  • Data hiding is one of protective methods that can authenticate the completeness of digital information and protect intelligent property rights and copyright through secret communications. In this paper, we propose a data hiding method using pixel-value modular operation that has a high capacity while maintaining a good visual quality. The proposed method can embed secret data on the every pixel of a cover image by modular operation. The experiment results demonstrate that the proposed method has a high capacity and good visual quality where the embedding capacity is 91,138 bytes, the PSNR is 47.94dB, and the Q index is 0.968.

  • There exists vast amount of information in the military, both at the personal level and at the national security level. Cryptographic algorithms can present a solution to managing this information safely. We suggest searchable encryption algorithms for efficiently managing military data, which should be treated securely in an online environment. Furthermore, we investigate algorithms that are effective for managing military data under various conditions.

  • Block truncation coding (BTC) is a recent technique used for compression of monochrome image data. The original algorithm of BTC implement to use the standard mean and the standard deviation. For data hiding, it is needed to modify bit-planes of an images. These modifications yields unacceptable quality of BTC images. Thus, we propose IODBTC (Improved Ordered dithering BTC) improving BTC. In this paper, we improve this problem. Experimental results show that the reconstructed secret messages are the same as the original secret messages, and that the proposed scheme exhibits a good BTC images compared to that of previous schemes.

  • A data hiding method based on least significant bit (LSB) substitution and multi-pixel differencing (MPD) is presented on the proposed method to improve the capacity of the hidden secret data and to provide an imperceptible visual quality. First, a sum of different values for four-pixel sub-block is calculated. The low value of the sum can be located on a smooth block and the high value is located on an edged block. The secret data are hidden into the cover image by LSB method in the smooth block, while MPD method in the edged block. The experimental results show that the proposed method has a higher capacity and maintains a good visual quality.

  • In this paper, data hiding algorithm using Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) and Arnold Transform is proposed. The secret data is scrambled using Arnold Transform to make it secure. Wavelet subbands of a cover image are obtained using DWT. The scrambled secret data is embedded into significant wavelet coefficients of subbands of a cover image. The proposed algorithm is robust to a variety of attacks like JPEG and JPEG2000 compression, image cropping and median filtering. Experimental results show that the PSNR of the composite image is 1.05 dB higher than the PSNR of existing algorithms and capacity is 25% higher than the capacity of existing algorithms.

  • A lot of data hiding schemes have been proposed to embed secret data in the plain cover images or compressed images of various formats, including JPEG, AMBTC, VQ, etc. In this paper, we propose a production process of mosaic images based on three regular images of coffee beans. A primary image is first mimicked by the process to produce a mosaic cover image. A two-layer steganography is applied to hide secret data in the mosaic image. Based on the low visual quality of the mosaic cover image, its PSNR value can be improved about 1.5 dB after embedding 3 bpp. This is achieved by leveraging the newly proposed polarized search mask and the concepts of strong embedding and weak embedding. Applying steganography to the mosaic cover images is a completely new idea and it is promising.

  • Industry 4.0 is continuous automation by applying the latest smart technologies to traditional manufacturing industries. It means that large-scale M2M (Machine-to-Machine) communication and IoT (Internet of Things) technologies are well integrated to build efficient production systems by analyzing and diagnosing various issues without human intervention. Edge computing is widely used for M2M services that handle real-time interactions between devices at industrial machinery tool sites. Here, secure data transmission is required while interacting. Thus, this paper focused on a method of creating and maintaining secret key and security tag used for message authentication between end-devices and edge-device.

  • Payment and security requirement are playing an increasingly critical role in RFID system, allegedly the core of the ubiquitous, especially in logistics. Therefore, security technology has been playing essential role gradually unlike the past when only the perception of equipment was considered important technology. The current encoding system allows the access only to the user who has the secret key. Many encoding algorithm has been studied to ensure the security of secret key. Security protocol is the most typical way to authorize appropriate user perception by using the data and secret key to proceed the encoding and transmit it to the system in order to confirm the user. However, RFID system which transmits more than dozens of data per second cannot be used if the algorithm and protocol of the existing wired system are used because the performance will degrade as a consequence. Security protocol needs to be designed in consideration of property of RFID and hardware. In this paper, a protocol was designed using SNEP(Sensor Network Encryption Protocol), the security protocol used for the sensor similar to RFID- not the current system used in wired environment- and ECC (Elliptic Curve Cryptography: oval curve encoding), the encoding algorithm.

  • The Maritime Cloud is a technology that enables the seamless exchange of information between several communication links in the maritime domain. Although research on The Maritime Cloud security is still at an early stage, furthering this knowledge is vital to securing the marine environment. In this paper, we propose a method for secure data transmission through The Maritime Cloud domain. The proposed technique, based on the "secret sharing" scheme, is delivered through specifically-dedicated geocasting software. Thus, only authorized vessels can restore the original information. The proposed method is safe from so-called "sniffing" and "man-in-the-middle" attacks.

  • In this paper we first propose a new cryptosystem based on our data hiding scheme (2,9,8) introduced in 2019 with high security, where encrypting and hiding are done at once, the ciphertext does not depend on the input image size as existing hybrid techniques of cryptography and steganography. We then exploit our automata approach presented in 2019 to design two algorithms for exact and approximate pattern matching on secret data encrypted by our cryptosystem. Theoretical analyses remark that these algorithms both have O(n) time complexity in the worst case, where for the approximate algorithm, we assume that it uses ⌈(1-ε)m)⌉ processors, where ε, m and n are the error of our string similarity measure and lengths of the pattern and secret data, respectively. In searchable encryption, our cryptosystem is used by users and our pattern matching algorithms are performed by cloud providers.
