토탄을 이용한 저질개선제가 꼬막 Tegillarca granosa의 혈액학적 성상에 마치는 영향 (Effects of Sediment Improvements with Peat Moss on the Blood Properties of Blood Cockle, Tegillarca granosa)

  • 토탄과 같은 자연소재를 이용한 자연친화적인 연안 저질개선제 살포가 꼬막의 혈액학적 성상 몇 근육 글리코겐 함량에 미치는 영향에 대하여 알아보기 위하여 실내 실험을 실시하였다. 저질개선제를 단위면적($m^2$)당 0, 100, 300, 800g의 양을 살포 후 10일 동안 숙성시킨 꼬막을 수조에 수용하여 14일 동안 사육 실험한 결과 저질개선제를 단위면적($m^2$)당 800g 살포한 구에서 48시간 후에 1개체가 폐사한 것 이외에 심험종료까지 폐사가 일어나지 않아 자연소재로 구성된 저질개선제가 생물 자체에는 직접적인 독성을 나타내지 않는 것으로 판단된다. 꼬막 혈액의 전혈량, 헤마토크리트값, 헤모글로빈량에 있어서는 저질개선제 살포 농도별 큰 차이를 보이지 않았으나 혈액 글루코스량 및 근육 글리코겐량은 대조구와 비교하여 증가하는 경향이었다.

Geostatistical Analysis of Soil Enzyme Activities in Mud Flat of Korea

  • Spatial variations of physicochemical and microbiological variables were examined to understand spatial heterogeneity of those variables in intertidal flat. Variograms were constructed for understanding spatial autocorrelations of variables by a geostatistical analysis and spatial correlations between two variables were evaluated by applications of a Cross-Mantel test with a Monte Carlo procedure (with 999 permutations). Water content, organic matter content, pH, nitrate, sulfate, chloride, dissolved organic carbon (DOC), four extracellular enzyme activities (${\beta}-glucosidase$, N-acetyl-glucosaminidase, phosphatase, arylsulfatase), and bacterial diversity in soil were measured along a transect perpendicular to shore line. Most variables showed strong spatial autocorrelation or no spatial structure except for DOC. It was suggested that complex interactions between physicochemical and microbiological properties in sediment might controls DOC. Intertidal flat sediment appeared to be spatially heterogeneous. Bacterial diversity was found to be spatially correlated with enzyme activities. Chloride and sulfate were spatially correlated with microbial properties indicating that salinity in coastal environment would influence spatial distributions of decomposition capacities mediated by microorganisms. Overall, it was suggested that considerations on the spatial distributions of physicochemical and microbiological properties in intertidal flat sediment should be included when sampling scheme is designed for decomposition processes in intertidal flat sediment.

PXI를 이용한 LabVIEW기반 해양퇴적물의 음향특성 측정시스템 개발 (Implementation of Acoustic Properties Measurement System Based on LabVIEW Using PXI for Marine Sediment)

  • 기존의 자동음파전달속도 측정시스템을 이용하여 해양퇴적물의 음향특성을 측정하는 경우 최초도달신호시간의 결정에 발생하는 오류와 측정 절차의 번거로움 등의 몇 가지 문제점들이 존재한다. 이러한 문제점을 개선하기 위하여 PXI모듈을 이용한 LabVIEW기반의 측정 시스템을 개발하였다. 새로운 측정시스템을 검증하기 위해 동일한 시료와 실험환경에서 기존 시스템과 병행하여 측정하였다. 그 결과 1~2%의 음파전달속도 측정오차를 보였으며 음파감쇠 역시 기존 시스템과 유사한 결과 값을 도출하였다. 새로이 개발된 PXI(PCI eXtentions for Instrumentation)를 이용한 LabVIEW 기반 음향특성 측정시스템은 퇴적물의 음향특성을 보다 신속하고 효율적으로 측정할 수 있고 측정 자료뿐만 아니라 분석된 신호의 원시자료에 대해서도 지속적인 데이터베이스를 구축할 수 있다.

여수해만 주변해역 퇴적물의 물리적 및 음향학적 성질 (Physical and Acoustic Properties of Sediment around the Yeosu Sound)

  • 여수해만 주변해역 퇴적물의 물리적 성질 및 음향학적 성질을 밝히기 위해서 총 36개 시추시료에서 10cm 간격으로 퇴적물의 조직(입도), 음파전달속도 및 물리적 성질(공극율, 전밀도, 함수율, 전단응력)을 측정하였다. 연구지역을 광양만, 여수해만, 남해대륙붕의 세 지역으로 나누어 각 지역간의 물성과 조직의 상관관계를 비교 검토하였다. 비교 모델로는 Hamilton(1970)의 북태평양 대륙붕 및 대륙사면 퇴적물을 이용하였다. 본 연구지역에서의 조직과 물성의 분포도(50cm 깊이)를 보면 평균입도($6.5{\sim}8.1{\phi}$), 점토함량($35{\sim}50\%$), 공극율($66{\sim}80\%$), 속도($1540{\sim}1525m/s$), 전단응력($2{\sim}8kPa$), 밀도($1.60{\sim}l.40a/cm^3$) 등이고 각각의 특성이 광양만에서부터 남해 대륙붕 지역으로 갈수록 점진적인 변화를 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 이런 특징은 본 연구지역의 주요한 공급원인 섬진강에서 유입되는 퇴적물이 광양만 및 여수해만을 통하여 남해 대륙붕 지역으로 이동하는 경로와 관련이 있는 것을 시사한다. 각 물성간의 상관관계를 보면 여수해만 및 남해 대륙붕 지역이 광양만보다도 Hamilton(1970)이 제시한 모델에 더 유사한 경향을 보인다. 물성 분포로 보아 여수해만 지역 퇴적물의 성질은 광양만과 남해대륙붕 지역 퇴적물의 중간적인 단계에 해당되는 것으로 생각된다.

퇴적물 토양의 영양염류가 호소 수질에 미치는 잠재 요인 분석 (Analysis of Sediment Nutrients as Potential Sources of the Lake Water Quality)

  • The characteristics of Lake Cheonhoji water and sediment were investigated in oder to utilize these as fundamental materials for the management of lake water quality. The hydrographic properties of Lake Cheonhoji which are relatively low chance of nutrients loading from the watershed and a long retention time of lake water, lead to the probability of high lake productivity. It was also observed that lake water showed stratification during summer and complete mixing during fall, even though water depth was relatively shallow. The trophic state was eutrophic to hypertrophic from summer to late fall. The overall properties of the sediment were oligohumic, high ignition loss and high composition of NAIP and Resid.-P, which might serve as potential pollution sources of lake water quality. In laboratory scale experiments, it was observed that leaching potential of nutrients in the sediment was greatly dependant upon water temperature and dissolved oxygen. Finally, water pollution in Lake Cheonhoji was considered to be largely due to the adverse cycle of uncontrollable eutrophication, which resulted in the subsequent occurrence of dead algae and animal plankton, organic sedimentation, reduction of dissolved oxygen and nutrients leaching, which again reinforced the cycle of eutrophication in the lake.

조간대 저토 환경과 갈대의 생장 특성 (Sediment Properties and Growth of Phragmites australis in Mud Tidal Flat)

  • This study examined the relationship between Phragmites australis' growth and sediment properties at mud tidal flat of Donggum-ri, Gilsang-myeon, Gangwha-gun, Incheon city. Field survey was carried out from May, 2010 to October, 2010. Water content, soil texture, electric conductivity and water table depth for sediment, density, height, dry weight and flowering for P. australis were examined at several plots from the starting point (the coastal embankment) to the end point of the two populations. The result was as follows. Firstly, the water table increased along distance from the embankment at one line (N-line) but was similar at the other line (S-line) in a P. asustralis population. Water tables were higher out of than within a P. australis population at two populations. Secondary, in N-line, the height and dry weight of P. australis decreased along the distance from embankment but, in S-line, those were similar in its population. P. australis' growth was dependent on electric conductivity at lower layer (water table level) rather than upper one (the surface). Thirdly, density of P. australis changed during growing season and was similar in a population, except for the end point of patch. In summary, the growth and distribution of P. australis were dependent on salt content of tidal flat's sediment (water table level) and this was affected by fresh water of the inland.

Vertical distribution of suspended sediment concentration - A case study in Cu Lao Dung Coastal Areas (Vietnam)

  • The vertical distribution of suspended sediments in the mangrove-mud coast is complicated due to the characterization of cohesive sediment properties, and the influence of hydrodynamic factors. In this study, the time-evolution of suspended sediment concentration (SSC) in water depth is simulated by a one-dimensional model. The model applies in-situ data measured in October 2014 at the outer station in Cu Lao Dung coastal areas, Soc Trang, Vietnam. In the model, parameters which have influence on vertical distribution of SSC include the settling velocity Ws and the diffusion coefficient Kz. The settling velocity depends on the cohesive sediment properties, and the diffusion coefficient depends on the wave-current dynamics. The settling velocity is determined by the settling column experiment in the laboratory, which is a constant of 1.8 × 10-4 ms-1. Two hydrodynamic conditions are simulated including a strong current condition and a strong wave condition. Both simulations show that the SSC near the bottom is much higher than ones at the surface due to higher turbulence at the bottom. At the bottom layer, the SSC is strongly influenced by the current.

정체성 수역 퇴적물 재활용을 위한 고형화 평가 (The Evaluation on Solidification of Dredged Sediment for Recycle from Stagnant Water Area)

  • Sediment has been increasingly acknowledged as a carrier in water system and an available contamination. For this reason, dredging of sediment in reservoir to remediate water quality and secure storage capacity is conducted annually. However, disposal of numerous dredged sediment is necessary as a secondary problem. Currently, in Korea, dredged sediment is classified as waste to be reclamated or recycled into sandy soil, however, they are still in trouble because of spacial and environmental problem. Therefore, rather than simple disposal or reuse into sandy soil, it is necessary to research on method to manage main cause of pollution and increase the value as a resource. In this study, we intend to develop a recycle technology for numerous dredged sediment produced by dredging in deteriorated reservoirs using solidificator (stabilizer). To achieve this, we will consider utilization of dredged sediment and evaluation of use possibility as natural recycle by analysis the characteristics of soil-solidificator mixture in terms of physicochemical properties and the mixing ratio between sediment and solidificator.

광양만 미고결 퇴적물의 물리적 및 음향학적 성질 : 북태평양 대륙붕 및 사면 자료와의 비교 (Physical and Acoustic Properties for Unconsolidated Sediment in the Kwangyang Bay: In Comparison with the Continental Terrace Sediment in the North Pacific)

  • 광양만 미고결 퇴적물의 음향학적 특성을 밝히기 위해서 음파전달속도와 물리적 성질 및 퇴적물의 조직과의 상관관계를 알아보았다. 비교 모델은 Hamilton(1970)의 북태평양 대륙붕 및 사면 퇴적물로 하였다. 광양만 퇴적물(40cm 깊이 이하)의 음파전달속도는 평균 1.521km/s로서 북태평양 대륙붕 퇴적물 보다 약 0.02-0.04km/s 느리다. 광양만지역 퇴적물의 속도가 전반적으로 느린 이유는 모델로 사용한 Hamilton(1970)의 북태평양 대륙붕 및 대륙사면 지역과는 퇴적환경도 다른데다가 세립질 퇴적물의 함량이 더 많기 때문으로 생각된다. 원래의 퇴적환경으로 믿어지는 코어 40m 이하 층에서의 각 조직표준치 및 물리적 계수간의 상관 관계는 Hamilton(1970)의 자료와 비교적 잘 일치한다. 입도분석 결과 광양만의 표층퇴적물은 만의 북부 지역은 sandy mud가, 남부 지역에는 mud가 우세한 것으로 나타났다.

대천항 퇴적물의 유기물 및 중금속 분포 특성 (Distribution Characteristics of Organic Matter and Heavy Metal of Sediment in Daecheon Port)

  • In order to systematically and scientifically manage the organic and heavy metals against sediment at Daecheon Port, this study conducted particle composition, organic materials and heavy metals irradiation studies of sediments. Analysis of the grain size composition of sediments in the target study area showed the distribution characteristics of the mix of sand, silt and clay. That is, Station C (Stn. C) showed superior by fine-grained sediment, Station A and B (Stn. A and B) showed superior by coarse-grained sediment. The organic matter(COD, TOC, and IL) of Stn. C was appeared to be heavily polluted more than Stn. A and B. These data for the spatial properties in sediment showed that organic matter was related positively to the sediment silt-clay content. Also, in the case of heavy metals contamination in surface sediments, Stn. C was higher than Stn. A and B. Particularly, at the Stn. C, high organic matter concentration and C/N ratio value( >10) indicated that the sediment was composed highly of land-derived organic matter. From these results, it considered that the correlation analysis among to silt-clay, organic matter and heavy metal was found to have a good interrelationship.
