As a part of HMS(Human-Machine System), the car is very important thing in common life. It is also a significant part to study on the controllers of car that is intentively related with all sensibilities during driving. There are lots of controllers on seating buck of the car. However, there are few study on the sensibility analysis of them. Most of all, the foot controller could be easily overlooked because it could be invisible. This study was based on relationship that the controllers fitted to the driving posture in the drivers' sensibility difference of two transmission modes, automatic and manual transmission. The results show the driver's preference driving posture and sensibility in two kinds of transmission cars. Consequently, it should be designed the seating buck for two different types respectively to be taken comfort driving posture and improve the safety for drivers. Also, it could reduce the fatigue and discomfort in the task of driving. The design of the controllers strongly effects on the drivers' response time. hereby this study was accessed to the sensibility of Korean with analyzing the relationship, quantitative data, and sensibility difference between two kinds of transmission cars.

This paper introduces a process of the development of a vibration test dummy for the posture of inclined seating. Experimental devices was invented to measure apparent mass curves on the contact point of the hip and the back of a seated human body. During the excitation of a rigid seat secured to a hydraulic exciter, force and acceleration signals were measured on the contact points to determine the apparent mass. In order to describe nonlinear characteristics of a human body, seven levels of Gaussian random signal were used for the base excitation. The modeling of the human body will be performed using measured apparent mass curves. The modeling will be done by June and the prototype of the test dummy will be invented in the following six months.

In this paper, the driver seat comfort of eight automobiles was studied. The joint angles and anthropometric data of eleven subjects sitting on the seating buck were investigated using the instrument devices such as scale, goniometer, vernier calipers, protractor, Martin set. The joint angles of the most comfort posture were found by experiment and compared with previous studies. The anthropometric data of Korean(1992 year surveys) and American(1970∼1974 year) were applied to evaluate the driver seat layout of Korean automobile. The joint angles of the most comfort posture for eleven subjects were obtained with experimental results. The joint angles were agreed with reference angles. The driver seat layout was not suited to seat length and acceleratorseatpan forward distance in 5 percentiles female, pedal separation and seatpan-roof height in 95 percentiles male. Korean automobiles were not suited to seatpan length and steering wheelseatpan clearance, floor-roof height for American 95 percentiles male. The driver anthropometric dimensions were more suitable to middle size than small size automobiles.

The safety and comfort of car seats wee studied by utilization of engineering analysis/ experiment and human engineering data. As important factors of the static seating comfort, static spring constant, body pressure distribution, driving posture were discussed. In connection with the dynamic seating comfort, vibrational characteristics of domestic car seats(natural frequencies, damping, frequency spectrum, transmission ratio)were measured and discussed. Finally, the safety of the seat was analyzed and evaluated through calculation and experiments.
Dynamic characteristics of seated human body were investigated by measuring apparent masses of eight different seating subjects exposed to vertical vibration. Two types of vibration signals - one is random signals over 1 to 30Hz having flat spectral density and the other is signals measured on seat rail in passenger car under driving conditions - were employed. It was found that the apparent masses are highly dependent on vibration level rather than type of the vibration signals. Based on the apparent mass measurements, a mathematical model of the human body in seating posture was developed by using genetic algorithm. Three-degree-of-freedom model was satisfactory in describing apparent mass of seated human body.

This paper presents a smart seat for correction of driver posture while driving. We introduce good postures with seat height, seat angle, head height, back of knees, distances of foot pedals, tilt of seat, etc. There have been some studies on correction of good posture while driving, effects of driving environment on driver's posture, sitting strategies based on seating pressure distribution, estimation of driver's standard postures, and others. However, there are a few studies on guide of good postures while driving for problem of driver's posture using machine leaning. Therefore, we suggest a smart seat for correction of driver's posture based on machine leaning, 1) developed the system to get postures by 10 piezoelectric effect element, 2) collect piezoelectric values from 37 drivers and 28 types of cars, 3) suggest 4 types of good postures while driving, 4) analyze test postures by kNN. As the results, we can guide good postures for bad or problems of postures while driving.
With the advance of autonomous vehicle technology various sitting posture is possible like relax position (inclined seating posture). Parametric study was done with MADYMO, a mutibody dynamics solver, to investigate the effect of sitting posture in different frontal crash modes, full frontal, 40% offset, and angled rigid barrier crash as well as various impact speeds. Hybrid III 50th male and 5th female dummies were used to figure out the difference induced by occupant weight and dimension. Restraint system parameters complying to current safety protocols like NCAP are studied if they still work effectively in relax position which is feasible with autonomous vehicles.
Although body pressure distribution is sensitive to movements and is relatively simple to measure even in small space, there are few researches involving applications to driver's posture and its change. The main objective in this study is the application of body pressure distribution measurements for the prediction of the driver's posture and its change. This requires quantitative analyses of the dynamic body pressure distribution, which is the change of body pressure distribution with time. The experiment involved 16 male subjects who drove for 45 minutes in a seating buck. Measurement time, stature group, and lumbar support prominence were selected as independent variables, with subjective ratings of driver's discomfort, body posture data of hip, torso. knee angle, and body pressure data variables as dependent variables. The body pressure change variables and subjective ratings were found to increase as the measurement time increased and body pressure ratio variables reflected the torso angle. From the results and analysis of the body posture data and subjective rating results, it was predicted that the seats and the design of the lumbar supports used in the experiment was not fit for tall subjects, which could also be confirmed through the body pressure distribution data.
Pressure ulcers are serious complications of tissue damage that can develop in patients with diminished pain sensation and diminished mobility. Pressure ulcers can result in irreversible tissue damage caused by ischemia resulting from external loading. There are many intrinsic and extrinsic contributors to the problem, including interface tissue pressure, shear, temperature, moisture, hygiene, nutrition, tissue tolerance, sensory and motor dysfunction, disease and infection, posture, and body support systems. The purposes of this study were to investigate the relationship between buttock interface pressure and seating position, wheelchair propulsion speed. Seated-interface pressure was measured using the Force Sensing Array pressure mapping system. Twenty subjects propelled wheelchair handrim on a motor-driven treadmill at different velocities (40, 60, 80 m/min) and seating position used recline ($100^{\circ}$, $110^{\circ}$, $120^{\circ}$) with a wheelchair simulator. Interface pressure consists of average (mean of the pressure sensor values) and maximum pressure (highest individual sensor value). The results of this study were as follows; No significant correlation in maximum/average pressure was found between a static position and a 40 m/min wheelchair propulsion (p>.05). However, a significant increase in maximum/average pressure were identified between conditions of a static position and 60 m/min, and 80 m/min wheelchair propulsion (p<.05). No significant correlation in maximum pressure were found between a $90^{\circ}$ recline (neutral position) and a $100^{\circ}$, $110^{\circ}$, or $120^{\circ}$ recline of the wheelchair back (p>.05). No significant difference in average pressure was found between conditions of a $90^{\circ}$ recline and both a $100^{\circ}$ and $110^{\circ}$ recline of wheelchair back. However, a significant reduction in average pressure was identified between conditions of a $90^{\circ}$ and $120^{\circ}$ recline of wheelchair back (p<.05). This study has shown some interesting results that reclining the seat by $120^{\circ}$ reduced average interface pressure, including the reduction or prevention in edema. And interface pressure was greater during dynamic wheelchair propulsion compared with static seating. Therefore, the optimal seating position and seating system ought to provide postural control and pressure relief. We need an education on optimal seating position and a suitable propulsion speeds for wheelchair users.
