2015 개정 과학과 일반선택과목의 수강 현황 및 선택률 제고 방안 탐색 (Exploration of the Status of Course Completion and Ways to Raise Selection Rates of General Elective Courses in the 2015 Revised Science Curriculum)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 2015 개정 교육과정 적용 2년차를 맞이하여 고등학교 2학년의 과학과 일반선택과목 수강 현황을 파악하고 과학과 교육과정 개선과 선택률 제고 방안에 대한 과학교사들의 인식을 조사함으로써 2015 개정 교육과정의 안착과 고교학점제에서 과학과 선택과목의 방향성에 대한 시사점을 도출하려는 것이다. 이를 위해 12개 시·도 교육청의 협조를 얻어 2018년 고등학교 신입생들이 수강한 과학과 선택과목의 연도별, 학교유형별, 지역별 현황을 취합하여 분석하였다. 또한 9명의 고등학교 과학교사를 초점집단으로 구성하여 과학과 선택과목 교육과정의 편성 및 운영에 대한 개선과 선택률 제고 방안에 대한 심층 면담을 진행하였다. 주요 연구결과를 살펴보면, 2019년 11월 기준으로 12개 시·도 교육청의 2018년 고등학교 신입생들의 과학과 일반선택과목 수강자 수는 물리학I 163,710명, 화학I 216,754명, 생명과학I 290,736, 지구과학I 200,861명이며, 학생 1인당 수강 과목의 수는 2.4개로 확인되었다. 학교유형별로는 자율고의 수강 비율이 가장 높았으며, 특목고와 특성화고의 비율은 매우 저조하였다. 일반선택과목의 학기당 이수단위는 3단위(61.5%)와 2단위(28.7%)가 대부분이었으며 이수단위별 수강 비율은 교육청 간에 편차가 있었다. 고등학교 과학교사들은 고교학점제에 대비한 과학과 선택과목 교육과정 개정 방안으로 한 학기에 이수할 수 있는 3단위 분량으로 선택과목을 재구성, 지식보다는 역량 중심의 내용 구성, 교사의 수업 역량을 신장하기 위한 교사공동체와 교과 중심 연수의 필요성 등을 주장하였다. 연구결과를 토대로 고교학점제에 대비한 과학과 선택과목 교육과정 운영 및 개선 방안을 제안하였다.

An Introduction of Korean Elementary Science Textbook Development Model 'FLOW' and the Feathers of the Textbook

  • This study introduces the development of elementary science textbooks in Korea. In Korea there has been eight revisions to the National curriculum and the development of nine textbooks. The State of Korea has organized textbook development teams, but this time the State chose the development team through public contest. Researchers suggested the 'FLOW' development model based upon results of studies in creative education and developed the new science textbooks. The 'FLOW' model includes four stages, aimed towards capturing students' interest in science (Fun Science), engaging students in various scientific inquiries and experiences (Lab. Experience), organizing their own knowledge of science (Organizing Knowledge), and to encourage students to become little scientists (Willing to be a Scientist). The textbook is a research-developmental textbook that utilizes various literature and exploration-strategic textbooks. The textbook's basis is formed upon scientists' experiences that assist in the realization of 'inquiry' that is emphasized within the science field.

교사들에 의한 공통과학 교과서 평가와 수업내용 현황 (The High School Common Science Textbook and Classes by the Point of Science Teacher's View)

  • High school common science is introduced by the sixth national curriculum. It consists of physics, chemistry, biology and earth science like the secondary school science. In this paper, textbooks are analyzed by the science teachers and the status of the present teaching and learning methods is reported. The detailed results are as follows; 1. Almost high school teachers choose textbook that included little the STS material. More than two teachers are teaching the high school common science and when they are chosen, they are independent with their major. 2. According to the national curriculum, they evaluated the textbooks as it is below the middle level. This evaluations are not dependent on teachers' comparement and textbook's class except the several matters based on STS (science-technology-society). 3. The teacher teaching the high school common science thought that teaching the textbook in school is worse than analysizing it. they must have emphasised on learning of inquire method than system of knowledge, introduction to material connected with real life and STS in the high school common science.

과학의 윤리적 특성 교육의 필요성과 그 실태 (The Necessities and Current States of Educating Ethical Characteristics of Science)

  • 이 논문은 과학의 윤리적 특성에 대한 교육의 필요성과 그 교육의 실태 및 문제점을 확인하고, 그 결과를 바탕으로 그 교육의 방법을 제시함에 목적을 두었다. 과학의 윤리적 특성에 대한 교육의 필요성은 과학철학, 사회학, 심리학, 과학적 연구 및 기술의 개발, 새로 형성된 윤리학 등의 문헌을, 그리고 그 교육의 실태 및 문제점은 과학교육의 목적과 그 교육과정에 관한 국내 외의 문헌을 조사 분석 하여 확인하였다. 과학의 윤리적 특성에 대한 교육의 필요성은 조사한 다섯 영역 모두에서 확인되었으며, 국내 외 각국 과학교육의 여러 분야서 그 중요성이 강조되고 있다는 사실도 확인되었다.

초등학교 교사들에 의해 제기된 2007 개정 교육과정에 따른 초등학교 3~4학년 과학 교과서의 문제점 분석 (Analyses on Problems of Grade 3~4 Science Textbooks Developed for 2007 Revised National Curriculum Raised by Elementary School Teachers)

  • In this study, we analyzed the problems of grade 3~4 science textbooks developed for the 2007 revised national curriculum raised by elementary school teachers. 53 elementary school teachers were selected and asked to complete the open questionnaire to find out the problems they experienced or perceived when they taught the corresponding unit of the science textbooks. The responses were coded and categorized through researchers' cross analysis. The result revealed various problems in using the science textbooks in real classroom context. The problems were divided into three dimensions as inquiry activity aspect, science knowledge aspect, and science learning assessment aspect. Each dimension consisted of several categories. We explained the frequency and representative examples of the problems in each category. These can provide some guidelines and implications for new science textbook developers and science education policy makers.

악기를 활용한 음악.과학 통합활동이 유아의 음악적 개념 및 과학적 과정기술에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Music and Science Integrated Activities Using Instruments on the Musical Concept and Science Inquiry Process Skill)

  • This paper investigated the effect of music and science integrated activities using instruments designed to test both musical concept and science inquiry process skills of children. The subjects of this study consisted of two classes of children aged 5 at H Kindergarten in Busan city. This study involved a class of 31 children using a music and science integrated curriculum as the experimental group and another class of 32 children using a traditional music and science curriculum as the control group. The integrated activities were used 12 times over a 6-week period. A test was taken to evaluate the effects of the integrated activities on the children's understanding on seven sub-categories of musical concepts and six sub-categories of science inquiry process skills. The results were that the experimental group showed significantly higher improvements in all subcategories of musical concept and science inquiry process skills, compared to the control group. Based on these results, we concluded that these integrated activities were effective in the development of both musical concepts and the science inquiry process skills of children.

과학 실험 실습 교육에서 초등 교사가 느끼는 딜레마 (Elementary Teachers' Dilemmas of Teaching Science Practical Work)

  • In their teaching practice, teachers encounter multi-dimensions of pedagogical challenges. The recognition and reflection on these challenges is crucial to advance our science teaching. This study looked into science teachers' dilemmas of their teaching practical work through their written cases. Dilemma cases are teachers' narratives organized around important events of teaching and learning. It can reveal teachers' situated cognition and be used as lens to investigate complex realities of science teaching and learning. 26 pre- and in-service elementary teachers' dilemma cases of science practical work were carefully collected and analysed to interpret what constitute tensions in elementary science practical works. They were largely grouped into three: Curriculum and Institutional Relevance, Students Relevance, Nature of School Experiments Relevance and divided into 7 subheadings: 'Authority of Curriculum(textbook)', 'Disappointment at external support', 'Students' interests and safety', 'Students' unscientific and inert attitude', 'Difficulty of showing expected results', 'Generalization through experiment', 'Knowledge acquisition and authentic inquiry'. Each dilemma was interpreted in terms of the tensions which constitute contradictory beliefs, values, expectation and realities. These dilemmas enabled to expose actual conditions of elementary science practical work and teachers' challenges otherwise can not be seen easily. Science teacher educators also can get some implications to overcome the gap between theory and practice in their teacher education.

초.중등 컴퓨터활용능력 신장을 위한 급수제 모델 개발 (Development of a Model of Grading System to Cultivate the Ability of Applying Computers in Elementary, Middle and High Schools)

  • For the purpose of adapting positively to the information society, it is very important to develop the capabilities of the retrieve, gather, process and application for informations by making efficient use of computers. So, with a view to understanding the importance of computer and adjusting actively to the information society, the systematic policy to cultivate the ability of making the most of computers is strongly demended. Therefore this study is to make a curriculum and guide for improving the capability of applying computers systematically, through analyzing a curriculum of computer in Elementary, Middle and High Schools, and to develop a model of grading system to cultivate the ability of applying computers, which grades capabilities of its practical use.
