Sea level rise caused by climate change has become a global issue. Sea level rise seems to be an important factor of the research for coastal areas as it affects topography and vegetation of coasts and especially for the plan of coastal wetlands restoration which needs to be carried out for a long term, it has to be considered sufficiently. The coastal wetlands in Korea was damaged by the land reclamation project but recent concerns on the restoration have increased as its value is evaluated highly. Suncheon Bay had also reclaimed from wetlands to rice field once however this site is very active for restoration nowadays. This study estimated an effect according to sea level rise by 2100, reappearing the none dike condition of Suncheon Bay so that it can be taken account of a future plan of wetland restoration. The Sea Level Affecting Marshes Model(SLAMM) was selected as predicting model. The input data such as DEM(Digital Elevation Model), slope, wetlands category, sea level rise senario, tidal range and accretion rate was applied for the simulation. The results showed a decrease in tidal flat, an increase in sea area and a change of the rice field to transitional salt marsh consistently by 2100. These results of this study could be used as baseline data in the future plan of ecological restoration in Suncheon Bay.

Sea level is upward trend since the end of 19th century, it is accelerating after 20th century. Because sea level height has regional differences, we concerned sea level change in Korean Peninsula. We used Topex/Poseidon, Jason-1 and Jason-2 satellite altimetry data which has $1/4^{\circ}$ resolution. From 1993 to 2013, for 21 years, monthly mean sea level anomaly was negative between January and April, positive between March and October. Bohai Bay in China, affected the continental climate, showed big sea level changes. Mean sea level data showed remarkably affecting the continental climate in Bohai Bay in China, the Kuroshio Current and eddy affects the sea level change.

This study aims to reconstruct sea level change and paleogeomorphology since the middle Holocene by diatom analysis and 14C-dating from the sedimentary facies of three trenches on alluvial plain of Taehwa River, Taehwa-dong, Ulsan-si, South Korea. The Taewha-dong area was a narrow bay located between Bangeojin and eatuary of Taehwa River was a narrow bay which has been detached from the open sea during middle Holocene. Taewa-dong area at bay area was developed into alluvial plain by the sediments had been come from the Taewa river basin. The sea level change during the middle Holocene effected on the development of Taewha-dong alluvial plain and its information is included in the sediment facies.

Korea is surrounded by the West Sea, the South Sea, and the East Sea. There are various points at which large and small rivers flow into the sea, and areas where these rivers meet the coast are vulnerable to disasters. Thus, it is necessary to study disaster prevention techniques based on coastal characteristics and the pattern of disasters. In this study, we analyzed the risk factors of disaster districts analyzed in comprehensive plans for the reduction of damage to coastal cities from storms and floods. As a result of standardization, four factors (tide level, intensive rainfall & typhoon, wave, and tsunami) were identified. Intensive rainfall & typhoon occurred along the West Sea, the South Sea, and the East Sea coast. Factors that should be considered to influence disasters are tide level for the West Sea, tsunami and tide level for the South Sea, and wave in the East Sea. In addition, disaster prevention techniques to address these factors are presented, focusing on domestic and overseas cases.

This study is quantitative reconstruction of palaeo sea level records around Sinduk-ri, Gochang-Gun. 7 cores were collected from GC14 to GC18 in order to examine the entire sedimentary facies and reconstruct the sea level records. The cores were analysed by AMS, sedimentary facies, diatom and WA-pls. As a result of the diatom analysis, diatom zone were classified as No diatom zone, B1 zone, M zone and B2 zone. The result of WA-pls was that the sea level was about 1.5m lower than the present level around 6,000 BP and about 1m lower during last 5,000 BP. Thereafter, sea level rose to the present during the Mc sub-diatom zone period. Moreover, during the Md sub-diatom zone period, sea level was about 0.5m higher than the present.
Based on the tide gauge data from the Permanent Service for Meau Sea Level (PSMSL) collected at 23 locations in the Korean coast, the long-term sea-level trend was computed using a simple linear regression fit over the recorded length of the monthly mean sea-level data. The computed sea-level trend was also corrected for the vertical land movement due to post glacial rebound(PGR) using the ICE-4G(VM2) model output. It was found that the PGR-corrected sea-level trend near Korea was 2.310 $\pm$ 2.220 mm/yr, which is higher than the global average at 1.0∼2.0mm/yr, as assessed by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change(IPCC). The regional distribution of the long-term sea-level trend near Korea revealed that the South Sea had the largest sea-level rise followed by the West Sea and East Sea, respectively, supporting the results of the previous study by Seo et al. However, due to the relatively short record period and large spatial variability, the sea-level trend from the tide gauge data for the Korean coast could be biased with a steric sea-level rise by the global warming during the 20th century.
The aim of this paper is to review integrated assessment studies conducted to address the impacts of climate change sea-level rise on agricultural sector and to derive suggestions for improving the integrated assessment process to assist decision-makers in establishing climate change adaptation policy. We collect integrated assessment studies which are based on the impact-pathway analysis, compare their step-by-step procedures and identify main factors addressed in each step. The assessment process is typically carried out in the sequence of scenario development, determination of assessment scope, physical impact assessment, economic analysis and synthesis of the outcomes from each step. We identify two types of integrated assessment. The first one examines the impacts of changes in temperature and/or precipitation on the crop-cultivation patterns and/or agricultural productivity and resulting economic effects on agricultural sector. The other investigates the impacts of sea-level rise on land use/coverage and resulting economic damages in terms of land-value loss where the effects on agriculture is treated as one sector among others. To enhance integrated assessment, we suggest that 1) scenarios need to incorporate the effects of climate change and sea-level rise simultaneously, 2) scope of the assessment needs to be extended to include ecosystem services as well as crop production, 3) social and cultural aspects need to be considered in addition to economic analysis, and 4) synthesis of the outcomes from each step should be able to combine quantitative as well as qualitative information.

Seapage condition by sea water may appears on sea dike due to the gap of tidal, which generated by the sealevel repeatedly moves up and down result of the change of tidal level. In this study, apparatus was developed to apply similitude after setting the critical section. It was found that the soil loss was dramatically increased by increasing hydraulic gradient step by step. Also, to understand the change of seadike which considered the changes of the change of tidal level and inside sealevel, it was executed the experiments which divided the sea level condition of inside by continually changes the sealevel difference which is outside of the high tide and ebb tide.
Molluscan shells were sampled from the continental shelf of South Sea: 19 stations in the southeast continental shelf and 5 in the southwest sea, in order to understand characteristics of sea level changes and time-averaging since the last glacial age. Radiocarbon dates were made on 42 dominant and specific species which were sampled from 24 stations. Time-averaging was observed and showed to be 11,939 years in age difference. The sea-level ranged from 150 to 160 m below sea level during the LGM (about 15,000 yrs B.P). The sea-level significantly rose to 60 m at around 9,000 yrs B.P. and became stable at 50 to 60 m between periods between 4,000 and 5,000 yrs B.P. Between 3,000 and 4,000 yrs B.P, the sea-level rapidly rose to a depth of $10\~20m$ below today’s present sea level.

Analyzing the tide data taken at Kunsan inner and Outer ports, non-tidal and mean sea level and harmonic constants of major constituents are investigated to examine the effects of the dyke gate operation on the sea level change in Keum River estuary. Non-tidal and annual mean sea levels decrease at Kunsan Inner and Outer ports after the dyke gate operation, especially showing an abrupt drop of non-tidal sea level at Kunsan Inner port. This non-tidal sea level drop results in the mean sea level gradient change between the inner and outer port, which can be mainly explained in terms of the decrease of river discharge from the dyke. Amplitudes of the $M_2$ and $S_2$ tides at the Inner port increase after the dyke gate operation, showing an abrupt jump, and phases of both tides slightly decrease. Amplitude and phase of the $K_1$ and $O_1$ tides show slight changes after the dyke gate operation. This significant change of semi diurnal tide amplitude is believed as a result of superposition of incident tidal wave and reflected tidal wave from the dyke.
