  • The security model in the previous network environment has a vulnerability in which resource access control for trusted users is not properly achieved using the Perimeter model based on trust. The Zero Trust is an absolute principle to assume that the users and devices accessing internal data have nothing to trust. Applying the Zero Trust principle is very successful in reducing the attack surface of an organization, and by using the Zero Trust, it is possible to minimize damage when an attack occurs by limiting the intrusion to one small area through segmentation. ZTNA is a major technology that enables organizations to implement Zero Trust security, and similar to Software Defined Boundary (SDP), ZTNA hides most of its infrastructure and services, establishing one-to-one encrypted connections between devices and the resources they need. In this study, we review the functions and requirements that become the principles of the ZTNA architecture, and also study the security requirements and additional considerations according to the construction and operation of the ZTNA solution.

  • Intrusion prevention systems (IPS) are important solution about solved problems for inside system security or outsider attacks. When introduce this system, first consideration item is secured rather than multiple function. Colored Petri Nets (CPNs) used that in order to secured verification for user authentication function of intrusion prevention system security model. CPNs is a graphical modeling language suitable for modeling distributed, concurrent, deterministic or non-deterministic systems with synchronous. Like these CPNs was expressed every possible state and occurrence graph. Secured of IPS security model was verified because expression every state using CPN tool and as a result of analyzing the occurrence graph was without a loop or interruption.

  • Revolution of Shale gas literally brings about great changes in many spheres. In the past most academic research had been focused on the influence and innovative change in term of economic perspective. But nowadays we should more concern about the security approach and perspective as its status of the future's core energy resources. Revolution of Shale gas has an great influence on the reshaping of global and regional alliance order. There are many international political implications as follows. Contribution of energy hegemony with leading U.S.; Acting as strategic leverage on the reshaping international order; Deepening competition among major states on the construction of energy security and so on. We'd better make a good solution and systematic policies which are preparing for the Shale gas's revolution period including on the understanding about the change on the global energy structure and making a national policy agenda of energy security issues and so on. The thesis like 'to get the energy resources is to get the hegemonic power in the world' will persist. The same holds good of Shale gas case. To meet the revolution of shale gas era, we have important tasks as like making an opportunity to develope not only regional but also international prosperity.

  • In an underlay cognitive simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT) network, communication from secondary user (SU) to secondary destination (SD) is accomplished with decode-and-forward (DF) relays. Multiple energy-constrained relays are assumed to harvest energy from SU via power splitting (PS) protocol and complete SU secure information transmission with beamforming. Hence, physical layer security (PLS) is investigated in cognitive SWIPT network. In order to interfere with eavesdropper and improve relay's energy efficiency, a destination-assisted jamming scheme is proposed. Namely, SD transmits artificial noise (AN) to interfere with eavesdropping, while jamming signal can also provide harvested energy to relays. Beamforming vector and power splitting ratio are jointly optimized with the objective of SU secrecy capacity maximization. We solve this non-convex optimization problem via a general two-stage procedure. Firstly, we obtain the optimal beamforming vector through semi-definite relaxation (SDR) method with a fixed power splitting ratio. Secondly, the best power splitting ratio can be obtained by one-dimensional search. We provide simulation results to verify the proposed solution. Simulation results show that the scheme achieves the maximum SD secrecy rate with appropriate selection of power splitting ratio, and the proposed scheme guarantees security in cognitive SWIPT networks.

  • There are many recommendation systems available to provide users with personalized services. Among them, the most frequently used in electronic commerce is 'collaborative filtering', which is a technique that provides a process of filtering customer information for the preparation of profiles and making recommendations of products that are expected to be preferred by other users, based on such information profiles. Collaborative filtering systems, however, have in their nature both technical issues such as sparsity, scalability, and transparency, as well as security issues in the collection of the information that becomes the basis for preparation of the profiles. In this paper, we suggest a movie recommendation system, based on the selection of optimal personal propensity variables and the utilization of a secure collaborating filtering system, in order to provide a solution to such sparsity and scalability issues. At the same time, we adopt 'push attack' principles to deal with the security vulnerability of collaborative filtering systems. Furthermore, we assess the system's applicability by using the open database MovieLens, and present a personal propensity framework for improvement in the performance of recommender systems. We successfully come up with a movie recommendation system through the selection of optimal personalization factors and the embodiment of a safe collaborative filtering system.

  • Along with the increase of the importance of information used in practice, adversaries tried to take valuable information in diverse ways. The simple and fundamental solution is to encrypt the whole data. Since the cost of encryption is increasing along with the size of data, the cost for securing the data is a burden to a system where the size of the data is not small. For the reason, in some applications where huge data are used for service, service providers do not use any encryption scheme for higher security, which could be a source of trouble. In this work, we introduce a new type of data securing technique named Trapdoor Digital Shredder(TDS) which disintegrates a data to multiple pieces to make it hard to re-construct the original data except the owner of the file who holds some secret keys. The main contribution of the technique is to increase the difficulty in obtaining private information even if an adversary obtains some shredded pieces. To prove the security of our scheme, we first introduce a new security model so called IND-CDA to examine the indistinguishability of shredded pieces. Then, we show that our scheme is secure under IND-CDA model, which implies that an adversary cannot distinguish a subset of shreds of a file from a set of random shreds.

  • This thesis analyzes Somali piracy as a non-traditional threat to the Sea Lines of Communication (SLOC) and international countermeasures to the piracy. In an era of globally interdependent economies, the protection of sea lines and freedom of navigation are prerequisites for the development of states. Since the post-Cold War began in the early 1990s, ocean piracy has emerged as a significant threat to international trade. For instance, in the Malacca Strait which carries 30 percent of the world's trade volume, losses from failed shipping, insurance, plus other subsequent damages were enormous. Until the mid-2000s, navies and coast guards from Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, together with the International Maritime Organization (IMO), conducted anti-piracy operations in the Strait of Malacca. The combined efforts of these three maritime states, through information sharing and with reinforced assets including warships and patrol aircrafts, have successfully made a dent to lower incidents of piracy. Likewise, the United Nations' authorization of multinational forces to operate in Somali waters has pushed interdiction efforts including patrol and escort flotilla support. This along with self-reinforced security measures has successfully helped lower piracy from 75 incidents in 2012 to 15 in 2013. As illustrated, Somali piracy is a direct security threat to the international community and the SLOC which calls for global peacekeeping as a countermeasure. Reconstructing the economy and society to support public safety and stability should be the priority solution. Emphasis should be placed on restoring public peace and jurisdiction for control of piracy as a primary countermeasure.
