  • Efficient video data storage and search techniques are essential for DVR-based security systems. We have designed appropriate data structures and search techniques for efficient image storage and search, in this study. The date and time can be saved and searched as a folder form. The overall system is designed for MPEG4 CODEC. It can handle variable sizes of frames (100bytes $^{\sim}$ 6Kbytes) produced by MPEG4 CODEC without errors. We also have developed image transmission techniques through inter-net networking.

  • With the prevalence of computers in modern organizations, simulation is receiving more atention as an effectvie decision -making tool. Simualtion is a computer-based numerical technique which uses mathmatical and logical models to approximate the behaviror of a real-world system. However, iptimization of synamic stochastic systems often defy analytical and algorithmic soluions. Although a simulation approach is often free fo the liminting assumption s of mathematical modeling, cost and time consiceration s make simulation the henayst's last resort. Therefore, whenever possible, analytical and algorithmica solutions are favored over simulation. This paper discussed the issues and procedrues for using simulation as a tool for optimization of stochastic complex systems that are dmodeled by computer simulation . Its emphasis is mostly on issues that are speicific to simulation optimization instead of consentrating on the general optimizationand mathematical programming techniques . A simulation optimization problem is an optimization problem where the objective function. constraints, or both are response that can only be evauated by computer simulation. As such, these functions are only implicit functions of decision parameters of the system, and often stochastic in nature as well. Most of optimization techniqes can be classified as single or multiple-resoneses techniques . The optimization of single response functins has been researched extensively and consists of many techniques. In the single response category, these strategies are gradient based search techniques, stochastic approximate techniques, response surface techniques, and heuristic search techniques. In the multiple response categroy, there are basically five distinct strategies for treating the responses and finding the optimum solution. These strategies are graphica techniqes, direct search techniques, constrained optimization techniques, unconstrained optimization techniques, and goal programming techniques. The choice of theprocedreu to employ in simulation optimization depends on the analyst and the problem to be solved. For many practival and industrial optimization problems where some or all of the system components are stochastic, the objective functions cannot be represented analytically. Therefore, modeling by computersimulation is one of the most effective means of studying such complex systems. In this paper, after discussion of simulation optmization techniques, the applications of above techniques will be presented in the modeling process of many flexible manufacturing systems.

  • During minimally invasive liver resection (MILR), the Pringle maneuver aims to minimize blood loss and provide a clear operative field, thereby identifying intrahepatic structures and facilitating safe parenchymal transection. Several techniques for using the Pringle maneuver in MILR have been described. This review presents various methods which have been reported in the literature. A systematic literature search used the MEDLINE/PubMed database from its earliest records to August 2022 using appropriate search headings and keywords. The primary outcome was identifying techniques for performing hepatic inflow occlusion during laparoscopic/robotic hepatectomy. Inclusion criteria consisted of publications describing technical steps to obtain hepatic inflow occlusion during minimally invasive hepatectomy. A literature search identified 23 relevant publications, and the full texts were examined. The techniques described in the reports can be broadly categorized into three groups: (1) the Rummel-tourniquet technique, (2) vascular clamp use, and (3) the Huang Loop technique. Various techniques have been used in MILR to achieve inflow confinement successfully. The authors prefer the modified Huang Loop technique because it is inexpensive, reliable, and quick to apply or release. Hepatobiliary surgeons are advised to familiarize themselves with these MILR techniques, which have proven effective and safe inflow occlusion.

Methods : I referred to the domestic and foreign books about osteopathy and chiropractic. In order to investigate domestic dissertations, I searched 4 Korean medical databases and 4 Korean medical journals of osteopathy. Search terms used were osteopathy, osteopathic, fascia, proprioreceptor, mechanoreceptor, muscle spindle, golgi tendon organ, osteopathic manipulation technics. And I classified all the searched studies into principle and region and etc. In order to investigate foreign dissertations, I search 'NCBI pubmed'. Search terms used were osteopathy, osteopathic technique, osteopathic manipulative technique. Results : 1. Osteopathy do not regard the systems which compose the human body in individual territory, but regard whole. It is diagnosis, prevention and medicine which treats 2. Osteopathic manipulation techniques are classified into direct techniques, indirect techniques, and compound techniques. 3. Osteopathic manipulation techniques are classified into fascia, muscle, ligament-joint in applied region. 4. I could search clinical cases in domestic and foreign study. I found cases about myofascial release technique(MFR), postisometric relaxation(PIR), proprioceptive neuromuscular fascilitation(PNF), muscle energy technique(MET), joint mobilization in domestic studies, and strain-counterstrain technique(SCS), MET, AK in foreign studies. Conclusions : Osteopathic manipulation techniques can be used in diagnosis and treatment of meridian muscle theory, because osteopathy and the oriental medicine have many similarities in theoretical background. So osteopathic manipulation technique can be useful in oriental medicine treatment techniques.

  • Recently, R&D(Research and Development) is processing actively on range search in the road network environments. However, the existing representative range search techniques have shortcomings in that the greater the number of POI's, the more increased storage space or the more increased search time due to inefficient search process. Accordingly, In this paper, we proposed a range search technique using QRMP(QR-tree using Middle Point) to solve the problems of conventional range search techniques. In addition, we made a formula to obtain the total size of the storage space for QRMP and proved the excellence of the range search technique proposed in this paper through the experiment using actual road networks and POI data.

  • Existing techniques for string similarity search first generate a set of candidate strings and then verify the candidates. The efficiency of string similarity search is highly dependent on candidate generation methods. State of the art techniques select fixed length q-grams from a query string and generate candidates using inverted lists of the selected q-grams. In this paper, we propose a technique to generate candidates using variable length grams of a query string and develop a dynamic programming algorithm that selects an optimal combination of variable length grams from a query string. Experimental results show that the proposed technique improves the performance of string similarity search compared with the existing techniques.

  • This paper proposes neighborhood reduction techniques in local search of the customer decomposition subproblem in the Multi Depots Vehicle Routing Problem with Time Windows (MDVRPTW) by using geospatial relation among depots and customers. The neighborhood of the customer decomposition subproblem can be simply and well defined but it should include excessively bad solution candidates. Our techniques find such candidates by using information of the problem domain, geographical relation. We use our techniques in Tabu Search and evaluate the effectiveness in computer experiment.

  • As witnessed in September 11 attacks, air terrorism is often the most effective means to achieve their goals, and thereby requires a sophisticated level of security measures. Moreover, considering the nature of air transportation, the prevention of air terrorism demands a wide range of international cooperation and joint efforts such as timely sharing of information related to air terrorism (such as latest terror techniques and list of terrorists) between nations, International Air Transport Association (IATA) and International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) As most air terrorism can be effectively prevented through security and search activities in airports, this study has focused on researching security measures and issues in major airports around the world, along with the potential measures to improve them. To achieve this effect, this paper offers solutions to preventing air terrorism by exploring appropriate responses to various type of air terrorism, deployment of advanced security and search equipment, techniques to identify terrorists, R&D on equipments to physically take down terrorists and systematic improvements on airport security search process.

  • Scientists planning research that involves the use of animals are required to examine the possibilities for replacement, reduction, or refinement (the Three Rs), and their protocol must be reviewed by the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee. Good scientific practice involving appropriate search techniques on the available Three Rs resources is essential for both ethical and scientific reasons. Appropriate experimental design and statistical analysis techniques are particularly necessary for research involving the use of animals, because this can improve animal welfare and scientific outcomes, as well as saving animal lives. There are a number of resources to help researchers improve their search techniques, experimental design strategies, and their reporting of research involving the use of animals. However, there is little specific information or resources on the Three Rs alternatives that is readily available in the Korean language. This paper outlines the common errors made by submitting researchers that have been repeatedly observed during the ethical review of experimental protocols over the last ten years, and provides information on the Korean resources available to promote good scientific practice. This could help to bridge the gap between Korean scientists and animal welfare advocates assisting scientists to improve ethical considerations and conduct responsible research.
