선체냉각을 위한 해수분사노즐의 산포특성에 관한 실험 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Dispersion Characteristics of Seawater Injection Nozzle for Hull Cooling)

  • Infrared stealth is an important technology for naval ships. This technology helps improve the anti-detection performance and survivability of naval ships. In general, the infrared signature of naval ships are categorized into internal and external heat source. External signature are generated by ship surface heating by solar flux as well as the complicated heat transfer process with the surrounding weather condition. Modern naval ships are equipped with seawater injection nozzles on the outside for nuclear, biological and, chemical, and these nozzles are used to control external signature. Wide nozzle placement intervals and insufficient injection pressure, however, have reduced seawater dispersion area. To address this problem, nozzle installation standards must be established. In this study, an actual-scale experimental system was implemented to provide the evidence for nozzle installation standards in order to reduce the infrared signature of naval ships. In addition, the environmental conditions of the experiment were set up through computational fluid dynamics considering the ocean climate data and naval ship management conditions of South Korea. The dispersion distance was measured using a high-resolution thermography system. The flow rate, pipe pressure, and dispersion distance were analyzed, and the evidence for the installation of seawater injection nozzles and operation performance standards was suggested.

PE 선피복 파형강관의 부식 및 마모 특성 (Corrosion and Abrasion Characteristics of PE Sheet Laminated Corrugated Steel Pipe)

  • Feasibility of using PE sheet laminated CSP(Corrugated steel pipe) to sewers were tested via corrosion and abrasion tests for PE sheet laminated CSP; 1) corrosion test for PE film and PE coated plate, 2) corrosion test for joint of PE sheet laminated CSP, 3) corrosion test for outside of PE sheet laminated CSP, and 4) abrasion test for inside of PE sheet laminated CSP. The results for the corrosion and abrasion tests are as follows. 1. Results for corrosion tests on PE films and zinc coated steel plates that were coated with PE films show that the surfaces of both PE were not changed compared to those of original PE samples. Furthermore, PE films maintained strong adhesion on the steel plates even though they were exposed to sewage and seawater provided cutting planes of the steel plates were treated with molding. But, results for corrosion tests on the spots that were previously cut off by a knife and a cutting planes of the steel plates were treated without molding show that steel plates have been corroded if they were exposed to sewage and seawater. 2. Results for corrosion tests on joints of PE sheet laminated corrugated steel using sewage show that gathering rust was observed at cutting plane of PE sheet laminated corrugated steel after 180 days, but PE film was not flaked off. However, PE film at cutting plane was flaked off when PE sheet laminated corrugated steel was exposed to seawater. Furthermore, flaking process was severely progressed at lockseam points of which the surfaces were not smooth. 3. Results for laying PE sheet laminated corrugated steel under the ground show that the surface of untouched PE film was almost identical to that of original PE film. However, the spots that were previously cut off by a knife and a cutting plane of PE sheet laminated corrugated steel have flaked off. 4. As a result of abrasion tests conducted with PE sheet laminated corrugated steel and sand, brilliance and thickness of PE was not greatly changed under the severe abrasion conditions. Therefore, the durability of PE sheet laminated corrugated steel for abrasion was determined to be good.

  • While engine room arranging pipe which is used from the vessel, It measured the internal flow of 90 degree elbow which is used from the main condenser. Fluid flow in elbow of 90 degree is measured by PIV and Dewetron system. The Reynolds number adopts 50000 and experimental study of flow field in the elbow.

  • 자율운항선박 기술개발사업 중 2세부(자율운항선박 핵심 기관시스템 성능 모니터링 및 고장예측 진단 기술 개발) 과제는 자율운항선박의 추진 및 전력 생산을 담당하는 핵심 기관시스템의 운전 상태를 실시간 모니터링하여, 계측 데이터 기반의 고장 진단/예측을 수행하고 장애 발생 시 원격 지원체계를 통해 체계적/전문적 정비를 수행할 수 있도록 지원하는 기술이다. 자율운항선박은 선원이 없이 자율적으로 운항도 하지만, 핵심장비/기자재에 대해서도 실측 데이터를 기반으로 스스로 판단하여 고장여부에 대한 의사결정이 가능하여야 한다. 선박 기관시스템은 선박 운항의 안전과 정시 입·출항에 핵심이 되는 장비/기자재로써 자율운항선박 구현에 필요한 핵심 기술이다. 본 연구에서는 자율운항선박 핵심장비 중 보조기기 2종(Pump, Purifier), 배관(Seawater Pipe, Steam Pipe)의 성능 모니터링 및 고장예측/진단 소프트웨어를 개발하기 위한 연구를 수행한다.

해상송전철탑 구조물의 주기점검을 통한 경년열화 변화특성 (Aging Deterioration for Electric Power Transmission Tower on Offshore Through Periodic Inspections)

  • 해상송전철탑 구조물에 있어서 구조 및 재료 손상에 대해 주기적으로 안전점검을 실시하고, 그 결과를 이용한 수명관리(life management)의 시행은 적극 추천되는 일이다. 본 연구에서는 영흥도 시화호 내에 있는 총 6개의 해상송전철탑에 대해서 강재부재에 대해 3가지, 콘크리트 기초에 대해 5가지, 해수 중 강관파일 및 해수 자체에 대해 4가지 형태의 열화점검을 각각 수행하였다. 강재에 대한 점검 항목들은 외관조사, 부재두께, 도막상태 등에 대한 것이고, 콘크리트 기초에 있어서는 균열형상, 압축강도, 중성화깊이, 염화물 함유량 등에 대한 항목, 그리고 해중 강관파일에 있어서의 전위 및 양극조사에 따른 부식정도, 동영상 촬영 및 해수의 수질환경성 평가 등에 대한 항목이다. 이와 같은 정기적 열화점검은 연속 3년 동안 매년 10월경에 동일위치에 대해 평가하였다. 결과적으로 본 연구에서는 이러한 자료를 체계적으로 활용함으로써 해상송전철탑 안전성 유지관리에 유익하게 적용될 수 있는 새로운 열화지표를 개발하였다.

배관의 부식 상태 진단에 사용되는 ER 부식센서의 가속부식환경에서의 신뢰성 평가 (Reliability Evaluation of ER Type Corrosion Sensor for Monitoring Corrosion of Piping System Under Accelerated Corrosion Environment)

  • In this study, the reliability of a commercial ER-type corrosion sensor was evaluated under an accelerated corrosion environment to verify its suitability for application in monitoring of ship's seawater piping system. A closed-loop pump piping testbed was designed and constructed to compare the wall thickness reduction of the pipe and the response from the sensor. The sensor was attached inside the pipe near the outlet of the pump that was exposed to a 3.5% NaCl solution with or without copper accelerated acetic acid (CASS). The results demonstrated that the presence of CASS significantly increased the corrosivity of the solution as well as the thickness reduction of the pipe, as expected. On the other hand, the corrosion products formed by the solution with CASS were thicker compared with those without CASS. The sensor response to temperature variation was found to be a clear linear relationship for the solution without CASS but there was a non-linear relationship where CASS was present.

선박 스팀파이프용의 고내구성 도장 사양 개발 연구 (Development of the High-quality Coating System for the Steam Pipe of Ship)

  • For ships, heat resistant coating is applied on the aluminized steel pipe systems dealing with high temperature steam over $200^{\circ}C$. The coatings on these steam pipes should retain both heat resistance and anti-corrosion properties to provide long-term resistance against coating defects (rust, delamination and crack) under the harsh outdoor environment including repeated seawater wetting and condensation. Thus, it is important to improve the coating qualities and to reduce maintenance works for these steam pipe systems. In this study, five different commercial heat resistant coatings (A, B, C, D, E) were selected for evaluation. Various physical properties of these coatings were evaluated on the coatings applied on the aluminized steam pipes. FT-IR analysis was also employed to identify the factors contributing the degree of heat resistance and durability of each coating material. The results indicated that the heat resistance capacity of coatings increased with the increase of silicon content as well as the decrease of substituent content. Both products C and D showed the best coating qualifies, which can be standard coating systems for future steam pipe areas.

해저터널용 복합신소재 배수복합관 부재의 정적거동에 관한 실험적 연구 (An experimental study on the static behavior of advanced composite materials drainage pipe member for an undersea tunnel)

  • 해저터널용 복합신소재 배수관구조를 설계하기 위해서는 복합신소재 구조부재의 적층형태별 역학적 성질을 결정하는 것이 필수적이다. 복합신소재는 일반적으로 등방성 재료와 달리 치수효과가 매우 큰 것으로 알려져 있다. 본 연구에서는 복합신소재 부재의 적층형태별 인장시험을 상온($20^{\circ}C$)과 해수온도($0^{\circ}C$)에서 각각 수행하였다. 또한, 이론적 해석방법인 혼합물의 법칙과 탄성해법을 적용하여 재료의 역학적 성질을 추정하고 시험결과와 비교를 하였다. 해저터널 복합신소재 배수관 구조부재를 설계할 때 사용되는 역학적 성질의 값은 상온에서 얻어진 값을 보정하여 적용하여야 된다. 이러한 자료는 향후 해저터널용 복합신소재 배수관구조의 설계의 기초자료로 제공하고자 하였다.

Effect of RuCl3 Concentration on the Lifespan of Insoluble Anode for Cathodic Protection on PCCP

  • Prestressed Concrete steel Cylinder Pipe (PCCP) is extensively used as seawater pipes for cooling in nuclear power plants. The internal surface of PCCP is exposed to seawater, while the external surface is in direct contact with underground soil. Therefore, materials and strategies that would reduce the corrosion of its cylindrical steel body and external steel wiring need to be employed. To prevent against the failure of PCCP, operators provided a cathodic protection to the pre-stressing wires. The efficiency of cathodic protection is governed by the anodic performance of the system. A mixed metal oxide (MMO) electrode was developed to meet criteria of low over potential and high corrosion resistance. Increasing coating cycles improved the performance of the anode, but cycling should be minimized due to high materials cost. In this work, the effects of $RuCl_3$ concentration on the electrochemical properties and lifespan of MMO anode were evaluated. With increasing concentration of $RuCl_3$, the oxygen evolution potential lowered and polarization resistance were also reduced but demonstrated an increase in passive current density and oxygen evolution current density. To improve the electrochemical properties of the MMO anode, $RuCl_3$ concentration was increased. As a result, the number of required coating cycles were reduced substantially and the MMO anode achieved an excellent lifespan of over 80 years. Thus, we concluded that the relationship between $RuCl_3$ concentration and coating cycles can be summarized as follows: No. of coating cycle = 0.48*[$RuCl_3$ concentration, $M]^{-0.97}$.
