Optimum Injection Molding Condition Search With Process Monitoring System (공정 모니터링 시스템을 이용한 최적 사출 조건 설정)

  • Optimum injection molding condition for a box mold was searched by the Response Surface Analysis(RSA) with the aid of process monitoring system(PMS). Process variables on the control panel of the injection molding machine such as barrel temperatures, screw speed profile, holding pressures, etc. cannot guarantee the uniformity of the material variables directly related with the state of the product in the mold cavity. In order to make sure the state of the resin in the cavity, pressures and temperatures in the cavity, runner and nozzle were monitored in the experiment with the PMS. To accomplish the consistency of the molding process, dependent variables such as the switchover point and holding time were searched with the PMS. With a proper objective function about deflection of the box-type product, the optimum injection molding condition was obtained.

  • The decision tree approach is most useful in classification problems and to divide the search space into rectangular regions. Decision tree algorithms are used extensively for data mining in many domains such as retail target marketing, fraud dection, data reduction and variable screening, category merging, etc. CHAID(Chi-square Automatic Interaction Detector) uses the chi-squired statistic to determine splitting and is an exploratory method used to study the relationship between a dependent variable and a series of predictor variables. In this paper we propose CHAID algorithm by cube-based proportional sampling and explore CHAID algorithm in view of accuracy and speed by the number of variables.

  • Flash memory becomes more important for its fast access speed, low-power, shock resistance and nonvolatile storage. But its native restrictions that have limited 1ifetime, inability of update in place, different size unit of read/write and erase operations need to managed by FTL(Flash Translation Layer). FTL has to control the wear-leveling, address mapping, bad block management of flash memory. In this paper, we focuses on the fast access to address mapping table and proposed the way of faster valid page search in the flash memory using the VPLT(Valid Page Lookup Table). This method is expected to decrease the frequency of access of flash memory that have an significant effect on performance of read and block-transfer operations. For the validations, we implemented the FTL based on Windows CE platform and obtained an improved result.

  • PABAP (Palindrome Analysis by BLAST Program) is an analysis system that identifies palindromic sequences from a large genome sequence up to several megabases long. It uses NCBI BLAST as a searching engine, and data processing such as alignment filtration and detection of inverted repeats which satisfy user-defined parameters is performed by manipulating data after populating into a MySQL database. PABAP outperforms publicly available palindrome search program in that it can detect large palindrome with internal spacer at a faster speed from bacterial genomes. It is a standalone application and is freely available for noncommercial users.

Blind linear/nonlinear equalization for heavy noise-corrupted channels

  • In this paper, blind equalization using a modified Fuzzy C-Means algorithm with Gaussian Weights (MFCM_GW) is attempted to the heavy noise-corrupted channels. The proposed algorithm can deal with both of linear and nonlinear channels, because it searches for the optimal channel output states of a channel instead of estimating the channel parameters in a direct manner. In contrast to the common Euclidean distance in Fuzzy C-Means (FCM), the use of the Bayesian likelihood fitness function and the Gaussian weighted partition matrix is exploited in its search procedure. The selected channel states by MFCM_GW are always close to the optimal set of a channel even the additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) is heavily corrupted in it. Simulation studies demonstrate that the performance of the proposed method is relatively superior to existing genetic algorithm (GA) and conventional FCM based methods in terms of accuracy and speed.

  • The conventional PID controller has been widely used in many industrial control system because engineers can easily understand how to deal with three parameters of PID controller. The conventional tuning methods, however, have a tendency depend on experience and experiment. In this paper a real-coded genetic algorithm is used to search for the optimal parameters of PID controller for marine diesel engine. Simulation results compared with conventional PID controller tuning methods show the effectiveness and good performance of proposed scheme.

  • 본 논문에서는 최근접점 탐색 알고리즘(Nearest Neighbor Searching)을 사용하여 고차원에서 질의점을 효과적으로 찾기 위한 방안을 제안한다. 최근접점 탐색에서 정확도와 실행속도는 반비례 관계를 가지며 기존에 제안된 최근접점 탐색 알고리즘의 경우, 차원이 증가할수록 탐색 시간이 기하급수적으로 증가하게 되어 고차원에서 질의점을 탐색할 경우 실행시간이 현저하게 길어진다. 최근접점 탐색을 실세계에서 적용할 경우 정확도도 중요하지만 실행 속도 또한 중요하다. 이 점을 감안하여 본 논문에서는 고차원 데이터를 저차원으로 압축하여 질의점을 탐색하고 압축 이전과 이후의 결과를 비교한 후, 이를 통해 정확성과 실행속도의 관계를 분석한다. 본 논문에서는 제안한 차원 압축을 이용할 경우 정확성이 중요한 요소가 아닌 탐색에서 상당한 실행속도가 개선될 것으로 기대된다.

  • This paper presetns an adaptive critic self-learning control system with cerebellar model articulation controller (CMAC)-based decoder integrated with the associative search element (ASE) and adatpive critic element(ACE)- based scheme. The tast of the system is to balance a pole that is hinged to a movable cart by applying forces to the cart's base. The problem is that error feedback information is limited. This problem can be sloved when some adaptive control devices are involved. The ASE incorporates prediction information for reinforrcement from a critic to produce evaluative information for the plant. The CMAC-based decoder interprets one state to a set of patways into the ASE/ACE. These signals correspond to te current state and its possible preceding action states. The CMAC's information interpolation improves the learning speed. And design inverted pendulum hardware system to show control capability with neural network.

Application of Davidenko's Method to Rigorous Analysis of Leaky Modes in Circular Dielectric Rod Waveguides

  • Numerical solutions to complex characteristic equations are quite often required to solve electromagnetic wave problems. In general, two traditional complex root search algorithms, the Newton-Raphson method and the Muller method, are used to produce such solutions. However, when utilizing these two methods, the choice of the initial iteration value is very sensitive, otherwise, the iteration can fail to converge into a solution. Thus, as an alternative approach, where the selection of the initial iteration value is more relaxed and the computation speed is high, Davidenko's method is used to determine accurate complex propagation constants for leaky circular symmetric modes in circular dielectric rod waveguides. Based on a precise determination of the complex propagation constants, the leaky mode characteristics of several lower-order circular symmetric modes are then numerically analyzed. In addition, no modification of the characteristic equation is required for the application of Davidenko's method.
