumers' awareness has been changing through the development of information industry and change of life style. To understand the new generation came to be our concern in terms of being able to predict the trend of the future. Companies are trying to go through the market-change by making a marketing strategy that matches their emotion and characteristics. There should be a research on the new generation, specially university students, according to sex. Therefore, this research covers the university students in early twenties to see the differences between sexes. Foodservice industry needs to have consideration on coupon-books. It is reconfirmed that advertisement by word of mouth is still effective in sales promotion.

There are not much digital contents researches that do to culture relics basically. Digital contents research is studied by various method such as Cyber Gallery, 3-D Graphics, Hologram from Scanning that is the simplest form. Present result that investigator develops research and as presentation about research process and contents result, wish to argue about problem. Digital contents escapes in existent physical time factor and development to new culture code is possible. Through research, wished to present possible metheod actually in digital contents manufacture of internal cultural inheritance. Educators have found that the concept of randomness is often misunderstood by students. Chance recently pointed out that students should be introduced to the concept of randomness through the use of simulations. In this article, we studied various aspects of the probability distribution off linear random path in a circle and introduce some related simulations to guide student exploration and discovery. Consider a random line segment that crosses a circle with a certain radius. Perhaps it can be considered to be a path that an airplane shows up and flies into a random direction in a monitor. What is the expected amount of flying distance through the monitor, and the expected variation\ulcorner Are we monitoring what we see scientifically\ulcorner This article studies the probability distribution and some related aspects of a linear random path within a circular monitor. Some simulative activity is also introduced which can be used in a statistics or probability classes.

Living cells are sustained not by individual activities but rather by coordinated summative efforts of different biological functional modules. While recent research works have focused largely on finding individual functional modules, this paper attempts to explore the connections or relationships between different cellular functions through cross-function domain interaction maps. Exploring such a domain interaction map can help understand the underlying inter-function communication mechanisms. To construct a cross-function domain interaction map from existing genome-wide protein-protein interaction datasets, we propose a two-step procedure. First, we infer conserved domain-domain interactions from genome-wide protein-protein interactions of yeast, worm and fly. We then build a cross-function domain interaction map that shows the connections of different functions through various conserved domain interactions. The domain interaction maps reveal that conserved domain-domain interactions can be found in most detected cross-functional relationships and a f9w domains play pivotal roles in these relationships. Another important discovery in the paper is that conserved domains correspond to highly connected protein hubs that connect different functional modules together.

The rapidly growing at which information is produced and used in our complex society has presented us with major problems in information transfer. Resource sharing is almost universally accepted by librarians as the only realistic means for meeting future demands and no doubt the future will see continued growth in computer-based library networks for resource sharing. The resort to networking by many library and information institutions may be symptomatic of the difficulties they face in dealing with their rapidly changing environment. In this article, the library network is examined in relationship to resource sharing. Included is a discussion of the definitions of library network and other related terms, the main factors in the emergence of library network concept, the history of the concept of library networks, resource sharing through the library networks, the problems by which the development of networks is confronted, and prospects.
