A Study on the H.263 Encoder using Integer DCT (정수 DCT를 이용한 H.263 부호기에 관한 연구)

  • This paper is studied the high speed processing moving picture encodec to compress and encode a moving picture by real time. This is used the new motion vector search algorithm with smallest search point in H.263 encodec, and is applied the integer DCT for the encodec by converting a moving picture. The integer DCT behaves DCT by the addition operation of the integer using WHT and a integer lifting than conventional DCT that needs the multiplication operation of a floating point number. Therefore, the integer DCT can reduce the operation amount than basis DCT with having an equal PSNR because the multiplication operation of a floating point number does not need.

  • The partial distortion elimination (PDE) scheme is used to decrease the sum of absolute difference (SAD) computational complexity, since the SAD calculation has been taken much potion of the video compression. In motion estimation (ME) based on PDE, it is ideal that the initial value of SAD in summing performance has large value. The traditional scan order methods have many operation time and high operational complexity because these adopted the division or multiplication. In this paper, we introduce the new scan order and search order by using only adder. We define the average value which is called to rough average value (RAVR). Which is to reduce the computational complexity and increase the operational speed and then we can obtain the improvement of SAD performance. And also this RAVR is used to decide the search order sequence, since the difference RAVR between the current block and candidate block is small then this candidate block has high probability to suitable candidate. Thus, our proposed algorithm combines above two main concepts and suffers the improving SAD performance and the easy hardware implementation methods.

  • The conventional PID controller has been widely used in many industrial control systems although modern control theory has been remarkably developed recently. Because engineer can easily understand how to deal with the PID controller which consists of three parameters. This PID control method, however. has a tendency to depend on experience. Genetic Algorithm can search the control parameters according to systematic procedure in a selected plant. In this paper the real coded genetic algorithm is used to search proper values of the PID controller parameters for marine diesel engine. Simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed scheme.

  • The typical hydraulic system of hoist is composed of a hydraulic supply unit, a directional control valve, counter balance valve, and flow control valves. The flow capacity coefficients of flow control valves should be adjusted so that the hoist is operated at moderate speed and the hydraulic energy loss is minimized. However, it is difficult to adjust the flow coefficients of flow control valves by trial and error for optimal operation. Here, the steady state model of the hoist hydraulic system including the differential cylinder circuit is derived and the optimal flow capacity coefficients of flow control valves are obtained using the complex method that is one kind of constrained direct search method.

  • In this paper, we designed the adaptive fuzzy controller(AFLC) using neural network and tabu search. We tuned the weights of neural network changing adaptively input/output gain of fuzzy logic controller and the gain of fuzzy logic controller using tabu search. To evaluate the proposed method's effectiveness, we apply the proposed AFLC to the speed control of an actual AC servomotor system. The experimental results show that AFLC has the better control performance than PI controller in terms of settling time, rising time and overshoot.

  • The hydraulic fuse, which responds to the suddenly increased flow on rupture of a line and shuts off the fluid flow, would prevent large spillage of liquid. The quick-acting hydraulic fuse, which is mainly composed of a poppet, a seat, and a spring, must be designed to minimize the leaked flow and to prevent high collision speed between the poppet and seat during fuse operation on a line rupture. The optimal design parameters of a quick-acting hydraulic fuse were searched using the genetic algorithm and the complex method that are kinds of constrained direct search methods. The dynamic behavior of a quick-acting hydraulic fuse was researched using computer simulations that applied the obtained optimal design parameters.

  • The Optimization has been performed to search an economical running pattern in the view point of trip time and energy consumption. Fuzzy control model have been applied to build the meta-model. To identify the structure and its parameters of a fuzzy model, fuzzy c-means clustering method and differential evolutionary scheme are utilized, respectively. As a result, two meta-models for trip time and energy consumption were constructed. The optimization to search an economical running pattern was achieved by differential evolutionary scheme. The result shows that the proposed methodology is very efficient and conveniently applicable to the operation of railway system.

  • This paper presents a optimal path search of mobile robot using energy efficiency. Proposed method has two goals that determining the velocity of mobile robot and finding the optimal path. We model the relationship of motors' speed and power consumption with quadratic polynomials. In order to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method, we performed simulations on the energy consumption of different paths.

  • We propose an Tabu search changing neighborhood solution's range to be searched each iteration according to an objective function. It is applied for designing the scaling factors of Fuzzy Logic Controller (FLC) using the proposed Tabu search. We apply it to the speed control of AC Servomotor to evaluate the usefulness of the proposed method. As a result of the computer simulation, the FLC shows the better performance than PI controller in terms of overshoot and settling time.
