The purpose of this study is to seek how to effectively acquire a full-text using LHI(Loca1 Holdings Information) when we search bibliographic DB. For this study, the pre-investigation of LHI within Online and CD-ROM DB was made using local and overseas literature. The questionary survey was made of librarians and users who have used CD-ROM. The finding of this study is that LHI is not very widely used in libraries, thus more study on ,LHI within Online and CD-ROM DB is required to get high quality information service.

In this paper, we consider an optimal allocation of constant service efforts in queueing network to maximize the system throughput. For this purpose, using the perturbation analysis, we apply a stochastic optimization algorithm to two types of queueing systems. Our simulation results indicate that the estimates obtained from a stochastic optimization algorithm for a two-tandem queuing network are very accurate, and those for closed loop manufacturing system are a little apart from the known optimal allocation. We find that as simulation time increases for obtaining a new gradient (performance measure with respect to decision variables) by perturbation algorithm, the estimates tend to be more stable. Thus, we consider that it would be more desirable to have more accurate sensitivity of performance measure by enlarging simulation time rather than more searching steps with less accurate sensitivity. We realize that more experiments on various types of systems are needed to identify such a relationship with regards to stopping rule, the size of moving step, and updating period for sensitivity.

Recently, automobile industry expands from mechatronics area through intelligent information area, and the telematics technology is one of the greatest developing points. The telematics is utilizing the on-board-unit of vehicle's communication system, and it provides necessary information and value-added service to vehicles as well as drivers. Most of the telematics offers the solution of searching a route or generates an optimal path. This paper investigates telematics with the logistics point of view, such as freight location tracking, vehicle emergency information, etc. The telematics is a core technology of automobile industry, and it becomes new business paradigm of IP(information provider). Especially, ETA(estimated arrival time) of freight and distribution tracing information are critical issues in the logistics industry. The successful integration with telematics is introduced in the paper.

The purpose of this research is to study the efficiency of the Internet market, not provided to consumers by the existing traditional market. This research examines whether consumers properly understand the efficiency of the Internet market. The result from consumers perception on the efficiencies in the two market are as follows. First, consumers perceived the traditional market as having more product alternatives compared to the Internet market. Second, consumers perceived that the Internet market was more efficient in price dispersion and price change Third, the Internet market was considered more efficient in searching and travel time, and in the search cost. Finally, the traditional market was considered as a better provider of the information about product function, feature, reality, usage and service compared to the Internet market. On the contrary, the Internet market turned out to be more effective in providing product information, price information and trading information compared to the traditional market. Therefore consumers perceived the traditional market of having more information.

This study is about implementing an job matching web service system based on the Job seeker's company assessment model proposed by the researchers. Basically, the Job seekers' company assessment model is based on the concept that each job seeker can evaluate the recruitment company candidates using job seekers's own major consideration factors. Using the implemented information system, each job seeker's main considerations in job searching process are evaluated and stored and compared to those of other job seekers' or groups' characterized by sex, job experience residential area and etc. by finding out and listing up the companies in the order of the preference of job seeker own or belonging groups, job seekers can be helped to find suitable companies which fit well to themselves.

As important ecological systems, wetlands contribute a wide array of biological, social. and economic benefits. However, wetlands are lost until the present, primarily due to human induced land-use conversions. Society is placing demands for the efficient preservation and management on Woopo wetland as the first largest wetland in Korea. GIS(Geographic Information System) is a rapidly developing technology for handling, analyzing, and modeling ecological information on wetlands. In the paper, Woopo Wetland Management System has been developed by using Desktop GIS and Internet GIS technology to embrace major functions: information query and browsing, spatial searching on map, and rule-based analysis. As a menu-driven system, these functions are designed to be implemented through customized menus. The developed system is expected to be used for the effective publicity service as well as the professional management of Woopo.

For advanced civil engineering structures a service life of hundred up to hundred fifty and even two hundred years is sometimes required. The prediction of the performance of concrete structures over such a long period requires accurate and reliable predictive models. Most of the presently used, mostly experience based models don't have the quality and reliability that is required for reliable long-term predictions. The models designers are searching for should be based on an accurate description of the relevant degradation mechanisms. The starting point of such models is a realistic description of the microstructure of the concrete. In this presentation the need and the role of fundamental microstructural models for predicting the performance of concrete structures will be presented. An example will be given of a microstructural model with a proven potential for long-term predictions. Besides this also the role of models in general, i.e. in the whole design and execution process of concrete structures, will be dealt with. Finally recent trends in concrete research will be presented, like the research on self-healing cement-bases systems.

This study was investigated for searching a cause of flashover failure of polymer insulator and preparing countermeasures. Hydrophobicity, microstructure and chemical structural change of polymer weathershed were studied by polymer characterization methods. In addition, the electrical properties such as power frequency dry flashover voltage/impulse voltage tests, contamination characteristics were carried out. The hydrophobicity of polymer weathershed was decreased significantly and cracks were observed on the surface. Also, the electrical characteristics did not satisfy the KEPCO specification. The failed polymer insulators showed the more leakage current than 4 years service-aged ones. From the result, it can be concluded that the flashover failure of polymer insulator was attributed to the surface aging and severe contamination.

UDDI (Universal Discovery Description and Integration) Registry is used for Web Services registration and search. UDDI offers the search result to the keyword-based query. UDDI supports WSDL registration but it does not supports WSDL search. So it is required that contents based search and ranking using name and description in UDDI registration information and WSDL. This paper proposes a retrieval engine considering contents of services registered in the UDDI and WSDL. It uses Vector Space Model for similarity comparison between contents of those. UDDI registry information hierarchy and WSDL hierarchy are considered during searching process. This engine suppports two discovery methods. One is Keyword-based search and the other is template-based search supporting ranking for user's query. Template-based search offers how service interfaces correspond to the query for WSDL documents. Proposed retrieval engine can offer search result more accurately than one which UDDI offers and it can retrieve WSDL which is registered in UDDI in detail.

보이스 포탈(Voice Portal) 서비스란 알고자 하는 정보를 음성으로 전화를 통해 명령하면 원하는 정보를 음성으로 서비스이다. 본 논문에서 구현된 시스템은 원하는 주식 정보를 음성으로 명령하면 Voice XML 서버가 찾고자 하는 주식 종목을 검색하여 다시 음성으로 알려주는 시스템이다. 인증의 절차를 수행하는 SMS(Short Message Service) 서버 모듈, PSTN 망과 Database 서버사이의 인터페이스를 제공하는 CTI(Computer Telephony Integration) 모듈, CTI 서버와 WWW(World Wide Web) 사이의 Voice XML 모듈, 정보를 검색하기 위한 Searching 모듈들이 필요하다. 음성 인식 기술을 기반으로 한 CTI 모듈 설계를 구현하였다. 또한 인정 방식으로 Random한 일회용 패스워드를 기반으로 한 SML 인증을 택하므로 더욱 더 안정된 서비스 제공을 목적으로 하였다.
