An Open Medical Platform to Share Source Code and Various Pre-Trained Weights for Models to Use in Deep Learning Research

  • Deep learning-based applications have great potential to enhance the quality of medical services. The power of deep learning depends on open databases and innovation. Radiologists can act as important mediators between deep learning and medicine by simultaneously playing pioneering and gatekeeping roles. The application of deep learning technology in medicine is sometimes restricted by ethical or legal issues, including patient privacy and confidentiality, data ownership, and limitations in patient agreement. In this paper, we present an open platform, MI2RLNet, for sharing source code and various pre-trained weights for models to use in downstream tasks, including education, application, and transfer learning, to encourage deep learning research in radiology. In addition, we describe how to use this open platform in the GitHub environment. Our source code and models may contribute to further deep learning research in radiology, which may facilitate applications in medicine and healthcare, especially in medical imaging, in the near future. 일개 간호대학생의 플립드 러닝을 적용한 수업이 학습동기, 학습태도, 문제해결능력에 미치는 차이 (The comparison of flipped-learning-applied classes of nursing college students on learning motivation, learning attitude and problem solving ability)

  • Purpose: This research was conducted to the comparison of flipped learning on nursing students' learning motivation, learning attitude and problem solving ability. Method: Flipped learning was a learner-centered learning method. This study was conducted on 93 nursing students and 4th grade students taking community nursing. This study was a comparative experimental study of single group. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS Win 20.0 program. Results: The results of this study showed that the instruction of the flip learning application was statistically different from that before the test in the learning motivation (t=-2.149, p=.034) and problem solving ability (t=2.210, p=.030). However, there was no statistically significant difference in learning attitude. It is thought that the flipped-learning classes was progressed with the learner-centered, and the learner was given a lot of tasks and the preparation time was required. The classes with the flip learning was effective for the motivation and problem solving ability improvement. Conclusion: Therefore, in the next study, it is necessary to design a classes that complements this part in order to positively increase the students' attitude of learning. I would like to apply flipped-learning classes in various subjects.

Web Hypermedia Resources Reuse and Integration for On-Demand M-Learning

  • The development of systems that can generate automatically instructional material is a challenging goal for the e-learning community. These systems pave the way towards large scale e-learning deployment as they produce instruction on-demand for users requesting to learn about any topic, anywhere and anytime. However, realizing such systems is possible with the availability of vast repositories of web information in different formats that can be searched, reused and integrated into information-rich environments for interactive learning. This paradigm of learning relieves instructors from the tedious authoring task, making them focusing more on the design and quality of instruction. This paper presents a mobile learning system (Mole) that supports the generation of instructional material in M-Learning (Mobile Learning) contexts, by reusing and integrating heterogeneous hypermedia web resources. Mole uses open hypermedia repositories to build a Learning Web and to generate learning objects including various hypermedia resources that are adapted to the user context. Learning is delivered through a nice graphical user interface allowing the user to navigate conveniently while building their own learning path. A test case scenario illustrating Mole is presented along with a system evaluation which shows that in 90% of the cases Mole was able to generate learning objects that are related to the user query.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effectiveness of academic achievements, science process skill and scientific attitude. The subjects of this study were 68 fourth-grade elementary school students who were 33 students for the 5E learning cycle instruction and 35 students for traditional instruction. The control group was taught with traditional teaching method, while the experimental group was taught 'the change to the volume of material due to heat' unit of 4th grade with the developed learning cycle model. The results were as fellows: First, the learning cycle instruction is more effective for understanding of a concept related to the change to the volume of material due to heat. Second, the learning cycle model seems more effective for the expansion of both scientific inquiry ability and scientific attitude.

중학생의 과학에 대한 태도, 과학 학습 동기 및 자기조절학습 전략과 과학 학업성취도의 구조적 관계 분석 (An Analysis of Structural Relationship Among the Attitude Toward Science, Science Motivation, Self-Regulated Learning Strategy, and Science Achievement in Middle School Students)

  • 본 연구는 중학생의 과학에 대한 태도, 과학 학습 동기와 같은 정의적 특성과 자기조절학습 전략과 같은 인지적 특성의 과학 학업성취도에 대한 직 간접적인 효과를 검증하여 변인들 간의 구조적 관계를 규명하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 검사지를 통해 수집된 서울시 중학교 1, 2, 3학년 853명의 자료를 사용하여 변인들 간의 인과관계를 살펴보았다. 중학생의 과학에 대한 태도, 과학 학습 동기 및 자기조절학습 전략은 과학 학업성취도에 직접적인 영향을 미쳤으며, 과학에 대한 태도와 과학 학습 동기는 자기조절학습 전략에 직접적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 중학생의 과학에 대한 태도와 과학 학습동기는 모두 자기조절학습 전략을 매개로 과학 학업성취도에 간접적인 영향을 미쳤다. 그러므로 중학생의 과학 학업성취도를 향상시키기 위해서는 과학에 대한 태도나 과학 학습 동기와 같은 정의적 특성과 인지적 요인인 자기조절학습 전략을 동시에 고려하여 보다 종합적인 관점에서 교육할 수 있는 방안을 마련해야 할 것이다.

초등학교 6학년 과학과에서 프레어모형을 활용한 수업이 학습동기와 학업 성취도에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Teaching Program with Frayer model on Learning Motive and Learning Achievement of 6th Grade Elementary Science Learning)

  • In this study, to raise the interest and curiosity of students and at the same time to learn science concepts meaningfully for students, the teaching and learning program was developed by applying the Frayer model. The purpose of this study was to find out the Effect of Elementary Science Teaching Program with Frayer model on Learning Motive and Learning Achievement. To this end, the 6th grade classroom of A-elementary school located in Seogwipo-city was selected the experimental group (26 patients). And the other 6th grade classroom in the same school was selected to the comparative group (27 patients). The experimental group was conducted applying the Frayer model. Comparison group has been conducted lesson program in accordance with the general science class teacher guide. Was through a pre-test of science learning motivation and academic achievement level can be assumed in the same group. After completing the experimental treatment by conducting a post-mortem examination was statistically validated. In this study, the following conclusions were obtained. First, elementary science class which applied Frayer model had the effect of to improve the scientific motivation. In particular, attention (p <.01), association (p <.01), confidence (p <.01) in the experimental group were higher than the scores of the comparative group, the difference was significant. Second, the Frayer model applied to elementary science class had a significant effect on improving science achievement. The experimental group which applied Frayer model was higher than the comparative group in science achievement post-test comparison. Between the groups showed a significant difference between the two groups (p <.01). The above findings, Elementary science class which applied Frayer model can be concluded to be effective in science and science achievement motivation. Therefore, applying the Frayer model of elementary science class could be useful in science teaching and learning methods. In addition, when it is determined through the previous study, applying the Frayer model classes will be able to derive a meaningful learning also subjected to a number of fields and areas.

4차 산업혁명 시대에 필요한 초등 과학교육학 과목의 학습 내용에 대한 초등 교사의 인식 (Elementary School Teachers' Conception of the Learning Content of Elementary Science Education Subject Required in the 4th Industrial Revolution Era)

  • 본 연구는 4차 산업혁명 시대에 적합한 초등과학 교사 양성을 위해 필요한 초등 과학교육학 과목의 학습 내용에 대해 초등 교사들이 어떻게 생각하는지 알아보고자 온라인 설문을 실시하였다. 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 현행 초등 과학교육학 과목의 학습 내용이 4차 산업혁명 시대에 적합하지 않으며 학습 내용 수정이 필요하다고 생각하는 초등교사가 다수 있었다. 초등 교사들이 그렇게 생각한 이유는 주로 과목의 학습 내용이 4차 산업혁명의 특징을 포함하지 못할 뿐만 아니라 시대변화를 반영하지 못하고 과거에 머물러있다고 생각했기 때문이었다. 둘째, 초등 교사들이 4차 산업혁명 시대에 적합한 초등 교사를 양성하는 데에 중요하다고 생각한 내용은 주로 학생의 흥미와 호기심, 과학 실험이나 탐구와 관련이 있는 것이었다. 그에 비해 삭제하거나 축소해야 한다고 생각하는 항목으로는 과학 학습이론, 과학과 교수·학습 모형, 과학의 본성, 영재아 지도가 있었다. 셋째, 초등 교사들이 초등 과학교육학 과목의 학습 내용으로 추가할 필요가 있다고 생각한 내용은 SSI 교육, 과학교육 관련 사회 변화와 미래예측, 첨단과학기술, STEAM 지도, 과학 분야 내의 통합교육이었다. 넷째, 4차 산업혁명 시대에 적합한 초등 교사 양성을 위해 초등 과학교육학 과목의 학습 내용으로 우선 도입해야 한다고 생각하는 항목은 SSI 교육, 과학 분야 내의 통합 교육, STEAM 지도와 과학과 핵심역량이었다. 그 외에 추가로 도입될 필요가 있는 내용으로는 소프트웨어교육, 안전교육, 프로젝트 학습법이 있었다.

  • 이 논문은 2006년 이후 미국을 비롯한 세계 여러나라로 점차 확산되고 있는 학습 발달과정(Learning Progressions) 연구의 현황과 연구 방법을 소개하고, 최근에 국내에서 수행된 연구 사례를 중심으로 학습발달과정 연구의 실제를 제시하여 학습 발달과정을 조사하기 위한 방법론적 기초를 제공하기 위한 것이다. 이를 위해 미국을 중심으로 진행되어 온 학습 발달과정 연구의 현황을 소개하고, 특별히 학습을 위한 평가의 관점에서 학습 발달과정을 조사하는 방법과 절차를 정리하였다. 과학의 학습 발달과정은 과학의 주제를 학습할 때 형성되는 발달의 경로를 기술한 것으로서, 발달의 경로를 따라 학생들은 과학 지식을 활용하여 과학의 탐구실행에 참여하게 된다. 각각의 학습 발달과정은 상위 정착점과 하위 정착점, 그리고 두 정착점을 연결해 주는 중간 단계들로 구성되었다. 과학의 학습 발달과정을 조사할 때, 연구자들은 평가의 삼각형에 기반하여 구성된 Wilson의 4단계의 평가 시스템 구성단위를 주로 사용하였다. 논문에서는 학습 발달과정의 조사 방법과 절차를 물의 순환에 대한 학습 발달과정 조사에 적용한 사례 연구를 소개하고, 한국에서 수행될 학습 발달과정에 대한 후속 연구를 위한 함의점과 고려할 점을 논의하였다.

과학 협동학습에서 중학생들의 집단주의 성향에 따른 집단구성의 효과 및 학생들의 인식 (The Effects of Grouping by Middle School Students' Collectivism in Science Cooperative Learning and Their Perceptions)

  • 이 연구에서는 중학교 과학 수업에 협동학습 전략을 적용하여 학생들의 집단주의 성향을 고려한 소집단 구성이 학업 성취도, 과학 학습 동기, 과학 수업 환경에 대한 인식에 미치는 효과를 조사하였다. 또한, 협동학습에 대한 인식도 설문과 면담을 통하여 조사하였다. 188명의 학생들을 통제 집단과 이질 및 동질집단으로 무선 배치하고, 12차시 동안 수업을 실시하였다. 분석 결과, 학업 성취도, 과학 학습 동기, 관련성에서 수업 처치와 집단주의 성향 수준 사이의 상호작용 효과가 나타났으며, 자신감, 과학 수업 환경에 대한 인식, 친화성, 규칙의 명확성 영역에서 수업 처치의 주 효과가 나타났다. 집단주의 성향 하위 학생들의 학업 성취도는 이질 집단에서보다 동질 집단에서 더 높았다. 집단주의 성향 상위 학생들은 이질 및 동질 집단에서 과학 학습 동기와 관련성이 높게 나타났다. 또한, 동질 집단과 이질 집단의 자신감과 친화성 검사 점수가 통제 집단에 비하여 유의미하게 높았다. 동질 집단의 과학 수업 환경에 대한 인식과 규칙의 명확성 검사 점수가 통제 집단에 비하여 유의미하게 높았다. 집단주의 성향 수준에 따라 학생들이 가진 협동학습에 대한 인식의 차이가 있었다.

하이브리드 플립드 러닝과 플립드 러닝의 학습 효과 비교 (Comparison of learning effects between hybrid flipped learning and flipped learning)

  • Background: Hybrid learning is an educational approach that combines the teaching methods of online and lecture-style classes to compensate for each method's strengths and weaknesses. Compared to lecture-style classes, flipped learning improves overall class satisfaction and self-directed learning but is associated with lower learning motivation. It is necessary to determine whether hybrid flipped learning can solve the learning motivation problem of flipped learning by incorporating flipped learning into hybrid learning. The purpose of this study is to compare the effects of hybrid flipped learning and flipped learning on students' learning ability. Design: Cross-sectional study Methods: For students in the Department of Physical Therapy, classes were conducted using both flipped learning and hybrid flipped learning. In both learning methods, students took online classes first and participated in them every week. Flipped learning classes was conducted offline at school every week, while hybrid flipped learning alternated between live classes on YouTube and offline classes at school every other week. Results: Hybrid flipped learning resulted in significantly lower learning satisfaction and course evaluation than flipped learning, with no significant difference in grades. Conclusion: Hybrid flipped learning was able to cope with the situation well with the non-face-to-face teaching method caused by COVID-19, but it was difficult to improve learning ability because there were restrictions on activities that could interact with students. Flipped learning is a smooth offline activity that enables two-way activities between professors and students to improve learning ability, but the effect of improving test scores is still unclear.
